Good food with reasonable price. Really enjoyed the crab ghee roast and the special fish thali. A must try spot for fish lovers.

We were here for dinner on a heavily rainy evening. Writing this review is making my mouth water.

On the suggestion of the owner of the place, we tried the shellfish sukka which was perfectly cooked and roasted with grated coconut. The crab roast was spicy and hot, just what we needed in that weather. The prawn curry was tender and flavourful and went very well with hot rice and chapathi.

Overall it was a hearty meal and will visit again if I'm in gokarna again.

Best sea food at unbeatable price. Sea food is fresh. We tried crab and fish fry, both were great.

The quality of fish here is excellent. You can taste how fresh it is. The quantity is also very good. Really liked the white snapper rava fry which kept us coming back for more!

Food is not good and all their dishes are prepared in coconut oil. We have tried many dishes but all are very expensive and not tasty.

Open house fish land on IB road is one of the many sea food restaurants in Gokarna. They have great seafood, tasted fresh and their blend of masala is something in and of itself. Definitely worth trying if you like sea food.

Food is good. Mangalorian style crab sukka, prawn kabab is nice. Fish Thali is on type. Try ala carte. Ambiance is not nice.

Absolutely disappointed.
I read alot of review before coming here. Was actually excited to explore fish since this is a coastal area and hence my expectations on freshness of fish was maximum.

What I liked?
We ordered Squid (Calamari) masala fry - it was quite decent.
Samdale tawa fry - batter for fish was quite good but felt Over cooked. Fish wasn’t that fresh. Seemed to be frozen.

What I hated?
Crab Sukka- B. S! There was no meat in the crab. Unusually meat melted away: (
Thali - this is my perspective, taste differ person to person. This was probably worst coastal Thali I ever had. I have tried Kerala Meals, Mangalorean, Karwar style, Goan, and Mumbai fish Thali. This was quite below standard. Gravy is suppose to be the soul of Thali but it was too tangy. Which over power the whole meal for me.

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to explore Thali’s.

If you want to explore only fish try Prawns, Seer/king fish, Mackarel/Bangda, sandale, Silver fish. This is slightly safer bet but don’t expect it to be fresh all the time.

Added butter milk to my meal, was refreshing for the humid weather.

Gokarna has slightly disappointed me today. I expect this place to have warm earthy feel to its meal.

This is one among the best seafood outlets that i have dined at, during my stay in gokarna. The unexpected timing of my visit to gokarna was during the off season. For the same reason, most of the outlets that I visited, lacked the vibe and the taste. The crowd was completely Indian. Not a single, Non-Indian. But this place, compensated for it all. The dishes that we tried, were the fish thali and prawn thali. Both were really good. The prawns thali was exceptional. We also tried out their fish rava fry. Same, was one of the best i have tried, yet. Maybe i should also mention that i haven't had a great experience l, with rava fish fry. This may have been the best one yet.

Note: I got to try food at the shacks in gokarna. Maybe it was because of the off season, ; maybe it was the lack of interest by the people who ran these shacks. The food tasted really bad or blank. But at Open house fish land, everything was really good. One among the must visit places. They do arrange for beer, if you ask for it

This is a wonderful restaurant serving fresh seafood, and has great service. If you are visiting Gokarna, and you want to try the local cuisine, you must definitely eat here.

The food was really delicious. The spice was Apt and worth the amount you pay for the dishes. Do try their Rawa Prawn!

We were served fresh sea food. Cooking is done in a tasty manner and served hot. We enjoyed varities of fish items, especially Phamplet, Kaane and Anjal fry. Cost is very reasonable and staff are customer friendly and help us in choosing the food.

Small heaven for sea food lovers. And those who don't love seafood will fall in love with it.
They serve chicken n eggs too. Veg food is also served.
Limited number of seats so one has to be patient enough to wait for their turn.
The host we called him Anna was very nice and served us food as if we are his relatives.

Read reviews and thought of trying food here. On Sunday, the place looked completely empty of any people and vehicles from outside. We thought it maybe not be great and left. After searching for a good seafood hotel, we found none and thought of checking this place one more time. The food was lovely, service was great and we had the best seafood here in gokarna. Its a small shack kind of seating rooms and doesn't look like a restaurant, otherwise food was great

Seafood is yummy you can carry your drinks at this place. But not really recommend for families.
Boys group are fine.

We had visited this small local restaurant in gokarna on 27/01/2022. It was referred by a localite. It was truly an amazing place for food lovers. We had taken Crab soup and fish thali which were both awesome in taste. Especially their fish curry was out of the world

Kind a ok ok. We tried surmai meal but felt the fish fry was lil uncooked. Didn't like much the other it's items in the thali. But the prawns kebab and crab sukka were really delicious and must try.

Absolutely amazing place.specially in Gokarna which is not the best seaside resort for the non veg starved. Fresh fare of fish, prawns and crabs served with local flavour and at reasonable rates. Need a lot of guts to sit and eat there though.a take away is recommended. For dinners it's isolated an dark so better choose lunch hours.

We tried different places for lunch slash dinner in gokarna including the one we were staying at-cgh.
By far the best food was in fish land.hands down.we tried prawns fry dry, king fish fry, bhangra fry, dal, veggie, chapati n salad.it was the best and would highly recommend the place to all.run by Naveen torke who is very hospitable. Seafood available is fresh at this place.

I am not a fan of sea food but this was “the best fish meal I ever had” absolutely tasty and delicious food I highly recommend if you don’t mind eating in hut style environment. Right masala and spices pure taste loved it

When asked for a decent place for sea food in gokarna, most of the people suggested this place.

Actually it's costly if you asked me but 120rs fish meal is worth after all side dish 350rs. It's very costly for this location n ambience

Food worth every penny. Small place run by the locals serves authentic seafood. Fish and everything used is so fresh. Highly recommended.

I had wonderful seafood dinner at this place. I visited thrice and i have tried almost all of their sea food varieties. Surmai fish fry, crab sukkha and prawn sukkha are my favourite. I also like lady finger fish fry whish is a local fish. Given the ambience I found it a bit pricey.

It's a quaint little eatery tucked away en route to Om Beach, and it would be foolish to skip out on paying Fish Land a visit 'cause it's the best place in town for seafood.

I'd recommend the tawa prawns and the crab sukka, but check with them to see what they recommend.

The best sea food restaurant, one should surely visit, we got to eat fresh fishes, and the meal was delicious. Clean cottages to eat.

We went to this place looking at the reviews and it does not disappoint. It may be a smalll place but the food is amazing. Freshly caught seafood that is perfectly cooked and wonderfully spiced is served here. They offer a wide range of fish, crab, squid and prawns. We sampled some of the variety of foods and were delighted with the freshness and flavour
Great place to eat with the family

A small outdoor restaurant which serves local sea food cuisine. It's a small place with limited seating so be prepared to wait for your turn, but you won't be disappointed. The range of sea food items are mind-blowing and the food is awesome. Starting with simple fish curry rice to oyster sukka, crab sukka, different fish fries and prawns. Moderately priced, this is a restaurant that has to be visited if you land in Gokarna. Parking facilities are limited inside the place, but lots of places on the surroundings.

Its very good place to have a great food. Most Exotic sea food is available.

White & Black Pomfret, tiger prawn, Shark, Squid, Tuna, Seer etc.

Taste is awesome, food preparation is hygienic and we can see how they cook. Owner is very humble and you will get most of the exotic food with low or reasonable price. 3 shacks are there and they are small, though they small they have very good ventilation. Total shacks can accommodate not more than 20 people at a time.

I gave only 4 star because of the cats. Cats are every where near the shacks for food leftover and sea food leftovers, they will roam around you for leftovers.
Hand wash sink looks different may be a local type, and not that much in great maintenance.

A must try place if you love sea food or non veg for that matter! Very budget friendly for the quality/taste they provide. Try the tawa fry items, we tried tawa fried crabs, prawns, king fish, red snapper and some other fish that I can't pronounce, also the ghee roast chicken and there were no other sea food items available for us to try.but I'm pretty sure we would have loved those too as none of the items let us down. Awesome taste for each and every item. If you're in gokarna then should try this place at least once. You'll get your own sack, you'll love the food.

Extremely tasty sea food. Crab fry, king fish fry, Dodhi fry is must try. Restaurant looks normal but food is super awesome. Do visit this place whenever you are in gokarna. It's near to hanuman katte.

When i reached there at around 8.45 pm, i was the only customer.very small place.i was delighted.like a backyard.food is first rate, maybe not earth shatteringly good, but very flavoursome.had prawn masala, 4 chapatis and half plate rice, all under 400 rs.filling and delicious.absolutely worth your while if you are looking for good home cooked style food away from regular restaurants, which i am always looking out for.would like to visit again if i get the opportunity.the host is very warm without being intrusive.all in all, a great place.
