Must visit place, you can absorb fresh air from forest, this place is sorrounded by hills u can trek for 3 km to the view point and u can see western ghats, near by u can see water fall, food which we got was delicious home made.totally we enjoyed night stay.

Very nice place to spend a memorable vacation. Place is inside the forest and felt very close to mother nature. Good trucking and enjoyed lot in water fall.
Manu guided us with trucking and to a water fall. Very rare place where you find tea estate and coffe estate together.
Overall hospitality was very good and had proper croog food and it was one of best food i ever had. Feels like visiting one more time.

Worst stay I ever had. The room was smelling dusty. No proper cleanliness. They have mentioned tv and wifi connection. When I asked for tv they told that they have disconnected the cable connection and is not available. Wifi range is so poor that it does not reach inside the room and speed is worst. Dinner was not that tasty. Breakfast was good. Home stay location is good. Proper maintenance is required.

The most excellent hidden gem in coorg.the place is private surrounded by lush green forest, food served is homely and tasty and the host offers you access to private falls and trek. Overall wonderful offbeat experience!

Forest cabin is in an enchanting location, surrounded by forested mountains, numerous streams and natural springs. The natural ecology of Coorg mountain forests comes alive. The waterfall trek and the viewpoint trek is mesmerizing. The cottage is basic and clean and spacious. No leeches at the trek as it was good sunshine, I guess peak monsoons we need to take precaution.
We were totally cut off, we could have used the wifi at the caretakers place below but we didn't, it was an awesome break and a total digital detox.
The food is yummy, both the vegetarians and non vegetarians in our group loved the food.

This property is listed by a broker he will ask you for a advance. On arival at that place we found that property to be very bad. He refused to give us money back

We had decided to take a short break in Coorg and after searching through all the regular hotels, resorts, plantations, came across Red house home stay, which also goes by the name of Hidden Valley Coorg - Forest cabin. I couldn't find many reviews about the place.other than some old one's. On seeing that it's located far from the main touristy places, which is exactly what we were looking for, so we decided to give it a try.
The booking process was very smooth, Mr Prabhakar, was easily accessible for any queries.
Now coming to the location of the homestay.it's about 11 kms from club Mahindra, madikeri. There are 2 large Rooms on higher ground just behind the owner's (Mr Manu Kumar) home. Large enough to accommodate a dozen people. Toilets are clean and hot water available round the clock.

It's a magical place.we were welcomed by clouds and cool weather. As soon as we checked in went for a short trek with Bharat (Who took good care of us) to the nearby hilltop and really enjoyed the magical views. There are three friendly dogs too who accompanied us where whereever we went, almost felt like they were our guides as they ran before is showing us the right paths. The next day we did the customary tourist visit to madikeri town, came back to the property had lunch and then headed out to a nearby waterfall, which on any given day is much better than abbi falls, coz you get to trek to the waterfall and also play in the cool refreshing water. Adults and kids all enjoyed this trip.

I have to thank Mr and Mrs Kumar for the awesome, tasty homemade food that they prepared.there's nothing to complain about.
For people who are looking out for solitude.this is the place to be.no mobile network, just you and nature, bird watchers will have a really good time, with so many different species flying around all day.
Being deep in natural surroundings, be ready to be bitten by a few leeches. A request to Prabhakar and Mr Manu, since most city folks would be visiting and I'm sure all guests would come with inappropriate footwear. If gum boots could be provided to the guests for a nominal fee, I'm sure that would just make the entire trip all the more enjoyable.

Very beautiful place in mid of nature and calmness, place is surrounded by coffee estate and the forest.
Accommodation is pretty decent and it is meant for large groups and it is neat.
Food is really tasty and homely.
Host is very nice and made us feel very comfortable and took care of our needs with patience and available all the time

Had great time to spend with friend in the resort. Rooms were much spacious with enough bathroom facilities. Home services were too good. Foods were tasty as home made foods. Definitely should give a try.

Well tbh this home stay served a pretty decent food. All fine with the hospitality. But, they had not so good rooms, washrooms and ambience. Could do better in these areas. Overall the place is just above average.

Beautiful cottage surrounded by pristine nature.
This place is a treat for nature lovers. The private waterfall is huge and we had a great time playing in it. Don't miss the trek to the Viewpoint and waterfall.
The homemade food is yummy and the caretaker Rajesh is very helpful.

Stay was amazing. We were a group of 6 friends. The location is secluded, in the midst of trees and hills and close to some good trekking areas. Best part is there was no connectivity in the particular location and we could enjoy the nature to the fullest.
The highlight of the stay was the super amazing service and FOOD. Food was fresh, home made with love and local and organic. Taste of everything served was just amazing right from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Idli, unfermented dosa, sambhar, chutneys, rice, dal fry, bhindi, varieties of veg side dishes, chicken, egg etc.wild pork is a daily specialty and cooked to perfection- people who eat pork will definitely love it. They have 1 day evening as bonfire and barbecue.
The cottage is quite spacious and has 4 king beds and 4 bunkers, attached toilet and one outside. Since its located within the jungle, there were a lot of bugs which is attracted by lights, however you cant help it, rooms can be cleaner and is cleaned on request, however you cant expect more than this as the price is a steal.
Overall, stay was amazing and food was too good. Owner Prabhakar and home stay in charge Manu were extremely responsive and helpful.

I have given 3 stars for
* The view from the cottage.
*Waterfalls - even though water was less when I visited. Walking to the waterfalls was good experience.
* Early morning trek to nearby peak was extremely satisfying.

The missing 2 stars are because of:
* Hospitality - I have read many people giving good review about their hospitality, but we were treated badly. There is no covered parking place. No person was assigned to us, to take care of us. For everything we had to go down and ask them multiple times. They were less responsive. We even felt like they wanted us to check out as soon as possible, don't know why.

*Next important factor was food. Again I have read many people praising authenticity of their good. But what we experienced was terrible. Lunch was rice sambar papad and palya. No curry no starter or no chapathi (all these were mentioned in the list they sent to us) when we asked them they told that they have reduced price so they have stopped giving chapathis. Dinner was okay. But for breakfast they had prepared paddu. It was prepared from yesterday's leftover rice. Nothing else with paddu. We felt cheated at that. I felt very uncomfortable.

Finally.
I recommend everyone to visit this place. But don't expect too much from the hosts. Just enjoy on your own. You might be disappointed with the food.

Had a great time at Redhouse homestay. Food was decent. You have trees all around, the pictures still do not do justice.

It is a bit isolated and you will literally be cut off from the rest of the world (no WiFi or mobile data, except for Airtel). You can use their landline for emergency calls.

The roads were being done up when I had visited so they should be in good shape in a week's time.

Hospitality was good. The morning hike to the view point (you get coverage here) and to the waterfall were added perks.

Hot water available in the morning. Carry your own toiletries and any particular food or drinks that you need. They will provide 3 meals.
Note that this place is way outside the city and the closest shop would be quite far away, so come prepared and you will enjoy your stay.

Would’ve given negative ratings if I could. The resort was overpriced. There are lot of good resort nearby. Don't go for this. There is no proper road to the resort. The roads are too worst. Rooms are not clean and bedspreads has stains. At the last moment they will cancel the early morning check in, even if you had mentioned it earlier, we have to wait for more than 4 hours. The hospitality was not good. After seeing the room we left the resort within half an hour and booked another resort. Unresponsive manager. They will charge cancellation fee, even if you are not willing to stay there.
