One of a kind place around davanagere, showcasing the past history of the place. Nice place for a evening hangout. Well maintained premises, gets crowded on weekends with many school and College goers and pitstop for travellers
A lovely, picturesque landmark, close to Davangere. Very clean and well maintained tank with a central pavilion and six other mantapas all around. The decorations on the central pavilion like images of elephants, lions and birds are finely made. There are steps leading to the water on all four sides, but going near water is prohibited. A large stone building called Musafirkhana stands in front of the tank. The signboard kept in the premises does not give any information about the period or purpose of the pushkarini, so its historical importance is unknown.
It's pretty hot during the day here. Best to visit in the evenings. No entry fee. Pushkarani has fish that you can watch. The water is not super clean but ok. Part (older) of it is ancient Hindu architecture and you can see Vishnu, Hanuman, Devi carvings on structures surrounding the pushkarani; but it looks like some parts were destroyed and built over the older structure in Mughal Dome style.
Splendid place. Visited in the afternoon of Oct’22 on the same day of Chitradurga Fort visit. Really liked this 16th century Indo-arabian style architecture by king Nayaka and 17th century Musafirkhana during Hyder Ali’s reign. Lots of pegion, heron, parrots can be spotted. The pond is full of fishes of different species and tortoises. You must visit!
Beautiful and large Pushkarani with an awesome multi-storeyed magnificent stone mantapa known as Vasantha Mantapa in the centre, looking as if its floating on the water! Serene place to spend an evening Loved the architecture Well maintained by ASI Sad to see few plastic bags floating here n there on the waters. P. S: Do not litter, dispose the plastics n waste responsibly
Very good place for one day visit here we can see the Indian traditional styled architecture of pushkarani in front of it a Arabic architecture style musafir khanaa. Building is very big.the puskarani had 8 small house like structure at each corner and at centers Its always filled with water so we can find aquatic animals in it People use to feed them.
