Pretty Dan Good Salon - Academy

I am writing this review after being a regular here for the last 1.5 years. This is the only salon I have been to for haircuts and hair spas.

This is the perfect salon for curly or way haired people. The stylists are trained to style curly hair. This is highly recommended if you want to try out a CG salon.

For me the best part was that the stylist didn't try to cross sell any random treatment by criticizing my hair quality. In fact, they don't suggest any treatment that your hair doesn't really need. This is so rare these days. This is one of the reasons that makes me come back to this place.

I have been styled by Henry and Deepa. Both were pateint and meticulous.

Their appointment process may seem a bit stringent but I can live with that.

This is the best salon for curly/wavy hair. I have visited twice for a haircut and both the times took Dipa's help. She is so patient and so understanding. The salon does not force you to buy any products from them (huge plus). The pricing is reasonable too compared to all the other salons.

This was my first time here. Danny - the owner is a jovial and warm conversationalist. It was nice to see him interact him different clients talking to all with equal attention and interest. He’s a good mentor to his trainees, he was regularly appreciating them for things they were doing well and giving them feedback constructively. Also, thank you Sanjana for my haircut! Will definitely recommend going here

Very bad quality nails. Broke off within a month whereas in other salons it stays for longer.don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Got a curly haircut from Dipa. She styled it so beautifully using the finger coiling technique. She told me how to maintain my curly hair on an everyday basis. She was awesome at her work. The total amount for curly haircut with Dipa is Rs. 1200. Book an appointment and then visit the salon. Love your work.

The receptionist and few staffs are with too much attitude, inspite of paying the price they ask us for they want us to settle to their accessibility. Not at all customer friendly I had my appointment at 4: 30 n then I told them to reschedule it to 5 n I went there n I just wanted to have a fringes and hair wash only for that they asked me if it’s ok if I skip the blow dry inspite of having lost of time. They stylist said she couldn’t finish i Litreally had to walk out without gttng my service done

Did not have a great experience. We were given an appointment for 2PM and were told that the appointment will be kept on hold till 2.30PM. We reached the salon at 2.35PM and we were sent back without any service. We paid for the booking of the appointment and it is non-refundable. This was our first visit to this salon and may be will be the last.

Forever giving a break to the intense chemical treatments and regrowing my curls? Danny does some magic @ prettydangoodsalonandacademy. Aslam did a fabulous job in shampooing, conditioning and finger curling my hair. Those who know me knows that I am all about the gut instincts and connection, and looks like I might have found my hair stylist in Danny? ️ He is just a very good human and a talented hair stylist who focuses on healthy hair than marketing products ️

Expert stylist… knew exactly how to handle curly hair… familiar with curly girl method and do not use silicone in your hair! Would recommend to fellow curlies

I have been going to Danny for a while now for my hair cuts. He really knows how to style and pamper curly hair. In addition he is encouraging, skilled and kind. He is also genuine in his recommendations.
At my request he suggested lowlights for my hair.dipa did this for me and she is meticulous, gentle and very competent in what she does.
I really feel prettydan good and at my age that's a bit of a challenge to feel.

Had a lovely time @ PDG! Deepa assisted me with the hair coloring, she patiently listened to my requirements and did exactly what I was looking forward to. Being a newbie with hair coloring she suggested the right color and also guided me on how to maintain it. And the best part - no gimmicks, no product selling etc. Also to add, I had a great cup of coffee made at the pantry section of the salon! I am definitely coming back here

PS. I wanted to keep the natural look so didn't opt for the blow dry.

Been a regular here since mid 2021, they’re really good at what they’re doing, they’ll listen to what you’re looking for, make suggestions that would suit your hair type and work with you.
They’re happy to give you product and treatment suggestions that would work for you.
Best Bit is they are available to take appointments over WhatsApp. (20/10 great for my social anxiety)

I have been going to Pretty Dan Good (previously Rock paper scissors) from 2016 and have never been disappointed. My go to for hair has always been Danny, the co-owner of Pretty Dan good. Not only is he approachable but so easy to talk to. He understands hair and shares his thoughts on what would look good on you. He is also a specialist in curly hair, and has oodles of knowledge on what works and what does not. The team at Pretty dan good is polite and very amiable. The personal touch is what makes this salon so special.

I waited months to get an appointment and I was NOT disappointed AT ALL!

Dan is everything I want in a hairstylist. He was extremely patient, heard all my concerns, and waked me through a holistic haircare process - one that covered food, topical care, and more, one that didnt involve buying/using any high end products or fancy treatments.

We spoke throughout my hair cut and I was honestly taken aback because not once did he make me feel insecure about my hair or scalp, not once did he push any treatment or product on me:) Oh and not to miss, the price was honestly economical too when compared to all the other salons I've been to even though they havent done half as good as Dan.

It was a great experience! Danny really understands curly hair and the intricacies of it. He’s very patient and knowledgable as well. For the first time had a good haircut experience which didn’t involve even a bit of aggressively detangling my hair.

I went to the salon yesterday for hair color. Preeti advised me that since it was my first time experimenting with hair color, I should not bleach my hair and wait for my hair dye to wear out. She patiently explained how I need to prep for hair coloring as a 6 months plan! Loved the sincerity with which she kept customers forst, and not her business.

I'm so happy with my haircut here!:) I got Preeti to cut my hair. She is such a pro. Her communication, and her execution was so great. She gave me exactly what I wanted, but a better version of it. The entire team seems very professional. My favorite Bangalore salon!

I got my hair styled and cut by Danny. He is genuinely enthusiastic about hair! He enjoys working with curly hair, a huge delight! Not once did he try upselling any hair products.

The salon maintained precautions, everyone had masks on and was expected to have masks on. My appointment started dot on time. Friendly staff!

Daniel (the style director) gave me a great haircut and shared many useful tips to maintain my curls and improve hair quality. I've had a lot of poor haircuts in the past and it was refreshing to finally find someone that could do a good job with my naturally curly hair.

I am surprised to give this salon 2 star as I have been an old client of Danny. Today went for a haircut as yesterday I got late for by 30mins. I was expecting a good haircut but this time I feel my hair was just trimmed and nothing else.there was no change that I could make out and i was disappointed coz Danny is known for his haircuts. And I am travelling next week so was expecting a good haircut Danny!

Curly girls, look no further. I haven’t been this happy with a haircut in years. Dan truly understood how my curls work (I kept waiting for him to slip up, but he never gave me a chance). He also perfectly understood and met my very specific needs for length and volume. Very impressed!

This saloon is just a hype. When i went there couple days back my hair used to come till my waist their seniors stylist suggest me to get it cut down to till my shoulder length as per her it was dried I was ok with that but she has cut my hair so uneven from bottom whoever sees my hair ask me where have you took such creepy hair cut. My customer experience was also not so good Just Showing attitude and arogance to your customer is not called talent.

This review is purely based on the past two experiences. I have visited the salon in the past when I have had important occasions, meetings or conferences. The haircut had always been decent, not great. The stylists would as usual try to push their products on you. And I would go back to my regular hair cut guy. But the last two haircuts have been really worth mentioning. They have a new guy called Nayaz who did my hair really well. He's comfortable in speaking in Hindi mainly and they asked me if I would be ok with that. I was. And thankfully. As he is really good and got exactly how I wanted my haircut to be. He is professional and does not impose any products on you and ensures that you get what you pay for!

Curly girls and guys in the area, this is the best place to go for a haircut. They understand hair and the best part - no up-selling of products.

Danny is recommended for curly hair styles. But before going do wash your hair well as they have extra charges (rs. 450) to wash, if you had a nice hair oil massage, a day before!

Whenever I think of a haircut it's always been, Danny's salon.

But this visit to Danny's has made me respect them more. Well as new mom I missed my appointment and my haircut had to be done by Pema.

Pema is exceptionally professional and gave me the right advice for styling my hair.

My lill bub got cranky half the way. The sstaffs were highly accommodating to breastfeed my child. There were no wierd looks given to me by the staff or the clients but I was given a comfortable chair to sit and feed my little one.

A new mother feels extremely hard to feed the child in places like India where we get body shamed / given awful looks and we ultimately rush to a washroom and feed the baby.
Which is terrible.

The hospitality was overwhelming and the service provided was exceptional.

We need more places like Rock paper scissors-bangalore.
