Amazing place for Bangalore people to enjoy 1-2 days of vacation. The view from the top is astonishing. It is peaceful and one can relax and recharge himself from a stressful life.

Go to Nandi hills early morning. If you reach there by around 6 AM, it will be very good. The view points and climate is very good. But it will be very crowded.

Yea, you can ask any Bangalorians. They rate it good for site seeing! And yes, a relaxing spot after week full loads.but but but
you go in 1000 cars. You get proper parking! But two wheeler.abbov! Gone! If you are entering late, done done! You have to park in some sliding places. The staff's behaviour is bad!

It is a magnificent place to enjoy the serene beauty of nature.

Nandi Hills (Anglicised forms include Nandidurg and Nandydoorg) is an ancient hill station built by Ganga Dynasty in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from Bengaluru. The hills are near the town Nandi. In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy river, Ponnaiyar River, Palar River, Papagni River and Penna River. Watching the sunrise at Nandi Hills is popular with tourists. The first ever SAARC summit hosted by India was held at Nandi Hills in 1986. Nandi Hills will be open from 06: 00 am to 6: 00 pm every day but it is advisable to check before going because timings may vary depending on climatic conditions. You should start early in the morning around 3: 00 am to avoid traffic jams and reach the sunrise point in time and have a beautiful view of sunrise. The best time to visit Nandi Hills is during the peak season, which is from September to May. The weather is pleasant during this time, with average temperatures ranging from 15 to 30 degrees Celsius. There is also less rainfall during this time, making it a more comfortable time to visit. The hills were named Anandagiri in the Chola period which meant, “The Hill of Happiness. ” As the hill resembles the shape of a sleeping bull it is also called Nandi Hills. Also, a huge Nandi bull is situated at the top of Nandi Hill.

Traffic management at the parking place worst. One guy who supposed to direct people for parking behaves so rudely, and that idiot simply passes his time without working. Because of his behaviour I've to lose my cool and good mood. Because of that idiot we may end up in bad mood. Because of that idiot, my review is concentrated only on this point. Parking facility may be rendered, the company owner should employ trained people to manage traffic and advise the people about their behaviour.

If the weather favours, you will be lucky to view the sunrise. Even if you reach early morning at 4, expect to find traffic (on weekends). A long queue of vehicles at the entry, for kilometres - even when we were returning from the hills at 9AM.

But the view, the fog, the experience is worth the wait and struggle.

Good place to visit specially at morning time to see sunrise. Nandi hills is approx 50km from bangluru city. I have visited here at evening time the weather was good, cool wind it was peace and connection to nature all just mesmerizing.

The best time to visit is early morning, around 5: 30 to 8: 00am, so you can capture the stunning sunrise and experience the cool breeze and mist. You can reach the hill by bike, car, or even by State Government Buses (BMTC or KSRTC) that operate in the morning for both directions.

If you are visiting on the weekend, please make sure you reach before the time of opening the gate, since parking will be full on the top and there will be 4km long traffic that can be faced which will take 3 to 4 hours to release. It's better to visit on weekdays since it is much more crowded than your expectations. Ticket price is 20 rupees per adult 10 rupees per kids and 60 rupees car parking. Use and throw plastic bottles are not allowed on the hill they will ask you to deposit at the entrance and on the top you need to buy water with bottles. It's better to carry a stainless steel bottle and buy water on the top.
This time I found this place much more organised than before, The tree house was well maintained and the sitting chair was newly installed at different places. KSTDC is focusing more on cleanliness and maintenance.

Went on 18 Dec 2022. Nice climate. Full of fog. It was full of traffic even at 6.30 am in the morning toward the hill like 4-5 km before Nandi hills. It is better to go by two wheeler. Two wheeler can go to the top even after the entrance. At the entrance they will anyway charge you 70 Rs for one bike and two people. Right after the entrance there is a bike parking area. Once you enter there are very few points to go, Viewing bridge, Rocky view point, tree Hut garden. No directions are given so just roam around and explore.
A lot of mini restaurants are available uphill and downhill.
Overall nice drive.

This Place is awesome and beautiful its worth the money if we reach early in the morning to experience mist and fog and its bikers friendly place not suitable for cars you'll be stuck in traffic jam for many hours.

One the best one day trip for me.

One of the best time to visit Nandi Hills surely indulge winters in the months of September-February. The early mornings will give chills with cold weather but sunrise amidst the clouds literally makes feel in the heaven. Between 6-6.30 am, one gets to kiss the sun and bask in its beauty.

I can suggest that do go to this place in weekend like sun and saturday because there will be crowd.

- Need to have cash in hand to buy ticket (1 vehicle 2 people - ₹70). No UPI only Cash. And also network doesn't reach there.
- Suggested not get 4 Wheeler especially on Weekends or you'll be stuck in heavy traffic and will surely miss your timing of Sunrise. Go on 2 Wheeler only.
- It's a Great place for morning rides and also to fill your gallery with some great Pictures. Somedays it's totally foggy even at 9 a.m. But a great spot for shoots during foggy days especially and ride with Friends.
- My Personal suggestion to coffee lovers - There's a Nandini Milk Parlour on the hill, do try the coffe out there. Continental Coffee at ₹20. Great Taste!

It is wonderful place to visit at early morning on weekday and unforunately, we were struck at drizzling and too heavy fog as well. Unable to see much places with the climate.

Beautiful and scenic views, reasonably managed and maintained place, could be better. Digital payment mode either not available or may not work due to limited connectivity. Ample car parking available. Restrooms are not clean and not maintained. Limited options for food are also available. Never the less, a go to place if you want to enjoy driving in midst of greenery and love nature. Highly recommended!

It's a spectacular view. There are good restaurants here for refreshments. Parking facilities are available. The gardens and the lake are beautiful spots for photography. Beware of monkeys and take care of your belongings. Listen to the weather reports before going here in winter as sometimes it gets too foggy and difficult to drive.

Couldn't see the view from up there coz of the continuous drizzle but the road leading up is well maintained and the greenery is worth it.

Nandi hills or nandi durg, is a hill fortress located at a distance of 61m from Bangalore. Most importantly 37km from Bangalore international airport.

I have been 5 times via different modes of travel and being a biker and photographer, I prefer to travel by bike.
The condition of road is excellent as you have to travel through international airport road. Take 1 or 2 breaks in between i.e during your journey to have a cup of coffee or tea with delicious snacks on road side.

This place is full of greenery and you can click amazing pictures. The sunrise view is exceedingly breathtaking and for that you need to start early morning to reach and have a view. Tipu's guest house, a park, a pond, temples and many more to view on your eyes. A must visit place when you are in Bangalore. A one day trip to rejuvenate yourself with your family or friends.

The place is good to visit. But if you have visited hilly places before then this is not that much excited for you. If clouds are there then it would looks more beautiful else it's ok.

One of the best place around Bangalore. The best view is sunrise. So try reaching early morning before 5: 30 so that you can enter as soon as gate opens at 6: 00am. Anyone can drive till hilltop and parking fee is 175/-. There is a hotel (hotel Mayura) by Karnataka govt where anyone can stay as well. It's a must must visit place. On the way don't forget to visit Boga / yoga Nandiswara temple which is around 15km on the way back to NH44.
Along with very nice weather there are lots of money, avoid feeding them else you will be surrounded by lot many.

The perfect place to view the sunrise and experience the cold and clouded weather beside Banglore. The journey to Nandi hills is also refresh your body and mind. You need to get here before 6.00 Am to enjoy the whole thing. The fog and the cloudy atmosphere on the top of the hill will give you a mesmerizing feel and the small walk though the gardens will give you the fresh and pure oxygen and the happiness to fill your mind. Also we may get familiar with some new trees and plants as the name is mentioned for the knowledge. The walk will lead you to the top of the hill and there you can feel the cold weather and the fog around you. Sometimes the fog will be dense and it will make problems with the long visions. We may able to see for a short distance not so far, and the wind will always bring the fog and the cloudy surroundings for you to feel a little alone in a very crowded place. Usually the place will be very crowded and careful about your steps if it's too much cloudy.

There a few viewpoints here to capture the beauty of the landscape. The clouds will be floating under your feet and it will be constantly moved by the wind. The sun will appear on the sky and spread the light on all things and you are getting the amazing opportunity to feel and experience how the sunlight waking up the earth by it's mere touch.

And you can take some good pictures if you are having a good camera, and the backgrounds will give you excellent pictures

A must visit place for anyone in Bengaluru. The views are amazing. The place can get crowded over weekends hence plan accordingly. There is a steep trip if you choose stairs hence not recommended for elderly or young kids. Also the weather is unpredictable so don't forget your umbrella. Also beware of monkeys and eating in open is something which is avoided at best.

Solo ride to nandi hills was a very great experience. Roads from highway to connecting road to hills was not that great. Streets lights have to be installed. I had been for a sunset view, returning back to highway was bit difficulty without proper streetlight. Sunset view was just like sailing with the clouds. What a wonderful experience overall!

Fantastic place to visit. Very good experience during sunrise time. Food and hotel rooms also very good. Only drawback is stray dogs everywhere and threatening to visitors.

Very good place to chill out with friends and family. Try to visit by sunrise or sunset times. View will be spectacular those hours. Very near to bangalore city so expect too much crowd on weekends so avoid on those days. Dont throw any plastic on hill top. We can stay on hill top that also gives awesome experience as no need to wake up by 3 or 3.30. Just before sunrise we can wakeup and get ready for sunrise with a cofee.

Great place to hangout with friends and family. Make sure you bring jerkin or sweater while visiting this place. Must bring snacks or light food since no big food counters available on top.

One of the best place in Bangalore. Over crowded during weekend so I recommend visiting on week day. Lot of shops enroute. Mirchi Pakoda enroute (as soon as you take turn for Nandi hills) is must try. Roads are good with few sharp turns.

This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The gates of hills open around 5.50am. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though. You can see lot of monkeys on the way and great valley views. On reaching top there are two options. Either you can park your car in the outer parking and take the walk further up, or you can drive further up to the upper level parking and reduce your walk. Difference is in the charges, taking car up will cost you more.too many monkeys there so be careful with food items as they tend to snatch them. View of sunrise is breathtaking. There are nice and clean washrooms near the outer parking and also some at the top. There is a garden, few temples, caves on the top as well. There is a decent restaurant on the bottom of the hill. Usually in don't ’t go on a cloudy day. The beauty won’t totally be seen. The ghat road is narrow but drivable. Mornings, most of days are foggy and you might miss the sunrise and post that this place starts getting warmer. The place is beautiful with natural scenic beauty and fog covered mountains. You can track within the hills and forests. Also there are view points from where the view is amazing during sunrise and sunsets.

Most people line up there to see the beautiful sunrise with splendid valley view, but I want to avoid the crowd so went in the afternoon and enjoyed a sunset with family. Other reviews might already be covering about what is there to see and do so not covering that as part of this review. Driving up is not that difficult, even for me this was first time "ghat" drive. You can see lot of monkeys on the way and great valley views. On reaching top there are two options. Either you can park your car in the outer parking and take the walk further up, or you can drive further up to the upper level parking and reduce your walk. However I got a great place to park (just before upper level parking there are couple of arches made for the sunset view, if crowd is not there you are in luck) as I was early for sunset so we just stood outside the car and enjoyed the sunset. There are nice and clean washrooms near the outer parking and also some at the top. The actual caves are few steps away. They are know as brahmashrama. The caves are natural once used by sages to meditate. Few meters before the cave there is a small well knows as birth place of palar river. Next to the cave is a big bull statue locally know as

One of the best places in and around Bengaluru. I have been to here for three to four times. Visits in the early morning are good as you get to see the fog. You can find hotels for breakfast on the hills itself.

Great gateaway for weekend. If you are lucky and sky is clear you might see sunrise. In monsoon it feels like a hill station. You get Maggi, icecream, pakode etc there. Beware of monkeys, they snatch food items from your hand. Parking is there with helmet stand.

A lot more maintenance is required. The tree houses are in ruins. The hotel on top the so called 'maurya top' is the uncourteous one. No hospitality is seen here. Staff are rigid and the food taste is below normal. Rice are not cooked.properly. Indifferent attitude of the staff hinders the joyful moments. Tourist feel like having paid penalty instead of receiving delicacies.

Very beautiful place near Chikballapur, Ideal for couples, singles and family. Place is a bit crowded in terms of car parking. They don't allow bikes inside the park. Road is also well laid with nearly 42 curves. Ideal for bike rides and weekend trips.

I traveled nandi hills on 30july 2019. It was a great experience. Best time to reach nandi hill at 5.30am. So me and my friend rent a bike from drivezy and start from Bangalore to nandi hill at 4.0am.we reached nandi hill at 5.45 wait there for gate to open till 6.0am.then we go to this awesome place.it was foggy and always child.so take warm clothes with you. 2-3hrs are enough to explore the place.

A good place for outing on weekend, around 70-80kms from b’lore city, except for summers you can enjoy all weather over here, but need to be careful with monkeys, as we were about to have lunch and group of 15-20 monkeys attacked our food and ate everything, luckily we had kept some snacks in car so we didn’t go empty stomach. Wonderful place to visit with family. Must watch Sunrise and sunset. There You have to buy drinking water. It will take about 4 to 5 hours if you like to walk and visits all the places.

Great place for a quick getaway from Bangalore. Any non-summer month early morning gives a cold and super foggy experience. There is a very old temple on top which is worth the visit. There are specific view points and birth places of 3 rivers that can be covered over a stroll.

Today 11/07/2019 we visited chilled & lovely with my family and we enjoyed very much. Place is filled with scenes and scenery. Nandi cave & Shiva Temple is attractive points both are historical place. Some restaurants also attract public for hot sacks, tea and coffee.

Beautiful hills so close to Bangalore. Can easily visit in half a day. The drive is pleasant and the road takes you close to the top of the summit. During early monsoon, there's quite a bit of must, so visibility is rather poor. The views clear around October and stay so through the summer.
There's a Shiva temple at the top. Plenty of places to eat. Watch out for mischievous monkeys who can chase children with food.

One of the awesome places to vist with family, if you want to have a lifetime memory you must visit at early hours of morning. I promise you will love it

Must visit tourist place located away from hustle bustle of Bangalore.
If you could reach here early to six in d morning to can capture the beautiful sunrise.

Its really mesmerizing to see the sunrays making its way through the snow white clouds & walk around the hills.enjoy the cold breeze, greenary. From the top the clouds were something like which we see in Disney comics.

There are also few breakfast counters which provide garama garam fritters, bread omlet, Maggie nd many more.
On the way back I would recommend to visit Bhoga & Yoga Nandeshwar temple which is jus half an hour ride from the top.

Such a beautiful Place to visit. But it will be wasted if you don't know the right time to visit there. The best time to visit there is in between June to August and remember the timing. Because after the one or two hour of sunrise it will become a normal hill. So if you want to get the best view then sun rise the best time. It opens at 6 on all days except sunday.on sunday it opens at 5: 30.

Nandi Hills is a (too) popular weekend morning getaway from Bangalore which is preferred by most Bangaloreans looking to take a ride out of the sickening city life. Taking away one star because the rush is immense, negating any positives that such a location would naturally provide. Tipu's Summer palace couldn't be located - but that is probably our ignorance - but it's supposed location has some great views of the hills around. Good for an early morning ride away from the city if you can tolerate the crowd.

I advise Bike journey rather CAR or BUS. This place is 70KM approx.from Bangalore Bus Station/Rail station. Whatever you choose you must reach before sunrise as this is is the wonderful view from this hills. Start early 4 o'clock and you will reach in 1.30 hrs to the place. I believe you will be amazzzed with the view. Just go and enjoy the view.

It's around 64 kilometers from Kormangala Bangalore.
Its a good location for a quick get away from the cuty life. If you love road trips than this is a good one. Best timing is to go at early morning. We left at around 3 am and reached their at around 5am on bike. They open the gate at 6am. From their it is 5 minutes more ride to the final place. I would suggest to go early even if you have to wait before they open the gate. If you go late than you will get stuck in long que at the ticket counter. Paid parking is available.

The place is basically a huge rock mountain from where you can enjoy some beautyful view. It's really foggy and windy. The wind is so strong (atleast both the time I visited) that it will literally push you from your place.

In the name of food you will get snaks, like pakora, sandwich, tea, coffee etc.

Among my countless visits to Nandi hills in the past, the one on 31st Dec early morning was the best. Ever so foggy and cloudy, it reminded me of Coorg and Munnar. KSTDC chai point is good too. However, giving 1 star less only to point out the ill management of vehicles as it was extremely crowded.
