Regional Institute of Education Mysore

The ambience is good so is the climate. They have AC in AV Hall, Few functioning clubs, one of the best roads that have markings and streetlights, a good ground, open gym etc. There is a mango orchard within the campus. These are some of the positive things i noted.

I studied here in 1972-1974 special PUC Commerce experimental course.
Stayed in Ganga hostel and still cherish the stay there. In those days it was called Regional College of Education, Mysore shortly RCEM.

To even think about this institution gives me an unnecessary anxiety, let alone write about it. Yet I think it is very important to state it here that this place is one that has a very depressive environment. Sexism is one of such things. One of my friends had one such experience from the authorities of the Institute.

In an institution, where there is no dress code, she was crucified for wearing a sleeveless dress. And when she raised her voice against it, she was threatened that her course will be de-registered. She was further suspended from the college. Though she somehow completed her course there, the mental stress she had gone through was terrible. Sexism is one of the problems in the Institute. There is no voice for the students there. Neither are the students considered with respect.

The professors being borderline illogical is yet another such problems. While some professor scolds and chases away students accusing them of doing black magic, some looks down upon girl students who are friendly with boys. The disparity in the curfew time for girls hostel and boys hostel is another manifestation of the same sexism.

The ego of the professors of the institution js the most fragile thing in the world. Students can never question a professor. If a student questions it, the repercussions would be seen in the student's exam results.
I fear such an environment is too dangerous for teacher training in specific, and in general too repressive and oppressive for an education institution.

It's a beautiful campus and you have a very good faculty and facilities for pursuing B. Sc. Ed, B. A. Ed, M. Sc. Ed, B. Ed or M. Ed courses in the campus. They have good hostel facility with WiFi too. The mess is decent for students. The campus is also well known for the Demonstration Multipurpose School (DMS) in Mysore.

The sports facilities are awesome and every one can participate and play any sort of games they would like to. The campus also has a placement facilities where various schools offer jobs for students in their final year with a good payment.

It is really an honour to be a student of the institute and as I said, every student of the institute loves the campus and has loads of memories in and around it. It's really a pleasure to remember them all.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education. Vast & Big Greenery Campus, well maintained, school, sbi bank & many more buildings were there. Window glass pane need to change.

The Regional Institute of Education Mysore (Formerly Regional College of Education) founded on 1st August, 1963, is one of five such institutions established by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. The other Institutes are located at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Shillong. The Regional Institutes were started with main the objective of qualitative improvement of school education through innovative pre-service and in-service teacher training programmes and relevant research, development and extension activities.

It was a good place. Garden was good. Playground is worst. Campus is a WiFi campus. Students are good.

Regional institute of education is south India's best teaching institute with varied courses under NCERT like BA. BEd, MSc. Ed, BSc. Ed, BEd, MEd.

Wonderful campus.beautiful garden n campus filled with nice edualcated people.in one sentence if i have to say.this is the best educational institute seen so far till date.very beautiful atmosphere.
