Cloud kitchen. Service needs to improve by leaps and bounds. Taking orders over what's app is fine but hardly for an acknowledgement. Had to follow up and with no proper communication on when food will be ready for pick up. Could be because order was limited quantity. Kheer is great but the chicken and mutton briyani is average. No issues with the quantity but again not sure if that is a standard quantity. Surely lot of scope for improvement.
Delicious mutton biryani, fantabulous! Kheer is out of this world, must try even for vegetarians. Will go back for this again and again. Sides depends on individual but for me not one of my favourites - pepper chicken today and kabab last time both fell short of expectations but since that's not the main focus it did not matter. Blindly go for the yummy biryani Aunty and her son at the counter are warm people patiently address your query. Their team is quick and efficient to handle to ever growing crowd.
It's worth the hype! Finally tried it out after living on the next street for a year, and it's really awesome homemade food. Chicken biryani and kheer were amazing - very tasty, but not too spicy or oily. Very good portions as well.
Ordered Chicken Biriyani and Pepper Chicken for a house get together. The chicken biriyani had Baingan bartha (Brinjal curry) and Kheer. The biriyani was perfect with good rice and chicken pieces and good amount of masala mix. Not over masala. The baingan and chicken curries were well cooked and with good amount spice flavour. Loved the kheer too it tasted sweet and creamy. Will definitely buy again from them for sure. Only suggestion is to keep a board stating the place name at the house. Otherwise 5 star anyday. Thank you.
I really had high expectations, as it was referred by my friend. I was disappointed with the portion of meat in the biriyani and there was no meat at all it was just bones and bits. The biriyani and it's flavour was really good but you really need to work on your portion and if you continue to do so, it's not at all worth the money.
First time bought mutton biryani. Was excellent. It was mutton only and not beef as someone mentioned in a review before. Sweet was so tasty too. Would highly recommend.staff also were cool and courteous.
Hello Mister and Misses Khan, Hello Umar. Hope all is well with you all. I can still remember smelling your Biriyani in the neighbourhood 22 years ago. I can not wait to come back and try it again as i miss it very much. This is Sean Pereira I used to live in the corner of your street. 329 wheeler road. Have a wonderful day.
Pathetic food and she doesnt know how to talk to customers.we ordered mutton briyani and we could tell that there was some major mixing that took place between chicken and mutton.
Preparation is right in front of you and it's served straight out from the hot vessel. The spice is so well balanced it's just to tickle your taste buds and feel the authentic spices used in it.
We had ordered mutton biryani, brinjal gravy, raita, pepper chicken, chicken kebab and kheer for our wedding get-together. The mutton biryani was delicious and the quantity was worth it. The other items were okay.
Superb Biriyani at an affordable price. Mutton Biriyani the meat is tender literally melts into your mouth only negative of the place is there is no place to sit and eat there
The quality of food, quantity and the steady increase of price has been maintained. The cleanliness of the service area and the style of service def.needs a revamp! The sides (kababs n chicken wings) taste a bit different, and i dont know why.
But there was this one time that i ordered in excess and when the crowds did not turn up, she agreed to take some (5 plates) back.
She runs brisk business with the help of her husband Hameet Khan and their two sons — Umar and Sabran — who take time off to support her.
A foodie herself, Mrs Khan decided to start something of her own so that she could serve people the real biryani. And all the cooking, packing and serving is done from her house. She has dedicated the ground floor to her catering business.
Mrs Khan cooks the biryani herself. “My customers insist that I make the biryani. That’s precisely why I haven’t entrusted the cooking to anybody else. People have got so used to my way of cooking that another recipe won’t go down well with them, ” says Mrs Khan. And she is on her toes 24/7 to ensure that taste, quality and service, all are in place. “Nothing must go amiss. It’s not about the price or profit, it’s just that I want people to come back for more, ” she said. She simply refuses to let us in on how it is cooked but the sight of only large cooking vessels is proof of the large amount she dishes up each time. The food is cooked only by order through the week and you’d find people take away nothing less than five or six packets on weekends. “We cater on order and supply to corporates during the week and on Saturday and Sunday, we cook in a large quantity. My sons also join in the process, ” she said.
The chicken, egg and mutton biryani come with three accompaniments — raita, kheer and brinjal gravy. “The meat is bought fresh from the market and is cooked until it is soft. I always taste the dishes before they are served. The food has to rise up to a particular standard and it must be served in an attractive way, ” insists Mrs Khan. The biryani is always cooked in less oil. “The chicken and mutton biryani are popular with the people. We cook it over fire for a long time and I think that makes all the difference, ” she reasons. The vegetarians haven’t been left out. The Khans also serve vegetable pulao, jeera rice, ghee rice paneer, dal makhani. “The vegetarian dishes are cooked only on order, ” she adds. But why haven’t the Khans thought of opening a restaurant? Mrs Khan has an explanation.
“We cook food afresh every time. In a restaurant, we have to cook and wait for people to come and there are restaurants where the food is re-heated and served the next day. I don’t believe in the concept of re-heating. I prefer serving it hot and fresh, ” she observed.
Julie, a housewife who recently placed an order with Mrs Khan, said she really liked the taste and the service they offered but she thought the food was a wee bit too oily. “Considering the present market rate, the price is also reasonable. They have a good variety, ” she said. The biryani costs anywhere between Rs 90 and Rs 110. A plate of kebabs cost Rs 30 and vegetarian dishes begin from Rs 50. Mrs Khan’s biryani is at 48/1, Hutchins Road, 2nd cross, St Thomas Town. For details, call 25475853.
We catered from her once and thenvowed never to go back to her. While she used to be good once upon a time, the quality of the food has taken a real nose dive. She has business acumen in spades but the same is not translated to the quality and hygiene of the food she makes.
