Located in the heart of the city it is at a walkable distance from ksrtc bus stand. The rooms are spacious and the service offered is overall good. The food is costly compared to other hotels.
Worst service. There is one lady front desk manager (not sure exactly what’s her position) she is not even behaving good to the staff members and then how can she behave good to the customers. She is not fit for hospitality industry. Recruit some good staff member instead of her. She was shouting to staff members in front of customers.
The awesome place, especially the interaction with Nagababu chef is very good and the food prepared by his department is delicious and we enjoyed the dinner.
Made me wait outside the hotel for 15 mins as there was a car blocking the park way after long wait the security came and casually told me only to park as I was tired I told him to call the valet suddenly he vanished for another 10 mins and when he came back I told I'll leave and go to other hotel he casually told u can go! Very good service! Fantastic
Not so great. Even rooms are good it's very big. They'll tell max 2 people can be accommodated in a room. The price is very high.
This is near to KSRTC bus stop shivamogga. Not outskirts too, but also the price is high.
They're steeling money, because the room is very big but the person who is incharge tell only 2 per room. Overpriced room. Parking space is very small.
Decent place in the heart of the city. In-house restaurant tiger trail offers great breakfast and dining options. Need fan in the room as AC doesn't cool at night.
Stopped over for breakfast en route to Jog Falls. I could see from my previous visit that some renovations are going on at the lobby level. From my previous stays here, I can say that the rooms are quite spacious and clean. There is plenty of parking space behind and at one side of the hotel. The food is tasty and the pricing (Rs 450/- per head) for buffet breakfast is slightly high but worth it, given the spread. The location is excellent, bang on one of the arterial roads and close to the road to Sagar-Jog Falls-Honnavar highway. Undoubtedly, one of the better places to stay in Shivamogga. Try it!
It is In city centre near mall so good food option available arnd the hotel.not great surrounding and view as it is on main road of market area.rooms and bath were clean and good, lobby and floor under renovation so not so convenient in aug 2023. Expensive for 3k per room per night in a small town like shimoga
Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staffs are very friendly and always happy to help. Ample parking space available. This place is in centre of Shimoga and very convenient for business trips. Buffet Breakfast was a very good spread. Hot water available all the time. The bed spring needs to be changed. It was very uncomfortable to rest on the back.
Totally loved it. Property had been organised v nicely. Very neat n clean rooms. Ambience is superb. Staff was polite. Food was very good. Thank you Royal Orchid.
Great place to stay, room was clean and well maintained. Periodic cleaning was done. Food was very nice and both breakfast and dinner buffet spread was good and everything taste good. Staff was courteous and ready to help. Keep up the good service
Had an overall good stay with extended family for two nights. Spacious and clean rooms. Courteous staff. Loved the food here. Reduced one star as there were few issues. Rooms had kind of a damp smell.could be due to lack of sunlight. Also parking is a challenge. Although they have good amount of parking space, at times it gets full. They had covered my brother's car with a car cover overnight to prevent bird droppings, but ended up creating lot of scratches while removing the cover in the morning. Hope they will take care of these in the future.
Food and chef is too good. I am staying regularly since September 2020 till now in this hotel Chef Mr. Nagesh is so friendly and cooperative. He serves best food as per my requests. He regularly follows food quality and suggestions. Keep going heights Mr. Nagesh.
Visited Royal Orchid to attend a wedding at a nearby hall. Royal Orchid is one of the few well maintained hotels in Shimoga. Though the building is old, it is maintained well. Rooms are spacious and well lit. However, bathrooms are not very clean and the fittings are dated. Staff is courteous and friendly. Food severed at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. We ordered some soup, rotis and sabji. Quality and quantity were up to the mark. Breakfast buffet spread has limited options and the taste was mediocre. It's a pity that most resorts and hotels in Karnataka serve white doses and instant cofee in the name of filter coffee. Parking can be a problem when there are functions in the hotel's banquet halls. CAB is largely practiced at the premises, though the city in itself is ignorant of the recent predicament. 4 stars for a decent stay at reasonable pricing.
I stayed for just one night while transiting through Shimoga. Hotel is situated on a busy road. Rooms are spacious but interiors are dated and do not seem suitable for a 4 star property in todays day and age. Breakfast buffet was good and staff was very courteous and professional. Would have rated it 5 stars if the rooms were renovated and modern.
Place is average, food is sad. Ordered soup and sandwiches, which was sad and overpriced. Breakfast had limited options. But one of the best option in the town.
This was our second time stay in Orchid. Good Hospitality, rooms are clean and sanitized. Breakfast buffet is very good. Dinner had live music. Good ambience. Nice to stay.
The Property location is good and the rooms are big with very good COVID precautions at all levels, but if you have a dust/mite or any form of air allergy then you need to take precautions as my allergy flared up, and could not sleep for even a second. They need to install room air purifiers as the windows are locked and they don't have any fresh air inlets near the rooms/corridor. It's a bit expensive as well for the facilities which they offer. The Room service is a bit slow and few of the fittings like TV level, drawers need attention. The toilet seat was moving and had to be manually adjusted before sitting. They need to work more to really get a feel of a 4-star hotel.
As I have a Royal Gold card member ship, it's our all time best place for family dinning. Food is very delicious they always maintain 5star royal treatment in every aspect. Car parking: we get vallet parking. Happy customer from past 6years, since I relocated to Shimoga from Bangalore.
Its a thali 9f royal orchid. Cost will be somewhere around 330 per thali. U can only eat the thali if u have not eaten anything in that particular day. Good place and good food
Good hotel, rooms were neat and the bathrooms were well maintained, but the problem with this hotel was that there was too less light in the room. The complementary breakfast was very good and delicious. If the room lighting is improved then this hotel will get 5 stars from everyone. Location of the hotel is good and is easy to find. Had a nice stay here.
Food was great but service was slow and not very good.
Also, they should work on portion size for dishes. Food was tasty but same dish ordered twice had different portion sizes. Staff could be more courteous.
Located in close proximity of the local as well as the outstation bus stand vehicle parking 24 hour service good amenities good food and service good rooms are the highlights of this hotel Though located nearer to the busy garden area royal orchid is not affected by the hurry burry garden area True to its name it is located in a central area with close access to the bus station Royal is not economical and expensive true to its name
What was good? Easily accessible from bus stand. Good parking facility (valet) Courteous staff. Exemplary. Sumptuous breakfast! Rooms are spacious.
What could have been better? Electronic stuffs in room Refrigerator and Drier didn't work TV setup box has very limited subscription of Asianet digital. Other hotels with much less tariff better subscriptions. I can see cost cutting.
Food as Pinxx tastes good. But prices are insanely high.
Is it worth the price? No. You can find better hotels for this price.
Best place to stay in Shimoga with comfy rooms. Good Location, City center mall and bus stand is near to the hotel. Friendly staff and Food is tasty. Best hotel in Shimoga to stay.
Excellent location and decent ambience courteous staff, I had problem with AC, was too cold even after raising the temp to 35, it was not getting warm even after the staff made couple of attempts, it was marginally improved but pretty much Ac controls were useless, at least in my room, also we had taken to single beds and they had casters on one side without locking mechanism and having the bed directly on the ceramic tile was causing it to slide forward when we were trying rest our back on the headboard, staff said it was the dirt time they have seen this problem.anyways they tried but did not a solution at that time. I would have given 5 star if did not had these issues, they even gave toothpaste and shaving when I mentioned I forgot to bring them along.everything else is excellent
Tried all three restaurants in R.orchid, Shivamogga. Lovely place, surely gives your own personal space. Food is average. Service is good. Beat thing is you can order from any of the three restaurants inside irregardless of where you sit. Music is mood setting. Tad overpriced
Advantages- Best hotel in Shimoga.good for families and travellers.the staff are friendly and helpful.located in the middle of the city. Disadvantages - can hear noise from nearby rooms.
We went for the tiger trail restaurant. The staff was very courtious and nice. Food was also decent, except the roomali roti, they don't know really how to prepare it:)
One point worth mentioning, the vive of the hotel is a bit dull. It feels old, you can smell damp and stale air inside it. So does not feel very healthy once you walk in.
Great service.awesome food. Staff ensured our stay and comfort is taken care. This is my first stay with royal orchid chain and would definitely recommend all if your in Shimoga. At city centre and near to all tourist places specially elephant camp and tiger safari which are the main attraction here. Big thumbs up to royal orchid staff!
One of the better hotels in Shimoga. Can improve customer experience by adding value.breakfast buffet can be improved and front office staff require training
Good place to stay in Shimoga. My stay for a one night was very comfortable. Pleasant place and very cooperative and helpful staff. Food available is also good
Had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The rooms as expected were large and clean. Food is excellent, variety of cuisines were available. 1up for the service staff, they were polite and helpful.
Shimoga royal orchid is not at per the brand. The hotel need a serious renovation. Food is tasteless. Although staffs are good in behaviour but unorganised. We reported at 3: 30pm but still have to wait half hr as the rooms are not ready to check in. Same situation found on the next day aswell.
One of the best in shimoga. The rooms are neat n tidy. They have all the shops nearby. The hotel staff are courteous. Thou there are restaurant available food is not up to mark. The hotels outside suffice that purpose. Good drivers are there for disposal. Overall very good.
I stayed here earlier this year in Feb and again stayed by particularly booking this hotel for a stay again in June 2018 as well.
Probably the best in Shimoga if you leave the judging to me. Starts with a perfect welcome drink and polite staff, great options for food from a completely North Indian cuisine in Tiger Trails to an interesting fusion in Pinxxx lounge. To top it all, the management is so genuine in their care for guests. My second visit I had a couple of small hiccups that didn't go well with me but the management was so courteous and followed up continuously to find out what went wrong and assured to do their best to avoid it in future for any customer.
