The museum had great presentations but there was no staff for guided tour. If nobody explains about the brain samples then what is the purpose of visit. Three star only for the great presentations. But need some improvement.
Nice to gain knowledge.no entry fee.wud surely have been worth the fee had they charged.try to catch the lecture if possible.happens twice a day.check timings

The brain museum at NIMHANS allows the public to visit only on Wednesdays and Saturdays till 4.30PM. During my visit, a research scholar explained all the other organs of a human body, in addition to the wide variety of brain specimens present there, ranging from baby brains to adult brains, and the brains affected by diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, and also the brains that were declared dead due to accidents and head injuries. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the museum.
If you are coming to Nimhans then once u get a free time on Wednesday after lunch come to this museum at 2.30pm and i am sure about that you will not feel boring about this. It will help to know all about brain, and it's working process in a simple way through one of the Nimhans guide.

They will explain by having real human brain and other organs as well like heart, pancreas, liver, etc. Finally they will allow you to touch the organs if you wish. Try to arrive the museum 5 or 10 mins before so that you will understand the concept from the scratch.
I was literally shocked when I enter into the museum, it's not big though just kind of practical room of doctors but it was memorable. They have literally preserve the normal brain and brains with different different disease. If you are curious to know one should definitely visit. Photography is highly prohibited so not able to take any. But do visit only if you are curious.
They don't charge. You just have to provide basic details to security for check in.

Interesting experience with different brain samples of animals and humans under various conditions and diseases. Also you can touch some if the human organs like brain, lungs, heart, spleen, kidney and liver.
A great hospital with great facility and great doctors. Only thing is that the fourth grade stuffs always give priority to the local language speaking people. But doctors and juniors never do this differentiate.
This is a sprawling museum solely dedicated to medical science. The museum is a part of the very famous National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences off the Hosur Road in Bangalore. This idea was the brain child of Professor S. K. Shankar, who was a teacher of Neuropathology. They started this place first as a mere lab to educated students persuing medicine but then took the noble step of educating the public. They had to first take permission about gathering parts of the brains of dead people during autopsy and now when you enter this place you find it all set. The main motive is to show ]what difference is shown externally on our brains due to any injury or disease. The brains of people suffering from haemorrhage, schizophrenia and other accidents are shown clearly out here. Not only is this a very new and interesting experience but also very educative. Best Time to Visit: 11: 00 am to 4: 00 pm Opening Hours: 10: 00 am - 6: 00 pm Best Months: October to February Free 133 out of 319 attractions in Bengaluru
