N.I. Kauvery Silk & Handicraft Emporium

I visited this place on 6/9/2023 for purchasing sandalwood perfume and attar.

I bought the cauvery apparel perfume for 1000/- sandalwood attar for 300/- and brindavan sandal soap for 380.

The same item are available at golden temple coorg at a very low rate
Cauvery perfume at 350/- brindavan sandal soap 215/-

So this guys are just fooling people and looting their hard earned money

Should never visit this store as it is charging extremely high prices from the tourist.

The place is okay, I really couldn't see much because the sales lady really hurried into showing the sarees! I wished to see some more though. I shopped here since I was going to travel out of the city and a local rickshaw guy had taken me here. I think you must see other places too before coming here.

Please don’t trust the auto driver. On the name sake they will say charge is very less. They will suggest all these shops and they will get comissions

They offer 100% silk and it's a lie.
I bought a scarf. I washed it when I got home and the fabric smells horrible.

Beware! Bought soap for Rs. 650 that was rs. 95 everywhere else. They sell things for 6-10 times the price! Big scam. Do not shop here!

This shop is a FRAUD. They pay commission to autowalas and horse carts pretending that they are Government related store and very authentic. The prices are HUGELY manipulated and kept twice the amount available outside. I visited Mysore for the first time and made a purchase of an wooden idol for a huge price. Once I returned home, I found that its not that good quality and also similar items available online at half price. Look at the other reviews on this store and maintain caution in making purchases at either this shop or any other shops in Mysore.

Fraudulent place. They have touts scamming tourists all over Mysore to visit this so called shop. Luckily we were able to find out about the scam they are running and didn’t spend even 5 minutes there.

This shop is fraud. They sell random sarees at the name of mysore silk. They fool you by showing silk mark symbol in the tag but it is not actually the silk mark. Neither is this place govt certified. They call it factory outlet so it looks like it. Beware!

Fake product…Fake shop…fraud people…have tie up with autowalas etc and will persuade people to buy from their store!

Good collection of karnataka silk sarees. Auto people compulsory visit you here. Reasonable to high cost saree available here.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS TOURIST TRAP! Auto and bus drivers and guides will direct you to this shop saying its a government shop, but its not. OVERPRICED and FAKE products. You will get a same product for 10 times cheaper in normal market.

They have tie with auto walas and tourist bus operates, over priced. Bought sandalwood billets and oil but they don't look genuine, state govt should take action before it spoils tourism of mysuru. Try ksic karnataka silk emporium outlet at hotel siddarnth they had better price at 1/3 price

Its surreal that i purchased a perfume which costed 700 in this store.its bizzare that it has no fragrance at all, Room freshner is way more longlasting than the random perfume they are selling out there, not suggested to buy any item in this store

Don't go here, fake shop and fake agents of theirs meet you on the way to mysore zoo, they tell that the zoo is closed and than tell you that sale going on this shop and divert you to this shop. DON'T GO HERE, Mysore police please take note of this

Duplicate items Agarbatti, Perfumes, Soaps bought but no fragrance. About Saree I will post in future after use. Not recommended.

This place is fraud.
They false claim that they are government shop. They are not.

Mysore tourism department and KSIC should ban such shops cheating customers in the name of Cauvery Emporium.

They have tied up with auto drivers, they befool people saying cleaning or some realistic excuse to make you believe that zoo is not open and they are driving you to government silk shop Cauvery Emporium.
The saaree they sell are not real silk.

Me and my friends purchased sarees and perfumes from this emporium and it turns out to be very low quality and not upto the price mark. Disgusting how they treat with the tourists and customers. They just try to stick the cheap products to your faces first.

This is the worst place for shopping, sarees are not of good quality and price is too high, it's a fraud shop, it is not at all recommended to purchase anything here

It’s a fake shop. They say that it’s government owned or unit of it. But in their bill it’s not mentioned. When you buy it from govt unit, it’s mentioned in bill. Also auto driver take you over there, they get commission

Absolutely fake shop they don’t have mrp on the product charge whatever they want. I bought from kauvery Coorg. Beware this is not actual shop actual spelling should be Cauvery which seems to be in Bangalore.

All the products I bought here are available at KSIEC at a cheaper price. I found 10-20% cheap rates for the same product. Sad that I didn’t visit KSIEC first.

Fraud Cheating
I brought saree of 4000 rs from here but I saw same saree in other shop named Cauvery in mysore itself at just 1499. They are fraudsters.

I bought 18000rs worth sarees but after coming to bangaluru i bought same saree in 1500 which they gave in 4000rs. They are frauds. I thought mysore silk is the best in world but this shop really cheats people.

Fake shop, Fake people, fake products. Don't ask any one about anything in Mysore. They will miss guide you and take you to this shop. Even rickshaw wala also give you false information. We

FAKE ALERT. Auto drivers leads you here. This a fake kauvery silk shop, not a goverment shop. DON'T TRUST AUTO DRIVERS WORDS. They will ripoff you.

Today I got scammed from one of the local auto guy. Auto guy comes near if your car number out-of mysore reg they behave like very nice and tell you that they will guide you to the place. Later they will say why you waste time going to the place. Actually I was going to RRR hotel where they had parking facilities this scammer looks like very decent putting one thilak and n all and he says you can just drop the car in front of emporium then you can go it's right behind the building n all. Later only you will realise this fellow wanted to make money he came here to drop us. So be careful with this mysore local autos don't believe anyone.

FRAUD place. YOU WILL BE CHEATED. This is not Government authentic Cauvery Emporium. This is a fake look alike. Cauvery Emporium and KSIC are the Govt authentic brand. They have copied the name NI Kauvery and also they have KSIEC emblem. Don't get cheated.
They have agents all around Mysore and get you to this place saying that there is a factory where they show how to extract oil. I had one agent tell me that today is Maharaja's anniversary and hence there is no GST and entry fees to the factory and he acted to go over to help you and brought me to this place. This is a fraud place and whatever you buy is not authentic and you get cheated.
Typical agents who bring you here are taxi drivers, Auto drivers and few mobile agents in scooters running around the city and act helpful and tell stories on no GST and they personally direct you to this place.

April 2022: An auto driver tried saying Maharaja birthday and routed us to this place while we were en route to Zoo. We didn't listen and went towards zoo. Again a biker said the same thing and we believed him. They all are together and it is a scam. Avoid this fake shop.

This is a scam shop, they are spoiling the name of mysore. They are tied up with local auto walas and scooter guys who will misguide you that today is maharaja aniversary and zoo will open late till then you can spend time in govt museum and they will guide you to this place. Govt should take strict action against these shops.

Very bad products, some product are waste and other are duplicate and having vermin in some products. Don't buy a single thing from him. Second thing they give very high price product, better whenever go to buy just put the price%3. Also i suggest to visit two three places and than buy anything.

Fake private Cauvery store, not govt store. Be aware when u buy Dhoop agarbatti, they sell fake branded ones. They will say the Government has changed the box and the one we have is genuine. If u want to buy they buy it inside Mysore place Cauvery store, its genuine govt shop.

Fake incense sticks and sandalwood oil. The sandalwood incense stick does not give any perfume of sandalwood. Sandalwood oil bottle is not even filled one fourth the bottle size. Do not buy anything from here. They are fake people to swindle your money. Strictly stay away.

This is not a govt.registered emporium. I asked several times but everytime they smartly claimed it to be a ksic shop. Later i found out that they lied. Auto drivers will canvass you and stop before this shop. They are fraud. Dont visit or buy anything from this shop.

It's a rip off of the original cauvery emporium. They put their own tags, whilst you can buy the same item for a lower price and better quality from the original government run store:

Its a good shop with huge collections of sarees garments handloom items. Wooden showpieces are also available. The rates are higher but i guess quality will be very good.
Thinking its government registered the price will be same in all their outles, i got cheated for the price. I purchased big sandalwood incense stick bundle inside mysore palace, its price was less by 100.
Overall its a big shop, with huge parking areas. Staffs were good ib handling customer.

These people cheat the customers. They have given a duplicate mysore sandal perfume and the tester which they showed was the good smelling original one. Doesnt deserve even 1 rating.

Beware and stay away from this place. This place is a big loot.
They have hired lot of people to fool outsiders and convince them to come here.
Many auto wala will come to your car and say palace is closed and tell you to visit here.

Handicrafts are good. Clothes collection I didn't like. It's better to visit cavery emporium if you want to be sure of the products and prices

Not worth to visit. Many auto drivers around are paid to take tourist to this place. However the prices are very very high.

Has plenty of variety of silks. And best of all, no GST. Apart from garments, this store also offers an enormous variety of sandal products and goods.

Very costly but traditional art and gift sets and perfumes r very good. Wood carvings and paintings displayed for sale r excellent, good workmanship.

Great place to shop precious gift items like silk, sandal wood, items made out of sandal woods. Collection is great. Prices for some products are higher than best available in the market however still satisfactory. One can go there, it is situated in the middle of the city.

This is not a original govt. Cauvery store that is operated by government of Karnataka! Be careful while shopping here as they are selling all duplicate items in the name of original sandalwood! Also when asked they would say that this is a govt.store WHICH IS SUCH A BIG LIE THESE GUYS NARRATE TO THE TOURISTS LIKE US!

Place is good but if you are searching for KSIC which is govt silk shop then this is not it.
Your auto driver will say that mysore Palace gate is closed for 30 min so you can go and shop some saree. But don't accept it. Coz mysore palace never closes the gate for 30 min. Maybe the items are good here nd costly but THIS IS NOT THE GOVT SILK SHOP. Just another private shop which is running well enough for the drivers commission

It's a govt recognized shop.wide variety of silk sarees and handicrafts available. They HV offers on first 2 and last 2 days of every month where in the goods will be sold GST free.
