I am a student at Sangeeth Gurugriha for the past 5+ months, learning Kathak. This Academy is the best place to learn any dance form and music with the best teachers one can have. I learn Kathak with live tabla, which is a rare thing nowadays. My Guru, Aishwarya mam is an amazing trained dancer, who teaches us with utmost confidence and grace. Along with the proper theory, importance and origin of this dance form. I thank Soma mam and Sangeeth Gurugriha, for there service towards art, dance and music. I would highly recommend this place, to anyone who is sincerely willing to learn.
I have been a student for about 1.5 years and love everything about the school. My friend recommended me to the school and I am very thankful. Thanks to Soma Mam and Sangeet GuruGriha team, I am able to advance my Kathak journey and work on the things that seemed so hard, such as chakkars. They have made the classes accessible in both online and in-person formats and this makes long distance learning possible. I love how methodically our teacher, Aishwarya Ma'am presents the theory and practical of Kathak and helps us practice, so all our inhibitions are dissolved and we feel confident. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is sincerely looking for a great place to learn and practice.
Awesome place to learn Kathak dance. I have been learning since 1.5 years now. They have online and offline classes from beginners to advanced! My Guru Sarita Ma'am is the best teacher. She is so much fun and teaches in a way which builds our confidence to dance with grace
It’s really a very good experience of learning kathak at Sangeet Gurugriha. Online classes made it so easy to learn at home. The institute is amazing and enjoying offline classes now.
I've recently rejoined one of the Kathak classes here. Had taken a break because of a hectic work schedule and joined back here specifically, mainly on the back of my really good experience at this institute earlier.
The Kathak teachers I have had so far are great, the management is open to feedback on the classes and usually elicits it proactively from us, especially if there has been a change of staff. Though the Kathak teachers have changed a few times in my short time there (~1year 2months), this hasn't had too much of an impact as they ensure a replacement teacher is found soon enough, which means we miss few to no classes in-between.
The facilities are good, most rooms have air-conditioning, and the fees and schedule are reasonable as well. They now have the option of taking online payments, as well as payment by card on premises, both of which are very convenient.
I'd like to point out the current teacher taking the weekend Kathak classes is fantastic- very calm, patient and positive.
Seeing the growing list of classes they offer, my only wish is that they consider starting Carnatic violin lessons one day!
Please cross check the affiliation which they claim to have before you take admission. Certificates are not issued under this Blore institute name. It is located on top 3 floors of a restaurant and not having any fire safety measures in place. Wooden floors and mirrors everywhere. No emergency exits. Please think twice before sending your kids there. Teachers are dedicated but owners are unprofessional and rude. They need customer service lessons. Unpleasant experience and really very very expensive. Not worth it at all.
In response to your accusation below- Fyi. I left on my own so there was no question of you rusticating me. My appeal to you 6 months ago to change your attitude and make the building fire safe has fallen on deaf ears it appears. God save you and your students

Sangeet Gurugriha is a unique music, dance and fine arts institute in Bangalore which not only provides a wonderful opportunity to learn under experienced teachers but also to provide guidance for public performances, prepare for AIR (All India radio) & TV auditions. I have been associated as a faculty member with this institute for a couple of years and so far have been impressed with its professionalism. As a mother of a student also I am very happy with their environment. My child is happy to be there and learn from his teachers. This school holds affiliations from various universities and music organizations.
Sangeet Gurugriha is a go-to place for kids interested in classical dance forms and music. As a mother, I noticed that my daughter was trying to replicate steps by merely watching classical dance shows. When we spoke to Shoma ji about her interest, she helped us understand different school's of dance forms and enlightened us about Kathak. She was extremely sensitive and supportive about the child's interest and introduced us to the teacher, Nupur ji. On our first interaction with Nupur ji, we felt blessed. Nupur ji's passion to teach kids and orient parents to understand the nuances of dance is immaculate.
Similarly, both my son and daughter have been learning classical vocal at this school. I must mention that we found a thorough hindustani vocalist in Chandrani ji. She is another gem of the institute whose rigor and passion to teach is remarkable.
We wish that Sangeet Gurugriha should become centre of learning for all forms of dance and music under the able leadership of Shoma ji and Biswajit ji.
In my knowledge this is the best school to learn Indian classical dance - Kathak, Bharatanatyam and Hindustani Classical vocal music. My sister learning Kathak dance here last 3yrs and passed Jr Diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samaiti Allahabad. Really good and dedicated team really care and truly want the best for the student.
