Best place to visit with family where everyone can enjoy your weekend. This place gives you village vibes. Where you can buy the quality things directly form formers, Weaver's which is really good concept. If you are a foodie then you are going to love this place here you're going get all the homemade foods and snacks which are delicious.and try the traditional game where you will get know about 90's games.
Visited them on a Sunday post noon. Farm to table kinda deal at one place. Besides produce, you’ll find ethically processed (mostly hand made) goods - hand made soaps, moisturiser, lip balms, clothing, cleaners, ready to mix masalas, all of which contain natural ingredients and grandma/near forgotten recipes, wooden toys & games, other accessories for kitchen. They also host simple vegetarian meals, where they use ingredients available on the day to craft out lunch menu. Do note that merchandise available here, is priced higher when you compare them with their counterparts at big box retail outlet. Your purchase though would be supporting your local community & small business owners. I will visit them again. Brief list of items I found are
1. Desi outlet - clothing & accessories 2. Naturally farmed grains, wild honey, grain powder, millets, rock sugar (orange) 3. Home made - ghee, cookies (jaggery for sweetness), dry fruit balls, ready to eat/mix powders (puliogare, red chutney powder, curry powder, methi etc), ragi mixtures, smoothie, sugarless Indian sweets (jaggery/honey/anjeer/dates/fruits are used to substitute sugars), dry roti 4. Kitchen utensils - cast iron pans, wooden utensils, earthen pots 5. Toys & board games - traditional Indian toys like top, Rubik’s cube (Indian version), ludo (Indian version), many others 6. Cleaners - toilet, tiles, clothes, stain remover, sanitizers, made from natural ingredients
Great place to visit to unwind. Nice environs, good village fare, handicrafts, organic food, heritage artifacts and food. They do conduct workshops and demonstrations periodically on theatre, dance forms, farming, arts
Too much of sounds. We are in next residential area. We had kids elderly people at home. Getting too much of drums sounds on every weekend. Please stop so much of noise and disturbance
Unique place and wonderful potpourri of items for people to buy and gain knowledge. A nice place with village atmosphere away from the concrete jungle to enjoy with family on a sunday
Farmers market opens every Sunday only inside a school. All natural and organic vegetables, fruits, oil and flour are available for sale. Good place to visit for organic and natural products.
You will get that village vibe when you visit this place. If you are planning to get fresh vegetables visit in the morning hours. This is located in the school, hence it is neat and clean. Do visit
Ragi Kana is like a getaway spot for us. Something away from the commercial rush. A place where you feel the authenticity in what they sell. Small vendors from different places get together at this spot to sell various items. Fresh vegetables, fruits, wooden toys (Indian made), books, hand made crafts, masalas, home made Maddur vadas, sweets, a meal with Ragi balls for those who want their lunch.
A must place to visit, you will enjoy the place and the peace that you get down there.
Do let me know if you could feel the same. Cheers!
We visit Ragi Kana regularly. Very good organic produce available across various vendors. Jaggery, Honey, Fruits, Handicrafts etc. Plus, some nice local food to eat and enjoy the overall environment.
Very disoppointed to say even in ragi kana people r fooling us. They r selling brown egg in the name of desi eggs actually they r China eggs, these eggs does not have smell and yolk & white mixes very quickly.pls beware of everything nowadays.they r charged 15 rs per egg saying it desi egg.
A good Sunday morning outing especially if you a little one at home to entertain. Its a farm with few animals and tress for the little ones to enjoy. You get a lot of organic things to buy including vegetables, spices and others.and there are a local craftsmen selling their own work ranging from ornamental, e vases, hangings to functional items like carpets, clothes, earthen and metal vessels. And more importantly there are some interesting snacks most of us in 30's and above can become nostalgic about and the little ones can explore. They have some live counters for lunch and quick bites. Sometimes they have experts come around for talk.overall a calm place which will bring back some old memories. If this doesn't make you feel as an escape from urban Bangalore then the huge, unmarked and unorganized space for parking will.).
Ont only Ragi Kana is amazing but also it's our responsibility that such projects flower and flourish. One has to contribute in making the world a better place for our future generations. As Dr Vijaya Venkat said, ' Self Care is Health Care is Earth Care'. If one's health care and self care is NOT Earth Care', it's unscrupulous consumption. Organic products and handmade things are basic components of Sacred Economy. Many software engineers and professionals from corporate sector have taken up organic farming; they also come with their produce, many visit Ragi Kana with their children who learn many things there like Eco Ganesha, making seed balls, natural colors and many such things. Exposing children to such things in an enjoyable way is the key for imbibing the right values. It's joyous to watch the children and adults engaged in eco-friendly endeavors.
It's a small but good market place where we get to buy fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits from nearby farms, millets, jaggery, cold pressed oil, cotton handloom clothes and daily wear, homemade food delicacies, cast iron kitchen items, etc.
The best place in South Bangalore for organic food products, natural dyed clothes and hand made products. The discussions and workshops are also very good.
Ragi Kana is a must visit place for Nature Lovers. You get fresh farm produce without chemicals and wide variety of eco friendly products from wooden brushes to handmade soaps.
A wonderful place for buying organic fresh vegetables, groceries, handcrafted beauties and slow fashion clothes. They have regular holistic wholesome workshops for kids and adults. They also conduct thought provoking talks/ screening of documentaries on relevant current issues. Pro-tip- if you want the veggies you need to be there early.
It's a farmers' market where a producer can sell his/her produce directly to the general public. It's a venue where anyone who is on their journey towards a zero waste lifestyle can be with to learn what n how to do the shifts in habits with the natural stuffs available around. It makes it easy to unlearn all those what we have been following so far as many like minded people gather over there. Right from pulses, oil, vegetables, clothes, arts n crafts, natural home and personal care products everything is natural and showcased for us to choose from. Have a millet cafe at one end where we get to taste all that can be done with millets and know it tastes good like our other regular food but far better and healthier ones to inculcate in our day to day life. For a healthier tomorrow! It's fun time for kids as many interactive workshops go on with traditional games where they again learn to play with wooden toys which tells us stories and history related to it. It's a chance for adults too bring in their inner child to play! The timings ate 10 to 4 pm on every Sunday
Amazing place. The market every Sunday is something to look forward to. Some really wonderful stalls. I love the food and end up buying stuff from Desi often!
It's a school. Every Sunday they organise this. Nice place to hang out for fresh air and to see Village view. You may get few organic products, fruits, vegetables and clothing. It's 1-2 KMs from main road which makes it be a quite place. I'm not quite sure about the lunch. Had lunch there the were only 3 foods. I'm not sure it'll be available so long so have a backup for food.
A nice secluded location amidst lot of greenery. Weekend Sante where you will get small time vendors - mostly home made food products and other daily use stuff. Some events and educational sessions would be arranged too. Good place to go for your weekly vegetables and select grocery shopping. Organic vegetables and food items available.
