Very courteous staff. Very tasty food. Lots of varieties of items in the menu.

On the whole, I LOVED the experience. I will be back soon with family & friends.

Had idli, masala dosa, coffee, jamoon and damrot, the taste was so bad of everything that any basic road side cafe/food cart serve much better food than here

It's a loot, for ₹125 masala dosa, they won't even provide more sambhar, when asked the waiter for 3rd bowl of sambhar, he arrogantly said we're not here to do these kind of things, after complaining to management they were also like we only give 2 bowls of sambhar, that's pathetic, not a single restaurant i have visited said have such policy.

Service is really pathetic. Very long time taken to serve and the waiters are not polite enough.

It was asususal best food and taste. Too much and heavy eaters will enjoy. Price is less for the quantity and unlimited food. U can eat all kind of food in a row and unlimited.

Overall ambience is not appealing.
But food is good.

Good place. Good food. Some waiters are lazy though and all for hooky order standing behind you! Do they expect customer to turn back to speak? Stupid attitude. Need better training I guess. Waited should stand in front of at worst on the side.

Food quality is superb. All south Indian dishes are nice. But North Indian foods like pav baji, etc are not upto the mark. Servers are nice and polite. Hotel ambient is also nice. Using lot of ghee. So foods are smelling nice.

Dosa was good, but relative to the price it was just alright. Almost everything else here is pathetic. My North Indian friends did not like it and weren't very impressed with the recommendation. Do not make the mistake of ordering Pav Bhaji or any of the shakes/juices. They should only keep those things in the menu which they prepare well. They are destroying their own brand.

One of the best places to have veg eateries and ofcourse if not for the crowd I would anytime consider this place for lunch.

An excellent hotel to taste a traditional pure and unlimited food. It's not just food, it's feast. Very hospitality in serving food items like your family members, forcing you to taste each and every item of the menu. Also hygienic ambience. Must try to eat a festival like menu.

I ordered masal dosas, Uddin vada etc from this joint through Swiggy. The items were delicious. On thing that I want to point out is the fact that the quality of sambar left much to be desired. It was bland. The coconut chutney was also bland. There was neither uppu nor Khara. I believe they are mixing Jaggery in coconut chutney. This is not done anywhere else and in other parts of south India including Andhra, Tamilnadu and Kerala. I wish the joint makes chutney more spicy. No complaint in respect of other items. Sambar is tasteless and no uppu or khara.

Fresh south indian breakfast is a must here. Go with a group of people. And at the end don't forget to drink coffee.

Tried dosa, khara bhath, bonda sambar and button idli. All were awesome. Went here on a sunday and to our surprise, it was not that crowded. Sambar used to be very sweet here. Not anymore. Cofee is just out of the world.

Somehow i felt they were very much disorganised right from arranging for seating till serving.we had kids with us, but people who came after us were given seats, taking order was delayed, sambhar, which we asked mid meal, was given after waiting n waiting n finally after we finished our idli and dosa.i understand, weekend breakfast is a rush hour, but with their experience and name, fame, they should handle it well.only bisibelebath tasted like original and all others were not upto MTR's mark.we have loved MTR earlier but this time thoroughly disappointed.hope things get better.as we went out with friends and kids after long time in this pandemic times.

Recently vieited this branch with family. Worst ever experience.around 7: 30 to 8: 00pm most of the dinner items were not available and whatever available itself took more than 30 minutes to get into the table and more than this worst part is some of the items which they took order they came back and said not available after making us to wait for 30 minutes.ridiculous.and the dosa was half cooked, clearly visible batter in the inner layer.never suggest MTR.definately lost its charm these days.

Poor no really bad service.
First struggle to get a place.for that you need to find a uncle with spectacles.who would be roaming somewhere on the floor.
Now when you get the place, struggle to get attention of the person serving your table.
He will tell 2 mins for at least 10 times.and then he may ask your order.and better you be ready with order because he is not going to give you more than 30 secs to place the order.he is busy man.
Now wait till eternity to get your food.

This is the situation at 11.40 AM on a Sunday morning.
Food is good.thats why you come here.else no reason to undergo this treatment.

If you are coming with kids.please feed them with some small meal because they won't be able to wait this long.a pretty breakfast before the breakfast or pre dinner.

Not coming back again.better ordering on some food app and eat at home in peace.

It's a very neat and clean place to have south Indian style food. They have their own authentic taste. The staff.is very friendly and the all the products are rightly price. My personal fav is the mini tiffin, the servings are rightly sized.

It was bright and airy. There was no temperature check at the entry and the hyper local delivery boys were crowding the entry to the eatery and there was zero social distancing.

Pathetic service, long wait time for table and even longer wait time for ordering. Decent food but not worth the wait.

Very good vegetarian restaurant. One of the oldest in Bangalore. Well maintained place and hygienic preparations.

Trusty old MTR still serving delicious special thalis.
Naturally, there will be a wait before being seated. But the staff is courteous, food is delicious, and the experience is pleasant.

Located on 5th floor, lifts are available. Parking space beside the park in front is limited. Restrooms are available.

Authentic south Indian tiffin items are available. Masala dosa should not be missed whenever you are here.

It's an experience. It's a heritage restaurant in Bangalore. Service was good. Idly was really delicious. Other items that we had ordered were also good. Cost is quite high. But just to get an experience of The MTR. Providing ghee as side dish is the best ever tradition from MTR. Though it looks crowded from outside, there is enough room upstairs where table service is provided and you can eat peacefully.

Good place with tasty food served. Covid precautions are taken care.
Plus point is the park outside of the hotel, which can help you relax after having stomach full of tasty food.
Four wheeler parking is a bit of concern.

One of the branches of the iconic MTR restaurant. Be sure to try out the rava idli (a dish which MTR is credited with inventing) and bisibelebath. The special meal with unlimited portions is a great introduction to Karnataka cuisine but make sure you visit with an empty stomach. The restaurant also has a section that sells sweets and packaged foods manufactured by MTR

The negative is that it tends to get pretty crowded on weekends with long waiting times. Also, the lift to get to the restaurant that is located on the 5th floor is tiny and tends to get stuffy.

Service below par, sagu was burnt.quality of the restaurant has gone downhill, sad to see a brand like MTR who are known for their quality food and service, serve such pathetically bad food nowadays

Sometime back I went for lunch on a Sunday with my family. One of the member went for a hand wash and we were waiting near our table but to my disappointment the waiters started serving the food before we could occupy our chairs. Later our family member arrived and started the lunch. By the time the items became cold. Every time they served in a hurry before we could finish one item. They wanted us to finish as fast as if they were chasing us from behind. We could not have a peaceful lunch. I felt like hitting the waiters but controlled with patience as I did not want to spoil the atmosphere. Worst attitude and service of the waiters/management. Given three stars only for quality food.

Similar setup to back at home Maharashtrian food at Durvankur in Pune. This place gives similar experience of the food of Karnataka. Huge course meal and everything's worth a try, so try everything first and then if you still feel hungry go for second helpings. Will definitely come here again.

I ordered Rava idli for my parents from the MTR in BTM via Swiggy. The saagu that came along with it had gone bad. It's sad to see that they are compromising quality of food despite the exorbitant prices.

No taste at all. And they instead restricting entry at the borders of closing time they said everything is closed except plain dosa after we take seats

Amazing breakfast options and taste. I highly recommend the breakfast platter, masala dosa, idlis and especially the Kesari bhath. Price of all breakfast items is very reasonable. Food is served fast too. Coffee quantity is less and price is more, but taste is good.
Parking is an issue at that street, they need to figure that out.

MTR is a somewhat of a emotion for Bangalore people. Their South Indian food is undoubtedly better than most places in town and food is a no nonsense good comfort food type. They serve ghee or butter with your dishes and they compliment each other really well. Their coffee is amazing as well. The masala dosa was excellent as well.

You go in any branch of MTR and you will find the taste of food exactly same or delicious. But yeah they need to maintain more cleanliness specially during this time.
They need to replace their coffee cups with new one's as they look dirtyand old.

One feedback - please give some way to specify the amount of sambhar/chutney when placing order on swiggy. We got much more chutney and sambhar than we needed. We kept the sambhar for lunch but we couldn't do anything with the chutney.

The trade mark MTR stands for quality. Tried their Rice, Rasam and palya as take away on two occasions. It's priced at Rs 75. Good packing with undoubted blemishless quality. Rasam was top notch which goes well with the palya (side dish). On two other occasions I tried their take away mini lunch priced at Rs 175 inclusive of package cost. Menu for limited meals is two big sized pooris with tasty sagu, rice, Rasam, mini pappads and top quality sweety curd rice with mixed vegetables pickle. Food was really amazing both in terms of quantity and quality. One important point to note here is the correct level of rice cooking. In most places either rice is half cooked to prevent consumption or over cooked. In MTR it's aptly cooked. One has to go after 12.30 pm for take aways, for steamingly hot take aways. One of the best south Indian dishes are served here. You will find some separate ghee with masala dosas and idlis. Everything tastes soo good.

They are also purely money minded people and dont care to provide the service for the money charged for.

MTR is a wonderful restaurant with some mouth watering dishes. One of the best veg dishes can be found here. They don't compromise on the quality of their standards. This hotel is in a Very good location in JP Nagar Bangalore. Overall it is value for money at MTR.

An average place for a good vegetarian pitstop. The expensive food served here clearly doesn't meet the quality or quantity that one can expect. The interiors and ambience definitely doesn't meet one's expectations of the brand that MTR is in Bangalore, it's just like any other veg restaurant.

Authentic MTR foods to taste, as name itself suggests. Would recommend visiting a little early on weekends as it gets crowded after 8pm

MTR is a short form for Mavalli Tiffin Rooms, a chain of pure vegetarian hotel. Whenever we are there we opted for full meals which include Dosa, Puri, Bisibelebath and south Indian meals. Best of all is the taste of Bisibelebath. It is a must try place for vegetarians in Bangalore

If you want to eat just dosa, go in the morning or late evening because lunch time is usually buffet. Best thing to order is a mini tiffin combo as it would give you a taste of everything. Do not forget to ask for ghee if you haven’t received along with your idly/dosa as that separates MTR from all other places.

One of the best place for tiffin. Dosa, rava idly and chow chow bath is a must try dish. Service is good, ambiance is decent. Price is pretty high. Over all a good place.

The waiter or staff here takes ages to take your order and you have to wait a lot to be served. I ordered vada, masala dosa and coffee, I got vada but given the price of rs 46 I expected two vadas but it was just one, I hoped it to be really good for the price that I was paying but it wasn't worth the price or wait. The masala dosa arrived with no filling inside and when asked he reduced two rupees in my bill. This is not the service I was expecting. MTR experience just let me down. Do go there for coffee as I really enjoyed the filter coffee taste. Is it worth going there just for coffee? If you have the time and if you can ignore the poor staff service then it's your call.

Visited MTR JP Nagar after many months. Quaint place with same env which is jaded now as was an year ago. Was crowded today due to year end holidays. Nice breakfast. Only complaint is the oiliness in blast items. Good for a visit once in 6 months.

Been a regular here since a couple of years being a South Bangalorean and I can only say good things about this place! The Neer Dosa and Mini/Button Idli (Sambhar dip) are my personal favorites! Don't forget to also try out their thalis, fresh fruit juices and milkshakes! Keep it up MTR as your quality has remained consistent over time unlike numerous other Darshinies.

Today we went to MTR journey nagar. We ordered chandrahara sweet. It was very bad and like a stone.also Sambhar was no taste.

This is "The Place" where each Bangaloreans can take anybody to have classic food. Very tasty and quick service. Go with empty stomach so that you can have more delicious food:)

Signature dishes of MTR - masale dose, poori, rave idli still retain their attraction. Service is good. Atmosphere is good. But place is crowded and finding parking is a problem. MTR is anything but pocket friendly.

Prevalently visited by people great for a South Indian treat, quality and tasty food is served.place is clean and tidy.
There are two shops -
one at the 1st floor where coffee, sandwich and sweets are sold.
Second is at 5th floor where food, coffee and sweets are served.
Reservations cannot be made!
There are timings for breakfast, lunch and dinner, better call and confirm with the timings.
This place has a small party hall.which can accommodate 50 people.and I think Monday is holiday.
One must try special meals to taste almost everything MTR has to offer.
On Saturdays for lunch only thali (big platter) is served.on the other days you can order from the menu.
I would recommend this place anytime of the day for family, friends, students and for small gatherings also.
Car/bike parking is not available, you may have to park on the road side.
