The most breathtaking place in honnavara. You have to trek up a bit from the actual view point. There are many bushes and shrubs you have to navigate over. There are no defined path to walk which is a bit challenging.
Secondly, it gets extremely hot during afternoons. Highly suggest everyone to go for early morning or evening views. The views are breathing. Specially if you want to look at the river view with trains passing on the bridge
This is one of the best backwaters that you can find in Karnataka apart from kabini. Better you guys visit during mansoon Or early in the morning Or is humidity is unbearable.
A place worth getting into the interior back-end of the town of Honnavara.
The view of the Sharavathi estuary and the bridges is a visual delight worth spending 30 mins. If you get to see the movement of trains on the bridge, the experience will become even more worthwhile.
The river is at the widest if it's course here as it is about to run into the Arabian sea.
The site located inside the forest. Which will fulfill all your needs (jog falls, sharavati river, beautiful view points), Which boost both your physical and mental energy.
Site details: Gerosoppa is a small town located about 35 kms from Honnavar. History goes that a queen called Chennabhairavi Devi ruled these lands for over 54 years.
She was famously called "The Pepper Queen" and constructed this temple at Gerosoppa.
Not that great. There is a viewpoint available. As of oct 2021 there are trees grown up covering surrounding of the view point which was blocking the full view. Lonely place. Take safety precautions while visiting. You need to walk 10 mins from the end of road. No better place to turn vehicles at end of road.
One of the beautiful place and also a view point in honnavar town. ️ U can take your bike and car till the entrance and from there u need to walk for 10 minutes to the view point. Good place to visit for sunrise u can witness good sunrise from this place But the saddest part is this place is not well maintained. U can see more glass peaces near the view point. And if u have time u can get down near the tunnel it takes 10 minutes to get down and 20 minutes to climb up. Good place but not well maintained local people and few tourists using this place for consuming alcohol so sad. Note: Do visit the place and enjoy madi but make sure you don't thrash the place. Be a responsible traveller / tourist keep your surroundings near and clean.
