One of the worst so called sea food place I have ever visited in Karwar. U can rather travel to Mangalore, have food in Machlis and come back to Karwar and get the person who would have ordered the food, would be still waiting to receive the food. Swetha herself went to catch fish I guess, because I am still waiting inside hotel. This is the spot review with honesty this hotel can ever get.
Food is really bad, charges really really high and the food quality is like raw items which are under cooked like prawns and fish serves onto our plate, those dishes are bland in taste and the quantity is like serving just a small sample item before order big dish, i warn u guy kindly avoid visiting this place, waste of money, time and everything, cost really high, small quantity, dont fall for those useless high reviews, final saying avoid as much as possible.
Nice place to have local Karwari food. It's little crowded during peak lunch hours. Closes in noon 3.30pm. For dinner they open again at 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Can find various types of fish dishes her.
One of the finest meals last week. Awesome seafood! Superbly well priced. A hugely busy place with a high turnover. Recommended by many of our friends it was truly worth it!
It's a hidden gem near Karwar Market with tons of options. We always try to visit this place whenever we are traveling through Uttara Kannada. This time we had a vegetarian member in the group so we ordered a Veg Pulav and Batata Kappe (Fodi/rawa fry) too and it was amazing. We did not expect a proper fish joint to serve such well made vegetarian food as well. Definitely a must try for Karwar visitors.
Don't go by the entrance. Looks like narrow gully. But, authentic flavours of sea food. You are assured of a local way of tawa rava fry and not a deep fried one. Price is reasonable too.
Absolutely delicious fish varieties albeit a little expensive compared to similar restaurants in and around their establishment. The preparations are authentic karwari and wholesome.
North Canara of seafood is really super! North Canara is part of Karnataka state just before entering the border of Goa state. We had super lunch at SWETA LUNCH HOUSE. Thali, seafood etc.
We ordered fish thali, bombil rawa fry (Bombay duck), fried rice, dal tadka and mushroom chilli. Really great tasting food, great quality. The only complaint I have is that the service is slow but it is something that is common in this area so not a surprise. The silver lining is that everything was fresh and hot.
Everyday place for a meal, as well as a hit among tourists who crave for a sea food lunch. It is authentic karavali cuisine at its best, atleast in recent times.
Good for take aways! Dine-ins would be bit on a uncomfortable side. Congested seating arrangements. Food is delicious and fair portions. Value for money!
Good delicious and sumptuous local sea food cuisine. The outlet proudly shows the NDTV Good food guide certificate and it's worth it. Don't forget to try the Prawns rava fry, crab butter fry, bombil fry and pomfret. A sea food lovers delight.
Family run 'Coastal Karnataka Special' food junction. Good quality, Great taste, Fair pricing.waiting time is a concern though. Must visit while in Karwar!
Shweta lunch home is a non-vegetarian eatery in Karwar city. It's speciality is fish thali. Fish lovers can visit this restaurant. It's a family restaurant and doesn't have bar in it. Liquor is not allowed and not served here. Ambiance is good. Variety of fish items is available. One can eat regularly over here. Rate wise also it is good. The owners Mr. Shyam and Mr. Chetan Basrur are very polite and soft spoken Karwari Konkani. Highly recommended for fish food.
Amazingly fresh sea food. The seating and ambience may not be to the liking of all. But the food, taste, quality and quantity is just superb. I would rate this above Amrut Sea Food Restaurant in Karwar. I am forced to give it a 4 star just cutting short due to the ambience, it deserves a 5 star when it comes to the food and taste etc.
Mr. Aslam, the waiter there was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He gave an excellent table service. Prawns Rawa Fry, King Fish Rawa Fry, Fish Chilly, Fish Thali are a must try there. Go there at 12: 00 PM to avoid the crowd during lunch hours. You will truly enjoy your meal there.
A very good dinning, the ambiance is very welcoming and charming and a perfect tastes of seafoods, Menu is extensive and seasonal to a particularly high standard, affordable prices to the seasons, Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.
Rush. Busy. Not so special. Regular restaurant. Over hyped. Good food. During rush hour ppl wait at your back for you to finish and so they can occupy the table. So irritating.
Food is great you will love the variety offered, try the fish thali for sure. The place is small in size but the 1st floor can get very noisy. Service was good but just a little slow coz of the crowd.
Fresh seafood with amazing local taste without any hype, homely ambience and realistic pricing. Mr Basrur is an amazing host and will suggest what's the catch of the day! Overall a wonderful experience after having biked nonstop for nearly 550kms from Bangalore.
First and most important, this hotel stinking very badly. There is no hygiene maintened. Food is cheap but not that tasty. Curry and it's masala was not marinated properly. I did not find it as karvari.
Loved the place. Best place to eat fish and meals in Karwar. Provides value for money. Attracts family crowd. Have wide variety of dishes. Parking space available.
Over hyped, I don't know how they got so many good reviews but I had very bad experience, I travel a lot and check many place for good food but this place left me disappointed. The food this not good at all, better checkout some other place in karwar
Neat little place for trying out seafood and local fare of Karwar. Has ample seating and service is fairly quick. When it comes to seafood they have a vast menu with different fish fries, fish curry and more. You also get vegetarian and chicken North Indian and Chinese dishes, but it's the seafood dishes that draws people to this place.
Cozy place, pocket friendly & serves delicious coastal style food. Specialized in seafood. We loved the Fish thali, crab ghee roast and biriyani. Highly recommended for sea food and coastal food lovers.
Prawns Fry is a must, fish meal was according to its price, is a bit crowded during lunch hours and seating arrangement isn't that proper enough. But good is tasty and less oily.
Good tasty food. Fish thali was good. Variety of fish available. Reasonable price. Bit crowded during peak hours. Will have to wait. AC section available. Washrooms are behind the premises.
Food is too much. Is too much good. I think late night food service little bit. More than good. After 10: 30pm. Otherwise food and service is very very well. I'm happy and my guests also happy. Thank u.
