The coastal ambiance was calming, adorned with nautical elements. The prawn ghee roast were succulent and perfectly done, bursting with flavors. The pomfret fish fry had a delightful blend of spices and a true delight for the taste buds. Had ordered kheema masala, neer dosa and pundi and everything was perfect. Attentive service and a variety of seafood options make this a decent choice for seafood enthusiasts.
I would rate them negative! I had placed an order for Anjal masala fry and it turned out to be not fresh. Hence asked them to replace but we got the same fish again and they weren't ready to cancel it and ended up paying 900 bucks for it without even having the food. Highly disappointed with their service and food. They should have atlst given us a discount. They are least bothered about customer satisfaction. They just want to sell out their stock basically!
Since I was veg on this particular day. I tried a few veg dishes that left me pleasantly surprised.
The paneer Satay was the best I've had in Bangalore so far. The mushroom ghee roast was fantastic paired with the neer dosa.
We had plain rice with Mango Menaskai which was delicious.
For dessert we had ordered the coconut souffle which had too much gelatin so we asked them to replace it with a mango cheescake. And what a amazing decision that was cause the Mango cheesecake was out of this world. Will give the coconut souffle another try next time cause it must have been an off day.
The place where you get transported to Mangaluru. The food tastes amazing, very authentic and the price is also reasonable. I'm vegetarian, but my friends who had non-veg were very happy with the way the protein was cooked and loved the curry in it. The staff are friendly and help you to make choices. I was pretty impressed with the speed of the service. People who want North Indian option also have the same. However, i would suggest you to taste the coastal food served here.
Good place to have coastal sea food. We ordered prawn ghee roast, Anjali fry, chicken lolipop, chicken pulimunchi and neer dosa and with chocolate ice cream scoop. Overall, all the dishes were excellent. Food was served fast and hot. The place has two doors, one to family restaurant and one to bar. You can sit in both areas and order the same food with no price difference between the two areas. Needless to say, as sea food is involved, food prices are on the higher side.
You will get tasty Mangalorean dishes here. Ambience is very nice; there is also an outdoor sitting place. The staffs are polite and courteous; their service also seemed to be professional. You must try ghee roast with neer dosa and not to mention about the tender coconut souffle. You must try the tender coconut souffle for dessert if you are going there. The egg stew (prepared in coconut milk) was also nice. Yetti Pundi (rice dumplings soaked in prawn gravy) was of average taste to us; but you may like it.
I had one complaint about this place back then when they were in the old building, that was the delay in serving the food. Which now has been significantly better, not sure if it's due to their new location. Oh talking about the new location! Love it! Amazing ambience, feels homely, and subtle music in the background.
The food still tastes amazing! We rdered prawns ghee roast, crab sukka, chicken kundapura masala, aapam, semige, bonda sherbat and coconut souffle. Every dish was amazing and felt like I went back to my hometown, Udupi. This is your one stop shop for reliving the south canara food.
Mr. Dheeraj Shetty our waiter was courteous and helpful. Great food, great music, tummy full and oh! They speak Tulu, Kannada, English and Hindi.
It is an authentic tulunadu cuisine in bangalore The food tastes so much like mangalorean hotels There is a wide variety of sea foods. But the prices are towards higher side. (ask the rates bfr ordering the fishes). The ambience is simple and well maintained. Ghee roast dishes is a must try. Must try is any curry (the base if the curries is really awesome) and fish items of ur taste and budget. They do have bar facility Cons - it is situated in main road so parking cars may be difficult to find places
We came on Sunday evening, ambience is good. Food was good, we ordered pitcher of sangria, bangude (mackrel) masala fry, king fish (anjal) masala fry, calamari (squid) ghee roast, green chicken masala, chicken pepper fry, briyani, kerala parotta and chicken masala. All came to around 4k.
I like chicken pepper fry but my friends liked the green chicken masala. Fish was good but little expensive, it costed 550 Rs.
Delicious food and excellent service. Start with the soul curry and prawn ghee roast.top it up the crabs and may be the appan and chicken stew if not full already.don't forget the coconut pudding desert to end it all.loved it.
Mutton ghee roast and mutton curry was not properly cooked. Only good thing was appam. Disappointed by the quality of food. I have been to this place before but recently when i visited this place i was really upset with the quality of food.
As usual, solkadi got over. Great place for Mangalorean cuisine. Seemed understaffed and longer wait times. But food was worth the wait. Has valet parking but entrance is easy to miss while driving. No lift, only stairs to reach the 1st floor restaurant post covid.
Costal Karnataka brought to Bangalore. Good Food esp Ghee roast, Neer Dosa. Nice ambience to catch up with friends or family. Good place for conversation and food. ️
Excellent decor. Great food. Manglorean style of cooking. While self parking is limited, the restaurant provides valet parking which I highly recommend if you are driving. Many varieties of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Wine can be had, but no other alcohol is served. Quite a few cocktail choices. Very cozy feel. Suitable for solo dining.
Decent place for mangalore style food. Fish fry is very good. All serving ppl from mangalore side only. Marwai dish is also there and you ll get it sometimes. When i went it was not available. Neer dosa and fish curry is very good combination. Ambience is also good and food is reasonable. They have dessert prepared by tender coconut which is very good.
I am from coastal Karnataka Mangalore. And i must say Pulimunchi has the best seafood in Bangalore. I love the ghee roast and the tender coconut souffle is the best.
Food is excellent. Service could be better. We had to wait at the entrance for almost 10 mins and no one even attended to us. We had to demand a table.
Tonight I visited Aswath nagar Pulimunchi, no doubt food was yum but the manager/cashier named Yatheesh was very rude and he doesn't know to greet the customers, untrained and unprofessional. Worst so called manager at Pulimunchi. Now I am not gonna come back.
The Ghee roast (crab, mutton, egg, mushroom) was all amazing. The neer dosa was perfect. I have realized that their appams take a long time to come so the food gets cold so neer dosa was a better option. Coming to the most important bit - their tender coconut souffle is what brings all my friends from all parts of the world to this place.
Great food. I loved the neer dosa and potato curry. My friend who is fish aficionado gave five stars to pulimunchi fish curry. Incidentally pulimunchi means tamarind (puli) and pepper (munchi) important ingredients in Mangalore cuisine. The tender coconut souffle wasn't there though and they only serve wine.no alcohol
Food was good, but the service wasn't great. The staff who took our order forgot to get our main course after giving the starter.layer when we order for Payasam, there was no sweet at all in the same. However that was corrected when we raised the issue, yet it was time consuming any we had to get back to office as we had a client along with us.
Pulimunchi is one of the die-for places when I think about seafood. I particularly enjoy their fish and shrimp preparations and looooove their tender coconut suffle. Oh believe me it's amazing. Highly recommend if you are a sea food lover and enjoy the mangalorean style of preparation.
