Ruchi Punjabi Paratha is located just outside the Global Village Tech Park back gate (The park is situated in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, off Mysore Road, behind R. V. College of Engineering.). It is a small restaurant that can accommodate seating for about 25 people. A wide variety of Parathas (97 listed online) is its uniqueness and sets it apart from other neighbouring restaurants. The owner himself is a great chef and is friendly and courteous. He suggested that we try Mixed Paneer Paratha and Kaju Mixed Cheese Paratha, and both were equally good. We enjoyed Veg Fried Rice and regular Aloo Paratha, too. Curd and Paneer that are used in the preparation of dishes are produced in-house. Overall, it is a great place to try out diverse types of Parathas!
Ambiance - This outlet is located at a walking distance from Global Village Tech park. It is a small room which can accommodate seating of around 20 people. It gets very crowded in the noons and expect a waiting time of 20-30mins. The ambiance is very basic.
Service - As there is hardly space available to move around, the lady handed me with a notepad and a pen to write down our orders. This has never happened to me before. They follow a really unique serving strategy - that of a round robin technique. They fulfill the order of a table and only then proceed to the next. So even if you manage to find a seat, you will have to wait until the previously occupied tables are served before your order is picked up.
Price - Reasonable.
Taste - I tried the following items.
Roasted masala papad - Slightly on the spicer side, it tasted great. Highly recommended! We ordered the following parathas - Every paratha is large in size and served with a cup of plain curd. They add a generous serving of green chillies into all their servings. Be ready to eat spicy.
Sweet lassi - tasted good Buttermilk masala - Should have ordered just plain buttermilk as the masala in the buttermilk was similar to the masala in the stuffing.
Homely food, tasty, hygienic and worth the money. Must try Aloo cheese parota, mixed panner parota, Dal, paneer curries and their rice items. I was told they prepare Paneer themselves
