The temple is on the main road very near to banasankari bmtc bus stand and the metro station. The temple is moderately large and looks very good. The area gets the name because of this ammavaru inside. The temple is very crowded during dussehra days. Lord shiva lingam is also present inside the temple. Very good place to visit.
A blissful place. Do visit once at least. You find too many people on Tuesdays and Fridays. So you can avoid those days if you wanna have a peaceful darshana, and Sunday too. Do check the temple timings and go. I had been on the odd timing once and had to wait for an hour or so.
Devotees loveable temple, area also named after God name. Local badami for bangloreans. The Banashankari Temple in Bangalore has a long, illustrious history. The deity of the temple, Banashankari Devi, is thought to have been initially revered as a guardian and protector by the nearby peasants. The phrase "Banashankari, " which alludes to the goddess Parvati, is a combination of the words "Banu, " which means "forest, " and "Shankari, " which means "temple. "
During the Chola era in the ninth century, the temple rose to prominence. At the same site as the current Banashankari Temple, it is stated that a Chola queen built a temple. Over the years, the temple complex underwent a number of extensions and modifications, and it has served as a significant place of worship for residents of Bangalore and the surrounding districts.
