Shiva Cave

I witnessed what I believe is black magic here, there were a bunch of folks doing something and the vibes weren't right, maybe don't visit alone or by yourself

This is an ancient cave in Gokarna. There's a Shiva temple inside the cave, so the name Shiva Cave as foreigners named it.
Torch is mandatory to walk into the cave.
There are bats hanging inside the cave, but they're harmless.
Its also called as GoGarbha.

This location is near to Kudle beach

Isolated, less populated, Silent, cool and Beautiful place. This is small cave with small temple of lord shiva.
There were mats for meditation.
Bats were there but they were harmless.

It is about 50 m away from road. After turning from main road, 1km road is not great.

Isolated but beautiful place. Such caves are hard to find in cities. It's also called as shiva cave as there is a small shiva temple inside it. Location shown on maps is accurate. You just need to walk up a bit to reach there. They have put up a flag as a sign.

Great place for meditation and spending some peaceful time. Need a strong torch or flash. The cave network spreaks to kilometers but its full of bats and maybe snakes. So if you have dare and adventure spirit, explore the caves or else peacefully spend 15-20 minutes near the temple. There is also a natural sky light through the caves which gets in fresh air and some light. Place worth visiting and is also close to sunset points.

The cave is also known as Shiva caves, the literal translation of the real name Gogarbha is Cow's womb. You can reach the cave from a road from Gokarna town or there is a pathway from Ramteertha temple (approx 2 km). It's historic and a well designed cave with ventilation for air and light. I was told by the person in the picture (Swami Shivanand), the cave is from the era of Ravaana. He maintains the cave while he visits here between December to February. Do carry a torch (cellphone torch won't justify the light to watch the inner caves and animals in) if you wish to see the bats and red frogs in the cave. Red frogs can be spotted in the cracks of the first cave turn on the left side. There are a few other caves within which lead to some other place, but with time they are blocked. I had a good time talking to Swami Shiva.

Well maintained. There is a small Siva shrine inside the cave. Nice to spend some alone inside.

This cave is an awesome place and we didn’t expect this to be there. We were just wandering on our way to cudle beach and we saw a board named shiva cave. We just followed the board and hiked up the mountain and we didn’t even thought that there’s a real cave. We were so scared at first and then we saw a shiva idol and his devotee there. It was an amazing experience for us.

If you like to meditate, then it's worth visiting the place. It's silent and the cave view from inside is awesome. It will take 5-10min to explore the cave, however if you like to meditate then it's up to you, the suggestion would be to come back before the sun sets. But you can take your time because Kudle beach is in a walkable distance from the cave so you can get local vehicles anytime.

A nice place. It's bit scary inside. A small entrance to the cave inside which there are lots of small tunnels.the gps location is accurate.

Very nice and serene place. Park the bike to the nearby resort, walk for a minute and there is the cave! You can locate it by seeing the orange flag.

Less known place. The opening is hidden. A whole new experience for first timers. No clear pathway to the opening, which is in a way good for some bats which live inside.
Quiet place for meditation if brave enough.

Place is very secluded. There are no signs or arrows to reach exactly till cave. It looks scary and risky as you wont find anyone near the cave. Inside the cave there is a small temple of shiv ji. And further path inside the cave is blocked (probably safety reasons). Go here on your own risk or better to go in a group.

A small cave worth the visit if you're near kulde beach or going on that way. It's about 50 meters from the main road on top of a small hill.

Cave was so near to the Kudle beach. Some 10-15 mins of trek is there but nothing worth to go there. Just small cave was there.

Location is absolutely right at Gmaps. One visiting here should not be expecting a long cave but is a small one with no priest inside the Cave temple. (probably due to COVID).
Road leading to it will ensure bumpy ride but not worth as an experience.
Since it's between Rocky mountain, one need to start walk navigation, once drive navigation is over.

We will get scared if we go alone or only 2.

Excellent place! Very calm and great views and surroundings. One place where even loard shiva would come and meditate.not at all crowded! Fresh air! A good thrill!

One shiva statute in the cave and you can also see the nice view from the cave. If you got stuck on the road. Then you can ask the resort security person.

Good place to sit and relax inside with cold atmosphere. Then next to this place there is kudle and om beach. Which is of 10-15min walk

Very devotional place of big shiva linga, little tricky to reach this place, on the way to Gokarna and kudle beach, you need to walk from the main road to reach this place, very dark inside, there are some bats inside, there is one baba explained the importance of that place and there is one big hole through which sun light come inside the cave and at perticular time it will focus on shiva linga, very rare and must visit place

This is on the way from Gokarna main beach to Kudle beach. We were walking along this path and thats when we came across this cave on maps. It seemed to be very religiously kept, and it was quite isolated. A very calm and quite place. We didn't dare to go inside since there seemed to be no one around other than a saint I believe. It's a very small cave that I didn't notice it even while standing right besides it. Also, there is no proper path to get here from the main road. It's a 100 m climb from the main road.

Beautiful place with really powerful energy.
Really recommend it for meditation, yoga or just relax. There probably you can meet some baba, who can tell you a lot about meditation, mudras and yoga.

Didficult to find as it has a very small opening to enter it, one has to walk for 5 mints from the main road to reach the cave, there is one small shiv ling temple inside the cave.

Very dark and there was nobody around.could hear bats inside and a shivalinga could also be spotted

Entrance is not prominent. A sage informed that there are 2 paths from the cave. One leads to Varanasi and the other to Gokarna Beach. Cave is inhabited by bats. There is a Shiva Linga temple inside. There is a hole through which sunlight enters the cave.

Nice place, but not developed, should go buy walk for half km inside this cave has been formed above 25000years back according to local Pandits Gautama Buddha and many others Maha Rishis visited this place seems.

This place is little hard to find. You want to wall for around 200fr from the approach road. Avoid going alone. Go in group. Have torch for entering inside the cave. Suitable for adventure freaks. You can spend Maximum 30 min over here. Not suitable for aged people. Avoid going in summer. You want to be careful before entering the cave. There will be bunch of bats and other insects.

"Gogarbha Cave" is the proper name of this ancient Hindu spiritual place! Requesting you to recorrect place name as real. It is very ancient cave in India not only in Gokarna!

Its a beautiful place and you can meet a Shiva sitting inside. A very knowledgeable man and a very nice person to talk to.

A must-visit place in Gokarna. It is near the Kudle beach entrance and you can ask the auto drivers there for guidance. There is not directions as such. Walk 100-150 metres towards the main road from Kudle beach entrance (from the road), take a left (there's an opening in the fence), follow the track, walk around 200 metres and you'll see a flag. That's the cave. Go inside. It's a good place for meditating. There are bats inside. Please don't disturb them with flash lights.
