The first thing you will notice once you enter Ranga taana is their parking space. They have a pretty big space. They have kept the wooden houses neat and keeps you pretty warm. Service is excellent.

Place was no doubt good, it was in the middle of woods. If you're interested in nature and like to spend time in peace so that is your place. There's trek as well, private waterfall. But but while trekking even in Ranga Tana whole lot of leaches.

Brilliant place to be with your family or loved ones. Mother Nature will prove its beauty to you. Pavan, Vittal and boys provided excellent service. Food quality needs to be improved to match the place and weather. Rooms and restrooms are maintained well. Don’t give a second thought to visit this place. Mr. Chetan has found the right place to admire beauty and do well with his business venture. Thanks Ranga Taana and Team:) Will visit again

Wonder full property. Worst service.repeated foods.lots of things to get improve, rooms are not so good, not well maintained. Poor staff management, trekking no jackets or rain coats are provided by resorts.not worth enough to pay such amount p/d.

I have spent one night in Ranga Taana 17-18 June with my three office colleagues.
Key attractions are location, water falls, morning trekking. Any nature lover will enjoy it. Excellent place to spend with family and colleagues. It spreads across many acres, you can roam around.
Service is good. I asked for warm water at 11pm, they gave it.
Food items and quality must be improved. For vegetarian less numbers of menus. Lunch will provide at 2: 30 pm. Many people are commenting on this but I don’t see any improvement. Not sure the owner is really concerned about it.

Best place to visit. Great stay and private waterfalls. Lunch for grt, dinner was okay, breakfast was bad.
Grt place to stay with family.

A good place away from the city crowd.
Though we went in hot summer, the view, above space, private Trek, water fall all worth visiting

Located in lush cofee estate and mountains. The rooms are very neat and service was very good. The early morning trekking to mountain peak and falls was mesmerising

Log cabins are rudimentary but sufficient. Food was basic but tasty. Highlight is a water falls just about 1km walk from the resort, Overall a good place to pick if you are looking for a clean, reliable, close to nature "base camp" at Chikmangalur. People looking for a luxury resort experience may be dissapointed.

Top of a hill, the home stay is awesome with scenery filled atmosphere. Fresh air and always drizzling because of the nearby waterfall. Food and room service is also wonderful

Amazing place, they have a beautiful private waterfall, love the service. Hot water available, rooms are comfy. One problem is, no phone signal and no Wi-Fi

On the way to the resort, saw a message stating there is no towels and bathroom kits and we were asked to bring it. This message I just saw before reaching the resort. Paying a premium and for what so ever reason, not giving basic stuff is not at all acceptable. Again on reaching the resort, there were confusion on which path to take and have called the manager and he never picked the call. Fortunately found the way and reached the resort. The kitchen staff was very helpful in picking the luggage. Lunch was again not ready and we have to wait till 2: 45 P. M for the Lunch and the staff who tool us for the treaking was a cool guy. I remember his name is Sharan. He took good care of my kid and took several photos as well. A big applause for him. He also ensured we were served the evening snacks. Dinner and Lunch was just average. When settling the bill during check out the Manager was very slow. For the price paid, was expecting more.

Beautiful stay surrounded by nature & friendly host! Very Calm place. You have small trek place & a waterfall nearby. Unlimited food. I loved their checkin & checkout timings.

This homestay is really special. The rooms are well maintained. Ours which had 2 bathrooms, with clean hot water. The service is outstanding with the staff heeding our every request. The home-cooked food is delicious, but vegetarian options could be a little better. There is a private trek and waterfall in the homestay itself which is a great experience with amazing views. Just beware of leeches.

Ranga taana, best hotel near chikmangaluru. Good and best tasty food, safety place, roads near to hotel is bad, leaches are every where outside the hotel but not in hotel. Lot of car parking place. Ppl who wants peace of mind, reading book alone, fresh air this is the best place. But there is no activities in hotel like others.

Home stay staffs were good and polite.but the room condition was not good, 3 cots got sinked inside the floor due to bad flooring n bad maintenance! Thank god we didn’t get hurt.

Decent place for small vacation of 1 or 2 days.
Road leading to this place is beautiful!
It just takes some 5hrs to reach this place from bangalore.
The wooden guesthouses are decent. They do keep the rooms clean.
The bathrooms western and ok and for washroom they was no flush gun, we informed the staff and they were kind enough to come and replace it.
They have a big boiler for hot water and hence the supply for hot water is limited to mornings and not throughout the day.
They have some trekking for hill top and private waters although the path is filled with LEACHES! So be careful.
They provide campfire.
Breakfasts do not include non veg and you could request for omelets.
Lunch and dinner food is good! They serve 2 types of chicken items.
Evening you could ever ask for non veg dish of ur choice for ur drinks. (which is charged later!).
When I went here it was windy a lot.
The estate is filled with jackfruit trees, they were kind enough to give us.
Overall had a decent pleasant experience.

I wanted to rate it 3. But an extra star is for the humble staffs. We stayed 2 days with family of 12. We enjoyed the stay between the nature. Morning trek was the best. Separate Camp fire was good. But didn't like the food much (specially morning breakfast). Hot water was not available 24/7.
Would recommend for quite big group.

I would recommend this place to everyone. We were group of 8 and stayed on 4th and 5th of December. The main attraction is private falls situated within the property.

Ranga Taana: Amazing place to relax for the weekend. 270kms from Bangalore this place is in tarikere. Very near to Kemmangundi z point and Kalatgiri falls. Ranga taana has total of 6 cottages with one balcony and a group can have a relaxed stay. The cottages are surrounded by coffee plants and pine trees. Amazing nature.
From the main road almsot 2 Kms is off roading track to reach Ranga Taana. Enjoyed to the core.
Now the Food. Ups let me speak about the Staff. Very very polite. Prasanna the head cook an amazing person. And Rajesh and other 2 persons (sorry forgot the name) are like gem of persons. They were there when we wanted anything. And very quick service.
And guys now comming to Food. Cant compare with anything. The taste of the food was very good. In the lunch we hd akki rotti and channa palya.fried rice and white rice. Good taste. Loved the akki rotti. Night also the buffet had limted options. But the options was more than enough. And amazing was the morning breakfat. The soft idli prepared in jack fruit leaves.wow.it was a 'Kadbu' with tamoto chutney and coconut chutney and saagu. And not forget to mention Savige bath which very appropri6 for taste buds to get activated. WOW.

Also the main attraction is very private falls which is amazing. Very very clean. Since no public is alloved and only the in house guests are allowed to go with a guide. Remember the most exiting part to the falls is the steep climbing and Leeches.

WOW is what i can say.

Experience it to know better.

The perfect place for family stays.

One of the best accommodation at the foothills of Kemmengundi. Recently, I had a weeks long stay at this beautiful place, the caretakers were so helpful and attentive. The food was quite okay though, but mostly depends on individuals. Loved the morning trekks to the hill top everyday, and the nature walks in the vicinity was so blissful. I see myself checking in again with friends and family very soon.

Heavenly beautiful place to visit around Kemmanagundi. Best natural beauty about the property make it outstanding location to spend time. Food and service is as good as it is beautiful.

Amazing loaction and stay. Don't miss to explore the private waterfall in the property? Staff will only take to the private waterfall make sure u carry an extra clothes and towel. I suggest u to take a dip in the waterfall. Food was amazing and bit oily. If u suggest them to put less oil they ll do according to ur taste.

Families please refrain from visiting this place, I went with my family and had a horrid experience, when we checked in after a long journey we were served cold food and made to wait after we started having lunch.

The most shocking part was the place was filled with bachelors boozing in common area playing loud music and howling abuses never go with famy not a safe place to visit

Ranga Taana's stay will always remain as a beautiful memory in my entire life.

Every penny spent is so worth it. The view, the waterfalls, the comfy wooden cottage, the cute dog "Richie", the caretakers, the road to reach the main place, the coffee plantation around, the bon-fire, the different types of insects, star watching, everything was so perfect.

I literally loved it. I do not find any disadvantages at all except that I have to pack my bags and check out to go back to reality.

This place was a reality escape to me and to live in the woods made it more special.

Points to keep in mind
1. Food is served as buffet, the taste was good. (I saw a lot of negative feedback for this, but probably depends upon the taste buds)
2. Leaches all around while you trek or when you take a walk in the estate (remember you are paying to stay in natures lap, hence leaches are also a part of it.
3. Getting mobile signals is a big question mark (kudos to you if you are a Jio/BSNL user, coz that kind of works there). But I even loved the fact that I did not get signal here, Mobile detox *tada*
So if you want some songs, ensure u have it downloaded prior because streaming it online might not happen.
4. Please don't litter the place, it's so beautiful.

I am gonna ensure to visit this place again.

Personally I have suggested this place to a lot of friends/relatives already.

A cool place to be when you want to relax and do nothing, but still can do a lot of hiking when in mood for it.

The property is good. Stay was not good. I dint like the food. I had very high expectations of this place when I read the reviews. The washroom faucet was leaking, the wash basin pipe was leaking. After we complained, it was set right. Service was good.

A very nice place to visit, you will fall in love with the scenic views and the natures beauty. The stay and the private waterfalls are the best attractions to this wonderful place. A must visit place.

Beautiful honestly located near kemmangundi hills. Best part is the Wooden cottages in between coffee estate with a backdrop of beautiful hills.
1 day stay is more than enough. There are just 2 activities - A short trek to private waterfalls and an early morning trek to view point (which we missed because of rains).
Cleanliness should he improved in the rooms
Food was average. This needs to be improved a lot.
Service was good.
There are no activities other than trek. Including some sport activities like zipline, mud volleyball, will make the place still more better.

We had visited in the month of July, the staff is exceptional in regards to service. Very humble and prompt staff. The food provided was delicious and very homely. Good activities to keep you occupied and to reiterate, the service provided by the staff members is just outstanding. No complaints at all. Would suggest everyone to visit once.

It's a very decent place and the tarriff is very reasonable. The cottages are neat and clean. Food is decent. Nature at it's best. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Very calm. Cottages are nice. We spent time with nature. The dog siglika is so protective to the guest loved it.

Pros:
We really enjoyed our stay here. The homestay suits equally well for families as well as friends. The major tourist attractions are very close. Kallhattigiri Falls is around 20 mins from the homestay. The homestay was well maintained and it's conveniently a bit far from the road. This means you need to enter their estate and travel for around 800 meters in an off-road to reach RangaTaana. Hence throughout your stay, you will feel you're in a calm and secluded place. We asked them for a short trek from the homestay and they arranged one. The trek started from the homestay itself and we reached the peak of the hill that was just behind our cottage. We started by morning 6: 30 AM and reached the peak by 7: 20 AM. It was a moderate trek and hence we weren't too tired. The trek would be very difficult for elder people. If you're interested, you can opt for it. The main highlight of the homestay is the 100 feet waterfalls that is very secluded, calm, clean, and very very safe. No one from outside can reach this falls as the only way to it is through their estate. I suggest you can plan to skip playing in the falls at Kalhattigiri as it'll always be crowded. The falls will be good for playing during winter and monsoon. In summer, the water will be very less and hence we won't get much fun.
The campfire experience was also perfect.

Cons:
The food could've been a bit better. I'm not saying it was bad. Just that it could've been a bit more authentic. It was normal and nothing special. If they could arrange for some authentic local cuisine it'd be perfect.
Also, the off-road journey from the estate's gate to the homestay might get a bit problematic. Especially if some other vehicle is coming from the opposite side. Just before entering the gate, make sure you call them and verify that no vehicle has started from that end to exit from the gate. If unknowingly two vehicles meet head-on on that road, it'd be very difficult as the road is very bumpy and narrow.

Simple place without fancies n frills. Wooden log huts.they cooked fixed buffet meals.u need to get ur own soft / hard drinks. As the property is off the road there are no commercial stores inside. The trek to the top is moderate n takes about 45 mins to 1 hour to hit the top. You can see Kemmengundi n Z point from here n traces of wild life like sambhar/deer at the top. They also have a waterfall about 1/4 the trek route n a cave that has water source. Staff is courteous.shout out to Rajesh for his great attitude n help in our stay. They also set up private bon fires in the evening

Very good place to hang out with team and nice hospitality but food tast was not satisfied but it was ok. They have nice maintained private falls, tracking place, beautiful natural, fire campus was really good, finally good experience.

A group of 7 members stayed at Ranga Taana for 2 days (Feb 7&8). The stay was ably arranged by the Manager Mr Dharma right from pick up & drop at Birur Railway Station to arranging all the activities. The 6 bedded cottage we were allotted could easily accommodate 10 pax. The driver anna Subash, non veg specialist cook Showbeen, attenders cum guides Rajesh and Chinna anna were very cordial and made efforts at their best to make our stay a memorable one. Chinna anna guided us to the private waterfall which as mentioned in all the previous reviews is THE BEST and to grassland trekking which is divine in itself. Coffee, veg / non veg food, evening camp fire with snacks, add on chicken starters, nimbu paani was arranged to our satisfaction. Returned with lots of happy memories.

Serene Place, Very Close to nature. Tasty food and mind blowing hospitality. Have already visited this place twice, would probably visit again in future.

Trust me this resort does not look like what you see in the picture. It is very untidy & the management is not good. The cot was broken the held the cot with a brick support & the toilet was very dirty, the commode was broken the lock for the door was broken. When we booked it online they said there r 2 rooms available but once when we reached there they were asking us to adjust in 1 room itself. The pool was very untidy there were worms in that, actually the pool is not all a real pool it like a big tumbler filled with water.
Really don't visit this resort ull definitely get disappointed.

This is one the best places to get yourself isolated from the traffic, honking sounds and ensure you enjoy nature. The stay is made even more comfortable by the staffs over there. The staffs from the manager Dharma till the last person in the kitchen help you in whatever way they can in a polite manner. Thanks to Rajesh for ensuring we were comfortable during the Camp Fire. The short trek to the private falls is really awesome. Thanks to Chinna for carefully guiding my daughters (6 and 4 yrs) to the falls and back safely. The taste of the food is really great. Although the choices were limited (particularly for veg), i was happy to get the typical south Indian taste in most of the food.

It was very experience in our stay mainly the customer service by the staff Dharma, Chinna and Rajesh they have taken care of us very nicely. Chinna mainly has given good service to us in my stay

Group of 18ppl went with kids. We had very good experience. Place is very calm and clean. We were greeted and treated very well. This place has private scenic waterfall. Vegetarian was not upto the mark but non vegetarian food was yummy. The staff were polite.

Very Good Location. Trek to waterfall and peak where we can watch Kemmangundi z point is good. But the bed rooms, bathrooms and food is not at all good for family people. It's good for only group of men going to drink and have fun. Bed and rooms are not clean. There is lots of scope for improvement. Manager Dharma, Chinu and Ganesh took care while going for trek to top of the hill and to the waterfall. If rooms, bathrooms food can be improved. If facility improves then I would go again.

Rangataana resort in chikkamagalur is a very pleasant place to stay with a relaxing weather, an awesome natural water falls, and a good trecking.
The water falls in Rangataana is an amazing and eye catching place. Very spacious to play in water and also a safer one. Rainbows are common to view in that falls. In one word falls in that thick forest is a speechless beauty in the middle of the forest. The heart stealing beauty of Rangataana.
The staff in the Rangataana is really appreciable. The resort Owner CHETHAN is a good gentlemen, have a good co-ordination with the customers. Manager DHARMA a humble person who takes care of the each and every customer needs. Helper CHINNU guides well in trecking and has a good co ordination wirh customer, who takes care of customers very well. Cooks SHOBIN and GEETHA are good in cooking, they try their best in giving the tastes for the customer. Cook shobin though a Nepalian cooks well Indian food like our own homestyle food. Though from Nepal he speaks regional language ie Kannada very well.
Overall Rangataana is a place to visit and the people in the resort are very humble, and friendly

It is a beautiful resort. Stay here was pleasant. We stayed here for a day. Food was ok, not very tasty. Service was bit slow, we were served lunch at 2: 15! We died of hunger. They have wooden house for stay, it was good. View is also good. They have there private waterfalls which was amazing, it was a HUGE ONE. Walking to this falls was bit difficult, but we enjoyed falls. Chill water. Overall good experience, if you r looking for some thrill in this waterfall then it's must visit place. There r wild animals around but they ensured our safety and a guy escorted us to the falls.
