This is part of
Nagar Empire and this empire was rich and massive. The whole empire was very majestic and well planned, it had Grand Temples, Palaces, Art Arena, Global trading hub. Unfortunately, this precious history was destroyed by moughals, and all we are left with are the ruins to imagine what a great and well planned empire this was. A must visit place.

It's a must visit place for all heritage enthusiasts and students. The whole complex doesn't maintain any accessibility with vehicles which I felt is a bit sloth system.

During our family tour to ‘Magical Hampi’ in Karnataka, we gave a visit to ‘Queen’s Bath’. It is located at a distance of 1 km from Kamalapur Bus Stand and 3 km from Hampi Bus Stand. The Queen's Bath is believed to be constructed for the women of the royal family of Vijayanagara. It is a rectangular building and is surrounded by ornate balconies, each having a set of three windows. There is a pool & the depth of the pool is 6 feet and has stone steps leading to the bottom of the tank. The Queen's Bath is an empty structure now.

It's beautiful to see the historical places and learn how royals and other people lived before the technology took over. This place is beautiful. The water mechanism and rain water harvesting arr really applauding! Some extra miles to increase the tourism should be taken. Such a beautiful place should not be sitting without appreciation of people.

The Queen’s Bath in Hampi is a colossal bath that exemplifies the architectural excellence prevalent during the days of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is located close to the entrance of the Royal Enclosure in Hampi. Constructed during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire, the Queen’s Bath impresses visitors even today, more than 500 years after it was built. The Queen’s Bath is believed to be constructed by Achyuta Raya for the women of the royal family of Vijayanagara. Though named as the Queen’s Bath, it was in all probability used as the private bathing chamber of the king and his queens. It is also believed that the lavish bath was a royal pleasure complex. This belief is due to the location of the bath, which is outside the Royal Enclosure. The Queen’s Bath is an elaborate structure with a simple exterior and an ornate interior. Built in the Indo-Islamic style of architecture, this striking enclosed space is designed to be unique than any other private or public bath in Hampi. The Queen’s Bath is a rectangular building. The structure has an area of 30 square metres. A large sunken bath constructed in the centre of the structure has an area of 15 square metres and a depth of 1.8 metres. The bath is surrounded by beautiful arched corridors having pillars and projecting ornate balconies with windows.

Each arched bay surrounding the bath is decorated with intricate carved stucco ornamentation on the ceilings and the vaults placed above the arched bays. There are stone steps that lead down to the floor of the bath. However, there is no ceiling over the bath and it is open to the sky.

Hampi has an ostentatious network of aqueducts and canals that were built to provide water to the buildings, tanks, baths and temples during the ancient days. Like other public baths in Hampi the Queen’s Bath is also connected to an aqueduct for fresh water supply. The building has a moat surrounding it on all sides.

There is a bridge to cross the moat and reach the bath. It is believed that the moat was designed to prevent anyone from entering the building while the bath was in use.

This is a monument at Hampi the world heritage centre of 7th century Vijaya Nagara Empire. The Queens bath was constructed at that time for the use of the Queen. The architecture is wonderful and is a marvellous piece of engineering till now.

Just wonder how lavish the queen's lifestyle was. A 15 ft deep swimming pool, spread across 15 sq mt, with water channels inside and outside the walls. Just amazing!
31 मई 2019 20:32
In modern words, It's actually a swimming pool built for queen. I am still wondering how they thought of building it in those times.
29 मई 2019 10:44
Within walking distance from the kamalapura bus stop, it shouldnot take more than 10 mins for the Queen's bath. The structure is interesting (whats left of it), but dont expect much from this enclosure. What you see in the fotos is all that is. This is the 1st spot when you turn from the main road.within walkabke distance are also the royal enclosure and the Zanana enclosure with the elephant stables akd the lotus mahal.

Pretty nice building, it's funny to think about how it should've looked when the bath was still in use, hundreds of years ago. Now it's still impressive to see, a shame of all the scribbles and names on inside walls though.

Queen’s Bath is constructed by Achyuta Raya (younger brother of Krishnadevaraya who succeeded him) for the royal women of Vijayanagar Empire.
It is a rectangular building with a simple exterior but an ornate interior.
The large 6 ft deep pool at the centre is surrounded by beautiful arched corridors with pillars & balconies with a set of 3 windows.
The pool has no ceiling but has stone steps leading to the bottom of the tank.
It is surrounded by a moat on all sides

Another stunning architectural contribution of Vijayanagara empire in thier capital. The structure is indo-islamic. A 10 feet deep moat surrounds the structure, an aqueduct would have taken water from the nearby canals into the bath. The bath had an elaborate draining and replenishing mechanism. The bath is surrounded by viewing galleries on all sides, perhaps meant for members of royal family.
03 मई 2019 13:27
Want to give 3.5* as it's better than 3. Very much at walkable distance from Kamalapura Bus stop. It opens at 8.30 a.m. So the travelers can finish visiting this and other nearby spots by 11 a.m. To avoid getting sun burnt. Queen's bath has a bath channel outside and has nice looking basement inside the bath palace. The design and architect is Royal enough. It's a 2 story structure with a dome at top and so many ventilators to keep this humble bath cool in summer days. Maintenance is top class and the gardening is also good.
22 अप्रैल 2019 16:54
The place has been a little hampered with as there are a lot of names carved on the walls by a lot of people who have visited the place before. There are renovations taking place but because of this the authenticity of the place has diminished and there are alterations to the original architecture and design of the place. A good guide will be able to explain to you everything that has taken place there, down to the history of the place and the destruction which has taken place to this historical monument even before the modern times.
12 अप्रैल 2019 8:33
Its not that informative and it takes not more than 10mins to have a look. It's built in the form of the present swimming pool where a slope of shallow and deep can be seen. Just not that great

These pillars are believed to have been part of a canopy that was destroyed during the Mughal's attacks on Hampi. The canopy is supposed to have been made of wood and is said to have been burnt down. Though the canopy was never put back over the bath, a small blooming garden has been laid out in front of the building. It is used by visitors as a picnic spot.

Historical place, attracts lots of tourists. Avoid visiting in summer as temperature is unbearable in summer.

Has seen a lot of destruction at its peak by the invaders and has also seen a lot of destruction from the modern day miscreants who scribble on the walls of the ancient building. Very unfortunate state and hence needs lots of protection from such acts. The queens bath is a tank surrounded by a structure which was primarily used by the queens to bathe. It is constructed in the indo Islamic style and hence has not seen too much damage. A must see when in hampi
09 सितंबर 2018 14:42
It's build in info Islamic style.it has steps to go down.but now a day's restricted.the square bath have got stone carved pipelines to fetch water.around two metre deep bath. A nice place to be included in hampi's visit.

Well maintained place. There are other places nearby such as Lotus temple and royal.enclosure.l'll suggest to visit this at last after lotus temple and royal enclosure.

Need more monitoring of the place as unscrupulous visitors have etched in their signatures on the walls showing scant value for our monuments.

This has Indo Islamic architecture, also the place is not restored yet. People have scribbled all over, some roof decorations are worth observing.
