Shri Umamaheshwar Cottages

This is one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed. The room was alright but not worth the amount. The water in the bathroom was very unclean, no difference between taking bath in this bathroom or in the beach. There is no wifi service or room service too.

They have asked for advance money for pre booking and after that they are not providing any booking details or neither returning my money.

They suppose that you pay only for the room and so doesn't provide any hospitality services.

This place has zero hygiene and poor customer service.they received us with an unclean room even after we pre scheduled and informed our arrival.

Rooms was okayish for the price we pay but the sheets were veryyy dirty.we slept without blankets.

Giving 3 stars only for its good location.
Booking from Ibibibo was overpriced. Poor wifi signal in my room, was not given any attention to complaints.

AC, bathrooms and beds were good

Room Service is for namesake, Even the service boys accepted in front of us that they didn't clean the washrooms.
Non-AC Rooms are decent, AC rooms are better.
Bedsheets and blankets were not properly cleaned.
Only advantage is, it is at the Kudle beach where not much options are available for stays,

It’s a decent place to stay in Kulde beach, rooms are clean and the bed is confortable. It’s just a 20 meters from the beach. The guesthouse is located at the back the the restaurant front line. So it’s quite and still very close to the beach.
When you arrive for the first time you access the guesthouse from the beach, you will see a sign between 2 restaurants.
Beat is to park at Shivaprasad guest house. It cost R50 for bikes and R100 for cars for 24h. From the parking it’s a short walk. You can ask the staff from the guesthouse to help you to carry the luggage if need be for a small tip.

Rooms have bed bugs. Although they have offered other rooms but in front of them i have shown bed bugs on other rooms as well.
No basic amenities available like drinking water, for room cleaning you have to go and inform them. If you don't ask them for cleaning then it won't be cleaned for your entire stay.
Worst part is they took 1800rs for AC room per night but ac will be switched off at night and you can't use it. Once you sleep the ac will be switched off. I have stayed 3 nights and every night I faced the same issue. I think they have master switch on reception. For reference i have posted pictures of ac which shows light on main box but ac is not on. Also it keeps switching on and off multiple times at night.
Room does not have tv, fridge, electric kettle. So for 1800rs you will get only one room for one night with bed bugs nothing else.
Afternoon most of them go outside to explore so ac will not be used and at night ac does not work so it's a regular room. When you switch on ac it makes very proud sound in the pipe which is gone from bathroom and it is too irritating. I have attached pic of bathroom with ac pipe.
After 2 days I asked them to clean the room and that too they have not cleaned near beds and not cleaned the bathroom. Just few areas they cleaned and left.
Don't consider this property as after complaining about bed bugs they don't took any action and at end you will not get good sleep after tired day. I have attached pic of bedbugs which i have thrown from bed and i killed it.

Best place to stay and comfortable. The rooms are spacious n clean, comes with AC.

Good place to stay at Kudale beach. If you plan to visit Gokarna then stay only at Kudale beach. A lot of options are available here. Uma Maheshwari cottage has only stay facilities, for tea, water and food you have to go to nearby hotels.

Awesome location, ambience for the price that too on the beach! It was really a good experience. You won't get hifi services but you get hot water too.:) they provide 2 lean back relaxing chairs for each room outside on the porch.
Definitely recommended if you want a simple stay.

I really made a very good decision of stayg here. I just loved the place it is right on the beach. Staffs are too friendly and the stay for reasonable with good facilities. Thanks a lot

Worst place to stay, it's small box type rooms with out hot water supply. No proper road to reach the hotel.

Very reasonable with comparison to its location which is very near to beach.
Non AC Rooms cost you around 1300 and Ac rooms costs 1800 with double bed option.
Food service is not available but you can go to Cafe just outside the hotel.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but with out view.
But still good budget option near Kudle Beach

Place is very near to kudle beach gokarna.service is good.hot water isn't available 24/7.some bad drainage smell comes sometimes.

Recently we had a great stay here, we have visited here with family.rooms are very clean and budget friendly, strongly recommend who wanted the simple stay at the right on the batch.

This place is on kudle beach. Good place to stay, good and helping staff, close to beach, lot of shacks around for food, rooms are okay for the money you pay (hope that you will spending more time on beach). Reaching to any stay facility in Kudle beach is a task as you need to carry ur luggage all the way down through long steps and take it back through that steps.but comparatively its the best beach to stay.

The best budget friendly accomodation one could ask for. Right on the beach and oasis cafe which is a cherry on the top. The owner is very humble and allows early check in and late check out at a very reasonable cost which is very cooperative. Very safe for women. No disturbance at all. Extremely peaceful and very prompt service if you have any concerns. You can get contacte details of taxi services and other activities in the reception. Definately recommending and coming back to this place. Easy on the pocket and great stay.

Just one thing to remember: This applies to any hotels near kudle beach: Any hotel will need you walking 100 stairs and a good 10 minute hike to reach the beach and the hotels. So please carry a luggage which you can lift and walk for a good 10 minutes. Anyone with health conditions and unable to hike down should not choose to stay in kudle beach as every hotel requires you to hike to get there.

Overall this place is 5/5 with respect to cleaniless, location, behaviour and budget.

Not happy with the stay bathroom was not so clean and the attenders didn't bother about anything. The lights were out sometimes and even the charging plug didnt work and fan didn't work properly and no clean water to drink and they don't even clean the room till we vacate.

Its just ok ok. Lot of mosquitoes, won't let sleep entire night, room won't be cleaned until one vacate.

Very decent cottage at a cheap price in kudle beach and it's right in front of the beach.recommended for all- couples, freinds, family.

Good place to stay on kudle beach. The beach is around 50 metres from the cottages. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

Rooms were okay for the price especially compared to the other options available. Staff were friendly and service was okay. Located near to the Kudle beach. They do not have parking facilities. Will have to opt for the paid parking facility which is a pretty long walk.

Very Nice place. Could have ceiling fan instead of wall fan in their standard rooms so that the rooms have enough ventilation.

Semi deluxe AC rooms are clean and comfortable with warm water, outdoor seating. Right at the beach, next to some wonderful eating joints.

It's not that great but okay for 2 nights stay. In house hotel not available even they don't provide water bottle, however has aqua guard provisioned. Easy to locate from Kudle Beach, entrance is between Oasis Cafe and Sangrila Cafe. Rooms are small but as mentioned would be enough for only if you are taking it for night sleep. Overall it satisfied us.

I am saying this loud and clear do not stay at Uma. Better sleep on the beach but not in umamaheshwar.

Location is really good. But there were no basic amenities in the room. Also.there was a big spider in the bathroom.

Good place, rooms are clean, they have rooms from normal to deluxe you can opt any rooms depending on ur budget.

Decent place with reasonable price tag. Bit compact, but clean. Would recommend ot for bachelors and friends, not for families (because of most people staying near beaches in Gokarn are drunk and high most of the times)

An affordable place by the beach, but lacks many basic amenities such as geyser and AC. Stay here only if you are travelling on a stringent budget as they do not even provide food to the room or drinking water. The cottages are poorly built with leaky roofs and lots of bedbugs.

Rooms are okay, if you take the new cottages. The old cottages for 1000 rupees is not that worth and the new cottage cost is 1500 which was 1260 in November. But the cottages are right on Kudle Beach and that's a plus point.

I want to tell all the people that Uma Maheshwar cottage is third class in hospitality, I have booked a room on phone with someone named Rajesh but when I reached there his mobile no which they have given on their website also, was not available and the caretaker did misbehaving and he didn't talk with us properly, we called so many times to so called Rajesh but his mobile no.was continuously not available.me, my husband and my 3 yrs old daughter was exhausted by travelling.we reached there at 5.30 a.m and their pathetic behaviour make us more exhausted than travelling.this is my first visit at Gokarna, I was very excited about my trip but these guys ruin my excitement by their pathetic behaviour and last not least they are not deserve any like, I had booked this cottage after reading reviews on MakeMyTrip but i had a very bad experience with them.so guys plz if you want to book it then book it on your own behalf bcoz they are not even pick your call

The place is located on Kudale beach. The beach is a bit difficult to find if you are travelling at night.

The cottages are clean but not very spacious.

The rent is a bit higher on Weekends and holidays as the demand is high.

This place is just 100mts away from the waves! A decent place, not too fancy very basic but pocket friendly.

Locationwise this place is perfect. However, it feels like these cottages havent been maintained for a while. For what you get it's a bit overpriced.

I loved this place, I got this place for 900 rs per day, they allowed a early check in with no extra cost. The rooms are very basic, there are this cute little cottages. Good to click fotos in the vicinity, they don't have hot water running in taps, but they do provide hot water in bucket, the beach is juss at 30 sec from the cottage, that's the best part of this cottage, this place is a bit difficult to find, don't take the road to athamagya resort, just ahead of it is a board for kudle Beach take that, there is no parking at the beach, so park the vehicle up, after that, there is a huge staircase, which coming up, it's a 10 min hike. The cottage is besides oasis shack

This property is right on the Kudle Beach. Need to walk about 500 mts to reach from the road as beach is located down the hill. Rooms are very basic with metal cots and hot water is provided on demand. Only plus is it is close to the beach. And accessible to most of the shacks.

Pros:

1. Nice location, close to the beach. Less than a minute walk.

Cons:

1. Photos are misleading, it's just a small room without any furniture n all.
2. Small coat, old cupboard, average bathroom. Thermocol ceiling.
3. They charged 1250 for a night, which was too much for that room.

Location is just one minute away from Kudle beach. But facilities are not upto the mark. Hot water system was not functioning, rooms probably not maintained after the construction. The bedsheets and towels provided by them were not properly cleaned. There is a small varanda in front of each room with chairs and a table positioned there. Some foreigners also choose to stay in that lodge. I couldn't find any large hotel nearby.
The place is not connected with motorable path. We have to walk for about ten minutes to reach our destination from the end point of motorable road.

Starting with the room. The room is a lot smaller than the pictures online. The bed is really hard and sheets are dirty. There is no supply of hot water in the room. There are centipedes who might come to visit you at night. The staff is okayish. Difficult to communicate in English and hindi. Overall the stay was just fine for the price. Hoped better.

Wonderful to stay just 30 mts distance to kudle beach everything is fine affordable for everyone only thing we need to walk through steps from kudle parking place for every cottages and hotels are in this beach almost 300 mts from that parking

We got the RCC roof rooms on the ground floor opposite to the reception. Very well maintained property especially noting that this is a beach side set up. Requests were attended to promptly. You have to park the car at the hill top and trek down about 150-200 steps but you will have the room boy to carry your luggage. This applies to all cottages in Kudle beach though and was clearly explained to me over the phone before booking. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing rooms. One of the best on Kudley beach. V decent pricing. Most importantly, clean washrooms. Nice outside cottage seating. Well maintained. Not very helpful staff.

Stayed here for three days and the rooms were good. However the prices of the food are very high like all other hotels and restaurants in the beach.
