Sunset point, Hampi Hippie Island

Not sure if it was just the view or the fact that I enjoyed the view with my buds that made it unforgettable.

Although this place is known for the sunset, the sunrise at this place is also quite mesmerizing.

Personally I love sunset n always try to chase it as and when i get a chance so this spot was the perfect place to experience the beauty of sunset with the backdrop of Hampi

Amazing place! Now a bit out of bounds and very quiet anyway. The road is a bit thorny but that adds to the challenge.
There are many rocks in the complex of different difficulty levels for bouldering. It is highly recommended!

Its a forest area where you need to climb to the top in order to see the perfect sunset which is significance of the hampi.

Remembering those moments I had in 2019 January to February, a month of pure nomadic pleasure, camping in the boulders alone or with some friends I made there, and the Amaya camping spot under the coconut trees and bouldering to shivmukh with international boulders where none even locals doesnt go because it’s too risky and 8b climbs reach on top of it, those chai kids in the mornings, evening sunsets in different heights of rocks, monkey temple, sugreevas hidden temple and the guru ji who fed me and let me stay with them for 2days in the middle of nowhere but like in mars or alienated, and music and roaming around hampi by walking, feels like nothing but dream now when living in dubai concrete jungle.
Missing thimmanna, charlotte (my Charly), Matt, neeshe, naresh bhai, jimmy uncle, Carlson. If you ever see this now that u all are still in my heart for the love and moments we had for days.

Very difficult to reach by road & no definite path define to reach to top where the view is supposed to be good. After hippie Island closure this place is very isolated. Better go with some local or any one who know way around

Don't just go there at the time of sunset. I would suggest that you go there an hour before and enjoy the landscape in different colours

A peaceful and serene place to hangout. Get yourself drenched in the peacefulness this place offers. Great place to hike and discover and sit back to enjoy the beautiful Hampi sunsets

Paddy fields on one side and Great gigantic boulders on the other. This place looks so unreal. The boulders look as if someone has balanced them like that on purpose. It was believed that once the Hindu Lord Hanuman used to play marbles with these rocks. According to the mythology this is believed to be the birth place of Lord Hanuman. Let me tell you one thing as soon as I reached Hampi I felt a strong sense of something I have never felt it before.

It's lovely to watch people from different lands sitting on the rocks and watching together the sun going down.

Just after crossing the river from the ferry and crossing small market upstairs, without turning left towards the town just walk straight you'll reach this beautiful sunset point which is filled up with amazing people around the world who are playing music have sips of tea or just lost in the trance of music or just smoke. You get to see the amazing city of Hampi from the top which will be sunkissed in the evening and look like a painting with beautiful farms, trees boulders and houses.

This place is superb. You can enjoy sun set on the top of hill with foreigners and good music played with musical instruments by the foreigners. And also there is availability of veriety of foods like Indian Chinese continental etc. And also good place for yoga and meditation.

Very serene and beautiful sunset point on the hippie island. Absolutely worth the visit. A very basic trek up, barely 10mins. Amazing view of Virupaksha temple from atop the hill. The road leading up to the point is a little bumpy. But an absolute worth it.

One of the must visit place if you like being in the serenity of the nature. Be their for a sunset or sunrise, it will definitely a good experience. Moderate hiking difficulties, 5 minutes only.

Visitors and locals please be mindful enough not to throw trash around.

A must sunset to attend if you are staying at Hippie Island. All the tourists gather here at the sunset. Artists with their instruments sing songs and tge whole atmosphere is truly mesmerizing.

Best point to capture the view of Temple and sunset. Easy hike of 5 min and friendly people around.

STOP calling it 'Hippie' something! Don't bring the locals in trouble.it has a name which is Virupapur Gaddi aka Hampi Island.there is NO hippie anywhere.and before you start arguing just don't.please!

Great spot for watching the sunset. It is very close to the main strip on hippie island in Hampi. The climb is easy and will take you approximately 5 odd mins to reach atop from where you can see most of the landscape. There are people singing and playing drums around sunset on many occasions. Will highly recommend checking out this spot if you are in Hampi

The view is very nice, we spent around 2-3 hours at the top of the hills and it was very nice. Not so crowded also.

A beautiful place to see the sunset. A little trekking is required, but it's not all that hard.

Located on Hippie island. A short 5 min ride to this mini sized hill which seems to be popular amongst the climbers. Went on a Saturday which meant it had a fair share of crowd but there good vibes throughout and I really enjoyed my time there.

It's a must place to visit hampi.one side Stone Boulder and other side paddy field.

One of the best sunset point in South India.be very careful to do some adventures on the rocks.climbing hill is an experience too

Beautiful. Worth taking efforts to climb mahanga hills for sunset, even sun rise is also beautiful from here. Adding photos of sunrise as well.

Hampi sunsets are amazing and spots like these make them all the better. I met some great people up on these spots and there is usually some little guy trying to sell you some chai

Nice place to visit in Hampi. Located on a hill top, accessible via a trail.

You can park your car in a paid parking area (priced at 100/-) nearby if required, or try taking to the bottom of the hill. The only thing to look out for is the very narrow single lane road, spotted with loads of restaurants/guest houses and shops.

There is a river near by where you get boats to access the ruins and tourist spots near by like Monolithic Ganesha, monolithic Nandi etc. But, you can also cover them via a direct road, if you are staying a Hospeth.

Would recommend carrying loads of water as you only get local make water bottles in the area and you will be walking a lot.

Have heard that tourists gather for a jamming session 5PM onwards.

Breathtaking sunset views with a little bit of adventure thrown in for good measure in climbing up boulders for the best views.the sunrise is also spectacular for those who are lazy to go all the way till Hanuman temple.

One of the most peaceful place which I wanted to spend looking at for a longer time and felt like I litreally want time to stop there for a little more while.

Nice Place with crazy rocks. Lovely overview of landscape. But dirty, bottles and plastic everywhere.
