Sri Nimishambha Temple

Nimbishamba Temple is located about 2 km from Srirangapatnam. Located on the banks of river Cauvery, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Nimbishamba.

Goddess Nimbishamba is considered to be the fiery incarnation of Durga. He destroys the evil forces and blesses the devotees.

The temple was built in the 17th century. In the sanctum sanctorum of this temple, there is an idol of Goddess Nimbishamba. The idol of the goddess is depicted holding the uttama danda, pasam, ankusam and choola in hand.

The Navratri festival held in this temple is very popular. During this festival, special abhishekams and decorations are done to the goddess.

A good temple at the bank of river, in noon annaprasadm was there, ladoo and sari sold as prasadam.mata jee is beautiful and charming, we visited while coming from mysuru toward Bangalore.
There are venders nearby, one of most visited temple by locals. We landed here unplanned.

Good ambience, neat maintenance. Midday lunch has started here and goes on upto 3.30pm I belive.

Very vibrant temple, feels so relaxed.
Has Ganesha temple, Surya temple and Hanuman temple within premises.

Very fresh veggies available in this premise at very cheap price.

Beautiful place to visit, Goddess Nimishamba is dressed brightly with jewels and silk saree. Known to grant boon every minute as per her name, the temple is surrounded with many small vendors selling vegetables, fruits, flowers and toys. There is small river flowing nearby, now it's almost a stream during summer. You can take a pair of clothing to enjoy if time permits.

It's a holi shrine where godess Lakshmi is called as nimishambha worshipped. And River Caveri flows.

Main deity was closed at 1 pm but inside teme promises two other deities were open to worship. Not so crowded. Inside is clean. Will see main deity in next visit as it will open at 4 pm.

Wow.such a devotional place.we can't able to take the eyes from her.such a powerful God.spiritual positive vibrations inside and gurukal as also so kind and giving enough time to spend inside the karpakraha.and securities and guards also very helpful for all people guiding all people in respectful manner.and river beside the temple makes our mind peaceful and give us a pleasant feel.and we also get some fresh good quality vegetables selling by the vegetable sellers who grew them near the village river side.looks all very pleasant and worship is also Good.

Due to the pandemic strictly needed to wear mask and use sanitizer even in the temple they won't provide and prasadam from temple side, but you can pay and buy 30rs -2 ladoos

Inside the aura is so positive and deity of Maa Nimishamba and Shiva are really worth for prying.

Nice temple near cauvery river. Good ambience. Good darishan of Sri Nimishambha devi. At the front of the idol there is Sri chakara. Every one can take bath in the river. The poojari's are money minded (only serve for the devoties who put 100's of money in the plate.)

One of the famous temple in Karnataka. Devotees offer Lemon mala to goodess to get her blessings. The goddess name is Nimishamba. It is learnt that your wish will come to true within very short term me as Nimisha (minutes). Shri chakra pooja one should do here.

Very nice temple. Near Mysore. Buy ₹100 ticket for quick darshan. Weekends heavily crowded. Parking available. Fresh vegetables are sold in front of temple. Worth buying.

Proper cleaness must be mentioned, drinking water should be provided, parking areas must be well maintained. Security must be in its place.

Best place to visit during spring season. Temple has been a epitome of peace since decades. The river flowing besides gives more relief in a small boat ride. Near by is the Tipu sultans hiding places and mosques which are the most visited places. Worth a ride or drive.

Good place to visit, very quiet place to enjoy Kaveri river bath and can visit temple just next to the river. Old temple but not that popular, can enjoy a lovely horse ride.

It's a very good temple to visit as the temple is next to a flowing river which is a such a nice feeling. The river is not deep as well and comes upto knee height and we can see many children playing in the water as well. The temple is also very good and has good crowd pulling. Do visit this when travelling from Bangalore to Mysore or staying nearby Mysore.

We can go there by auto or bus from srirangapatna bus station.but limited bus only
. If u want to go by auto.

This temple of Nimishamba is located at a distance of two kilometers from Srirangapatna, on the road leading to Sangam. The temple is at a higher elevation on the bank of the Cauvery. The river is flowing at a lower level and steps cut on stone slabs have been placed to reach the river easily. Though the shrine is small, It has seven-tiered Rajagopuram. Goddess Nimishamba sannidhi is to the right as we enter the shrine. The Goddess is adorned with jewelry and garlands. It is a belief that your wish is granted within a minute of your prayer to this Goddess Nimishamba. You can worship Goddess Shiva in the form of Linga adjustant to Nimishamba. You can also worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana next to Lord Shiva. All these three sannidhis are in a row

Temple premises is clean and holy.
But the water bank which was very famous and historical is now gone to a waste land, with full of dirt, drainage and in very worst condition.

Great temple, very famous locally. Nearby Kaveri river is there. Not many facilities to get good food like restaurant etc. Bring your own food or drive to Srirangapatna nearby.

"ನಿಮಿಷ" ಎ೦ಬ ಪದದ ಅರ್ಥವು "ಒ೦ದು ಕ್ಷಣ" ಎ೦ದಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಿಮಿಷಾ೦ಬ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ದೇವತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರ ಕೋರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಡೇರಿಸುವಳೆ೦ಬ ನ೦ಬಿಕೆ ಇದೆ. ನಿಮಿಷಾ೦ಬೆಯು ಭಗವತಿ ಪಾರ್ವತಿದೇವಿಯ ಮತ್ತೊ೦ದು ರೂಪವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ದ೦ಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದೆ.

ನಿಮಿಷಾ೦ಬ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಸುಮಾರು 400 ವರ್ಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಿ೦ದೆ, ಮುಮ್ಮಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅವರ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊ೦ಡಿತು. ಶಿಲೆಯೊ೦ದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಶ್ರೀಚಕ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೆತ್ತಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಶಿಲೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವಿಯ ಮು೦ದಿರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯು ಸಾಪೇಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಸಣ್ಣದೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಗೋಪುರವು ಮಾತ್ರ ಏಳು ಅ೦ತಸ್ತುಗಳಷ್ಟು ಭವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮುಕ್ತರಾಜನೆ೦ಬ ಅರಸನು ಶಿಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಚಕ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೊರೆಯಿಸಿದನೆ೦ದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈತನು ಬಳಿಕ ಆತ್ಮನಿರ್ವಾಣವನ್ನು ಹೊ೦ದಿದನು.
ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ನ೦ಬಿಕೆಗಳು
ಭಕ್ತರು ನಿಮಿಷಾ೦ಬ ದೇವಿಗೆ ಲಿ೦ಬೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಲಿ೦ಬೆ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅರ್ಚಕರು ಅ೦ತಹ ಲಿ೦ಬೆ/ಲಿ೦ಬೆ ಮಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತರಿ೦ದ ಪಡೆದು ಅವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಚಕ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇವಿಯ ಪಾದಗಳ ಮೇಲಿರಿಸಿ, ಬಳಿಕ ಅವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೇ ಹಿ೦ದಿರುಗಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಹರಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅರ್ಚಕರು ಸಲಹೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ನೀವು ದೇವಿಯ ಪ್ರಸಾದದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದ ಲಿ೦ಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒ೦ದೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ದೇವರ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒ೦ದಿಷ್ಟು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಇರಿಸಬಹುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸ್ವಚ್ಚ, ತಾಜಾ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೋ, ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೋ ವಿಸರ್ಜಿಸಬಹುದು ಅಥವಾ ಲಿ೦ಬೆಯ ರಸವನ್ನು (ಪಾನಕದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ) ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂಬಹುದು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿ೦ದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭ್ಯುದಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Nice temple located mysore. Calm and quiet. Located in the bank of a river. Ample car parking present. On the way there are many rose gardens. Also tipu sultans palace is on the way. Temple is open for most of the time. Can get pulliodara or curd rice as offering and its really tasty. River is a bit polluted and if cleaned properly with the devotees it will be awesome. Beware of thieves when it is crowded. There are security staffs but last time when we visited saw someone who lost everything.purse, dress and what not, everything when he went to bath in the river. Sad for that. Otherwise good temple.

Sri nimishamba temple very famous and powerful spiritual place. Temple placed on the bank of river kaveri. Mata nimishamba have powerful shakti which every one can feel it. Every day archaka Swamy perform pooja and on special occasions like dasara navaratri they perform special pooja.

Very nice temple. Lovely sight of river aside the temple. Quality time can be spent with the family. Promotion of local artisans and crafts man can be seen. Fun games and horse riding facilities are available at this place.
