The Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall in Bangalore is situated in Cubbon Park which is a cream location in the city. Built in honor of the dewan of Mysore Sir K. Seshadri Iyer this monument in Bangalore is home to a luxurious library which offers literary classics that are not found anywhere else in India. Sir K. Seshadri Iyer served as the dewan of Mysore from 1883 to 1901.

The Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall houses the State Central Library. This library was set up 1915. If history is what you enjoy then this is exactly where you should be since this library offers collections from 0830-1900. The building is situated in the midst of a lovely garden that also has a statue of Sir K. Seshadri Iyer. Constructed entirely in red brick and mortar this monument in Bangalore is also a one stop destination for historical.

It’s one of the best libraries. You will get almost all the books you are searching for but many of the competitive exam’s books are Kannada books. And probably you are not allowed to take photographs inside the library.

One of the old libraries in Bangalore. The Library is well maintained. The collection of books is good. There is sufficient seating inside. There is a washroom facility inside & the washroom is neat & clean. There is a drinking water facility outside the library. This library will be closed on Monday. There are few rats inside the Library which need to be addressed. The staff is well behaved. This is the place for new book registration.

When I visited there that particular day ; it was raining down there heavily; beautiful weather ; felt great walking down those streets across in Bengaluru!

Very good library. A lot of costly periodicals also available in the upstair reading balcony. Five minutes walking only from the D exit of the Vidhan Saudha Metro Station. So easy to travel also. No need to pay any fee.

Good place for study neat and clean.

There are wide collection of books ranging across various subjects. It has a separate floor for newspaper archives, a separate room for competitive exam books. Attached with a decent garden. It is quite spacious with ample seating arrangements. Must visit for students as well adults who love books and those who will be writing competitive exams. Please note that you cannot borrow books from here. I enjoyed sitting here for hours together reading various books

Anyone interested can walk in and through its galleries and floors to get a feel of the old world grandeur the architecture exudes, with high ceiling, a great round hall, and Tuscan colomns. The Rose garden adds to its charm.
The library is very well maintained and is said to have a good collection of rare books. The top most floor serves as casual reading room and stocks a wide selection of Newspapers and Journals.
Timings: 8.30 Am to 7.30pm, Monday is weekly holiday.

Today I lost my new bag due to carelessness of employees. A worst experience I had in library ever. I don't mean that library is worst it's amazing but Employees are not working correctly they have token system but they are not taking token and returning our bags anyone can take any bag whichever they want. I had some important documents in my bag when I said them to check CCTV they said CCTV was not working instead of helping me to find my bag they are blaming me by saying that why did you keep those documents in your bag.

I had visited this place in the year 2019, the staff did not allow me to enter with my laptop. Can anyone confirm if the laptops are allowed now to be used inside the library, and is there WIFI available in this library? Also are there charging ports to recharge their laptops?
