A person who wants to get out of the normal style can definetly get a good shot of it. There were many dishes which looked yummy and taste delicious. The mock tail are a must try wen u get there.

Fantastic food. Baos and Sushi is excellent. Nice small bites. One of the best pan Asian in Bangalore.

Had a good time with a dear friend. We ordered a few items only as we were not too hungry. What we ordered was tasty.
The Bora Bora was good but the Sakura was tooo sweet!

Way too expensive as the quantity of food provided is not sufficient at all. Even after spending 1250 rupees for 2 people we had to go to Rameshwaram Cafe to eat Vada.

Definitely the best Asian Cuisine in Bangalore. The Pork Belly is absolutely amazing.and the spicy red chicken Ramen is what makes me travel from north bangalore at least every couple of weeks.

Located in one of the busiest streets in Indiranagar, this place is definitely a must try if you like good pan Asian cuisine.

The ambience is not fancy but pretty casual and welcoming It is located in front if the volt fitness studio and on the 3rd floor if a building (above bounce saloon and spa).

I tasted the dimsums (both vegetarian) and was pretty happy with the taste and consistency of the dimsums. The sauce and dips on the sides ate also delicious and you might be tempted to finish it before the main course.

I also ordered the Ramen (exotic mushroom) and was totally satisfied with the raste and the portion size of the Ramen bowl.

The price is a bit on the expensive side, that's why I did not rate it as 5.

Food is generally good here. I would recommend you pair everything they give with the sauces they provide in the side. Everything was good except for the dim sums and the desert. The desert was supposed to cheese cake with Gelato not sponge cake with normal ice cream. Slightly on the pricey side.

The Bao's here are amazing. Must visit if you are in the look out for some scrumptious food with a lot of meat and vegetarian options.

Very tasty Asian food. Nice ambience for an outing with friends and family. There was no valet parking or a parking space. Had to drive around the small lanes to find a vacant spot and walk about 600 metres to the place.

There is no place in this place if you don't pre-book but the owner was kind enough to keep our contacts and called us when there was a space available.

As I was craving for some Asian food, I thought to visit this restaurant.

What I ordered:

️ Spicy Tofu and beetroot Bao
️ Kimchi baby potatoes
️ Wild Mushroom truffle oil Dimsum
️ Fatty Pho Ramen

I had to order a Bao here as this place is famous for it. We were looking to order the Bao with asparagus but it was not available at that moment. We went for the spicy tofu one, which turned out to be amazing. The bao was as soft and fluffy as a pillow. The filling was just right.

The Dimsums were no less, the filling was generous and flavourful. The outer layer was gentle enough to bite and wasn’t chewy. It was served with three dips. Loved the dips as well

The Kimchi baby potatoes were spicy and garlicky. If you like the garlic taste you will love it. The baby potatoes were tossed so well that none tasted bland.

Lastly, comes the Ramen for which I was so much excited but that was a disappointment. The broth was not so flavourful and it overall tasted bland. Black noodles were supposed to be used but they were not serving it that day.

The Ambience is quite okay, pretty dim and small.

Can definitely go again for the baos and dimsums here!

One of the best restaurants in bangalore to have Chinese cuisine and to have your mind relaxed, it has a very good menu price at the higher side, but worth every bite

After reading the reviews I was so excited to try their dishes what I got was a big disappointment. I believe consistency is key to attract lot of customers lack of which will not be good for the restaurant. I hope my experience was a one time thing and I had visited them on their bad day. But it will be awhile before I give them a second chance

I've never been able to fault this place in the many years since I've been eating here. The food is fantastic, the ambiance is quiet enough to have a conversation.

Excellent taste and varity. I would rate 4.5, but can't give it. They have got some unique items and all excel in quality and taste. The deserts menu can be improved. Slightly pricy.

Updating my review based on last two years of take away (during lockdown) and today's in person visit. With a red wine pitcher, two mocktails and good for five of us it costed 7.6K. Without drinks, it would have been down to 5K. Except the kalamari small plate ordered, the rest were as usual too good. We just mentioned that the kalamari was not good and could not consume half of it. We were surprised that it was off from the bill when it reached. They took care without even placing any such request, which showed their genuine interest in customer satisfaction. One of the value for money restaurant with exclusive Asian food in that street (apart from one more that is exclusive veg place in the same street).

Average restaurant for Asian food lovers, I think Indian food lovers may not love these foods available here because I didn't like some food. You have both veg and Non-veg food served here.

It's a small cozy place with around 11-12 tables. The service was fast. There is a waiting because of low table count. I liked the food.ordered a spicy salmon sushi and a raw mango and papaya salad. Also can try their sangarias. I tried the green apple basil one. Was good. Can definitely try this place:)

One of the best places to explore good quality thai curries, baos, dimsums and sushi. Never disappoint and have always been consistent with the quality of food!

Yummy Asian food and good portion sizes. We had baos, dimsum and ramen. Service staff were a bit distracted.

Pork belly in the menu, but random pork meat in food. I think Sushi rice was sona masuri, prawns in sushi was overcooked, salmon in sushi was not salmon. Chilly chicken was regular indochinese. Bao bun was the only original thing in this restaurant. Haven't tried all the dishes but not planning to.

The prices are reasonable and food was great. Definitely worth the money. The open baos, dimsum and ramen are a must try! The Japanese cheesecake is the winner hands down, absolutely delicious! The service is kind of slow so it is best to order all items in the beginning.

Colossal Disappointment - A pale shadow of its former self. Bad Food, Service even worse! Their best selling dishes like the Korean Fried Chicken and Wasabi Prawns have turned bland, tasteless and greasy. The beverage section has disappeared from the menu altogether. Not worth your money or your time. Plenty of other pan-asian restaurants in the vicinity to try out and enjoy. Do give this one a miss!

So, we went there to celebrate the fact that restaurants are open now and we could have a nice time.

The restaurant opened at 7pm. We reached at 7: 30. The service was to last till 9pm, due to covid restrictions. Discounting our travel time of 30 minutes, we still had a good one hour to enjoy our meal.

The moment we sat, the order was placed. No need to look at the menu, we already knew what we wanted, afterall we were excited about visiting one of our favourite restaurants.

It took them 20 minutes to bring out the sushi. 10 minutes later it's over and we were expecting our next item. This is when the wait staff decides to inform us that one of the dishes (lotus stems) we ordered was unavailable. 30 minutes after placing the order.

Nobody in the entirety of their restaurant management realised that one dish is not available, and we should inform the customer. Now, this is further troubling because they would have realised when they would have started making the dish. Which means, they started making the second dish, 30 minutes after the order is placed.

When were they expecting to serve it? After everybody leaves?

Then, we enquired about the third dish, mushroom ramen (and asked to replace the lotus stems with sushi). This too was not even close to ready.

The annoyance was building.

To add insult to injury, a party of 5, that came 20 minutes after us, was being served very well.

This may have been the last straw. We asked to leave at 8: 20. They informed us that the food is nearly ready. (Here's a secret: It was not. It was just a stalling tactic).

Then when we decided to finally give up and leave at 8: 30, we asked for the bill, and suddenly everything was ready. Since the distrust has already built up with them, I asked them to "bring it now". Which they did after another 5 minutes.

Then came the bill, with a 10% service charge for all three dishes (for what? Bringing one dish in one hour? Not bringing anything else? Not checking if a dish is available? Not paying equal/similar amount of attention to different PAYING customers?) AND packing charges.

The experience was bad, and the delay was just unnecessary. It's as if they have one chef/cook for the entire restaurant.

Never going there again.

Ambience is really good, service is okey okey, food is depending upon your taste.i dint like it much but it was a verity experience and a bit expensive for that range. Best time to vist is by 7-7: 30 so that u can Choose glass side

The place was full when we arrived and we had to ask them to join 2 tables for 2.

We had Ramen, 1 for each of us.
Exotic Mushroom, Veg Mixian, Spicy Chicken and Charred Beef. All the ramens tasted quite good and different. Everyone of us was satisfied with the taste.
It wasn't bloating, not too spicy and very comforting.

Wish the staff was attentive and quick. The ambience is a little dull. Also, the quantity was little less given the price.

Food is really great, little pricy for students. But it makes up with its taste.

The sushi is a must try in this place it's a flavour bomb, the bao served is also very soft and cooked accordingly, I would suggest you all to visit for a good Chinese treat.

It was a bad experience - cold food, very long wait time and taste wasn’t good. Please do not go by other reviews, check with someone who’s personally been there before you go.

Finally went to fatty bao after all it's hype. And my was I not disappointed. Throughly enjoyed the food and the dining experience here. The ambience is ccolourfu and quirky. We tried their open baos and the spicy ramen, with some of their wine cocktails. The service here is great and the cost for two is around Rs 1500/-. Their pan asian options are huge, and dining here is a must for all food lovers!

Well all they hype and all the ratings finally made me goto the Fatty Bao. Sorry but I was disappointed. Tried veg and non veg items. Mushroom bao was okay however chicken bao was waste. Noodles was the only dish which was worth mentioning. Veg curry was average. Dimsum were low in salt and so were chutney. There is renovation going on so may be that impacted its quality. Service was fast.
Stuffed mushroom was also okay. Not anything worth WOW. All were average. Not gonna visit again.

I have tasted mushroom ramen, asparagus tempora sushi, baby potatos, fried rice and lotus stem curry.
As it was my first time for sushi, ramen and curry, i loved it. I would love to visit it again. The flavours, the taste is so unique and new/refreshing.
Ambience was good with music. Service and presentation of the food was superb.

Right now the building is under construction so not a place to light up the mood but what it doesn't accomplish in ambiance, it accomplishes in food. If your looking for a break from western cuisine and try something Eastern you have to try this! Read the full review and decide. Try to order more from the starters. Main course is mostly curry and rice so you can replace it with ramen. Also the food is really expensive like 1000 per head (almost) so considering the place doesn't look good and the ac leaks (oh did I mention the ac leaks) it would be an OK place. But with casual friends it's a place you can enjoy. Vegetarian options are good though less and the food is going to be a little spicy and sour. It's very very different so prepare to leave some expensive food that you couldn't handle. But the quality is surely there, and the serive is good so if you ask about the food they will guide you and order of it songs good. Also you will notice the food ingredients are fresh and less tasty but more flavoufull. Tbh its a 3 star restaurant and kinda overrated but it has the potential to be a 5 Star and I like it due to the freshness of the food.

The First Stop Was A Widely-Acclaimed Pan Asian Gastro Bar That I'd Missed On My Last Visit, To My Dismay.

To Talk About These Carefully Curated Dishes Requires As Detailed A Train Of Thought As One Can Muster, And Here's Mine.

The Prawn Tempura Sushi Was Stellar On Its Own, With The Wild Flavours Of The Nori And Sticky Rice, Allowing The Batter-Coated Springy Prawn To Present It's Whole Light Flavour Package Well. The Sweet-Spicy Gari And the Pungent Wasabi Were Good Too, But Taken Entirely, This Dish Has Just About That Spark To Ignite My Palate, If Not Have A Bigger Impact Beyond That.

Coming Around The Beef And Jalapeno Dim Sums, These Fragrant Steamed Packets Enclosed A Thick Blend Of Finely Chopped Jalapeno And Beef Mince. Sour, Spicy And Deep In Being Meaty At Once. Served Alongside Are 3 Different Dressings, Of Which The Chilli Oil Combined Best As A Dip. Lovely.

Char Siu Bao, A Legendary Cantonese Dish Feted Across The World As A Prime Example Of Top BBQ-Asian Cooking. These Fluffy Baos Have A Mix Of Premium BBQ Pork (Imported), Scallion-Green Apple Kimchi (Highly Curious Way To Ferment Sour Green Apples And Zingy Spring Onions, A Korean Tradition), All Roasted In Nutty Sesame Oil. This Is An Understated Must Try, And My Favourite From This Visit.

Sakura Sakura, Named After Japans National Flower, The Cherry Blossom, This Is What Most People Conjure In Their Head When They Think 'Japan'. While The Mocktail Consisted Of Wholesome Fresh Cut Fruits In Grape Juice And A Sweet Passion Fruit Syrup, Was The Naming Thus Legit?

Jalapeno Daisy, This 'Daisy' Was No Pushover. It Being Spicy And Pungent To The Hilt Came As No Surprise With The Presence Of Jalapeno And The Oriental Cousin Of Ginger And Turmeric, Galangal. However The Orange Juice, Lime And Salted Rim Reined It In, Back To The Domain Of Conventional Mixology.

Fatty bao always has great food and great service! Their dim sums are my favourite followed by their sushi and baos. The ambience is lovely for a casual dinner, they even have a rooftop dining area which is lovely!

Located on the iconic 12th A Main road on first floor, this place serves amazing food. Their bao’s are juicy and soaked in the right flavours. From salad to main course the food was delicious

I've had the raw mango and papaya salad from a lot of places but this is one place that beats the rest hands down. It's so refreshing. And the bao is to die for.

Even if you are ordering in, they come neatly packed.

An incredible choice of place for an authentic Asian meal. The ambience is upbeat and peppy, with indoor seating on one level and rooftop on the other.
The food too most importantly is excellent, right from the dumplings to the desserts, and not to forget, their wonderful broth. Even the service was warm and attentive, so this is definitely a place I’ll be visiting again!

If you eat a bao here, you will never enjoy any bao else where!:) Cozy and crowded, so you will have to reserve your table. But anything for their food. The staff is friendly and can easily explain any asian food to the newbies. Try their ramens and bao, as they are simply wow!:)

My go to restaurant. There has been times when I visit this restaurant twice in the same week. The food is mind blowing and very affordable as well.
My personal favourite include Fried fish bao, Wasabi Prawn chips, Via Malaysia Ramen, edamame followed by The Fatty Hill. Do try them.
In addition, the vegetarian sushi and the closed bao’s are delicious as well!

This is the best Chinese restaurant I've been to. Been here 4 times. Love the service, the food, the ambience. The best place to be at if you love Chinese cuisine. Must try their Chir Mar Bao. Located in the prime location for restaurants.

I'm a pure vegetarian but still I love this place. It's the place where, I know, the food is going to be delicious each time I go. Whatever is ordered is delicious. My favs are the rainbow rolls, the caramelized tofu starter, veg fried rice.amongst others. A must go!

Overhyped restaurant. Food is average. Some starters like baos are good but other dishes very tasteless. Even chicken was not cooked properly. Half cooked and served, could smell raw chicken while eating their dishes. Service is friendly and ambience is vibrant.

Fatty bao is probably one of my favorite places in this city to have a wonderful and enjoyable meal in. The flavors in the food served here is truly something magical. It's an Asian cuisine which has dishes like bao, ramen and much more. The dish that I opt for everytime is the chisu ramen which consists of pork belly, bacon and egg along with the ramen. The broth in this dish is ABSOLUTELY amazing! This place is a must try for everyone. The sushi is great as well. Looking forward to going there for a meal soon. The prices aren't entirely expensive but it is not a very budget option either. The vibe of the restaurant is beautiful too!

Good pan Asian restaurant in the town. Good place to dine with family and friends. Upscale and contemporary place with variety of Asian foods to choose from the menu option. Ambience is good not an awesome. Menu item named after the restaurant name is very interesting item to try out at the place. It is like a variant of burger single bun folded and stuffed with veggies! We liked it. But the service is not up to the mark at all! In fact they forgot to serve the cocktail ordered well in the beginning even after remindier and lamely he brings it after we had finished eating, which was terrible! It lacks customer orientation fully forget customer centricity! They need to work a lot on this. However okay to try for Asian food! Hope they improve on customer orientation and take the experience for customer to next level who they have a potential!

Dimsums were delicate and tasty. So was everything I ate. Worth more than a visit.
Opt for the rooftop adds to the experience. If you don't know what to eat ask the waiters, their recommendation are good.

Note: They don't serve hard liquor and alcohol is restricted to wine and no smoking. Wine per glass is slightly expensive, which like most restaurants in this category.

The miso custard dessert is one the best I have had in Bangalore, the balance of the miso custard cutting through the sweetness of the brownie with chunky nutty walnut ice cream and a tuile to add the crunch element.

The dishes sometimes don't match up with the menu. The food is overall OK. The service can be slow.the Japanese cheesecake with cherry compote is a must try.

Really good food. The staff were very helpful and accomodating of my sister's kid that was causing quite a ruckus. Haven't seen anywhere else the staff doing their best to entertain a troublesome kid and allowing the family to have its first dinner outside in peace.

Great food all around, no matter what you order. The baos, gyozas, pho, ramen, and dimsums are all delectable, presented well, with great service. I don't live in Bangalore anymore, but this place is always one of my go-to spots for food when I visit.

This was a great place but after frequenting it, I would say things have dropped from what I used to go here for. An analogy would be similar to an exciting new soda drink. The drink is still great, just that the fizz is out a bit and I would not pay what they ask me for the drop in quality. However I conclude by saying, there is no other place like this in Bangalore. A must visit for Pan Asian lovers.

One of our favorite Asian food restaurants in Bangalore, the place offers excellent food in a quirky ambience. The baos are really good, as are many of the small plates. We've had better Ramen in other places, but definitely amongst the best value offerings we've had in India for Ramen.

Liked the pork ribs and ramen (outstanding). Bao was decent. Everything worth the money. But oyster and sushi are overpriced and doesn't fill tummy. It doesn't taste THAT great also to justify the price.

Fantastic Food and Friendly Service! It's a haven for couples, one of the best places I've been to for a date! The food is finger-licking good and the ambience is perfect for couples! The breadth of the menu is mind boggling! They have n enormous selection of non-vegetarian dishes to select from ranging from duck to sea-food of all categories, even snails! If you have a penchant for meat, the Fatty Bao is the right place to be! Definitely one of my top recommendations! Went there for our 2nd Anniversary Dinner!

Damn tasty! One of the best restaurants in Bangalore. Ambience and service is top class. I feel the price should be a little lesser though and hence 4 stars.

This was mine and my friends' favourite restaurant in the city, and we tried a lot! The food is all amazing. I recommend getting several dishes to share to try as much as possible.

Excellent food. The baos are excellent 9/10. The sushi and dimsums are good 7/10. The ramen noodles are excellent 9/10. The service is excellent 10/10. It's a bit pricy 7/10.

Make reservations or be prepared to wait for 45 minutes if you are lucky. We took the option of bar stool as that was the only seating available, but soon we got a table due to cancellation.

This is my second visit to The Fatty Bao, and it hasn’t disappointed me yet. We tried out the spicy chicken Ramen, teriyaki salmon, cream cheese & wasabi sushi and curried creamy crab meat dumplings. Wasn’t a big fan of the raw fish sushi, but the presentation of each of the dish was excellent. The ramen was very yum and spice level indianized. The best course of the meal which made was wanting more was the desserts. We thought of finishing it off with a Japanese cheesecake. It was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had. It was so light and fluffy and we just had to order another dessert. We went with miso custard. Though it didn’t top off the Japanese cheesecake, this had its own victory. The taste of miso, the warmth of the chocolate brownie, the smoothness of the walnut gelato and the crispiness of sesame crisp easily made this one of the most unique dessert I’ve ever had. With the taste buds wanting more, we bid our farewell to a wholesome and satisfactory dinner with the promise that we will be back to conquer the menu.

This is my first time experience in Sushi and Ramen. I always wanted to try these exquisite Japanese cuisine. I loved every bit of it. The ambience is amazing and I just loved every moment spent here.

I enjoyed the friendly service, especially how he suggested what to try. I am no good with chopsticks, yet he instructed me how to use it.

The food was amazing. Personally I feel that it was value for money experience. Looking forward to visit this place again.

Service is the most remarkable feature of this restaurant. The manager took special care of us, especially since my wife is pregnant. He assured us that there's no MSG in any dish even before we asked (we had this question in mind).

The starters were mind-blowing. We had Salmon Nigiri Sushi (one of the best we've had in Bangalore) and Pork Kohlrabi Dim Sum. We also had a Bao with duck. The duck was clearly not fresh and it made this dish unpleasant.

Main course was not impressive either. We had rice with red Thai duck curry and Tantanmen ramen. The duck spoiled the red curry and the curry flavours were not up to the mark either. The ramen was quite ordinary too. I had also ordered a drink named Tropical Cheer, but it didn't fit the description (didn't get any hints of lemongrass as written in the menu).

So what began as a very promising dinner ended up as ordinary on average. I am disappointed to give a 3 to a restaurant with amazing service and great Sushi, but when I consider our overall experience, it was indeed average.

Without a doubt, the best Baos in town! Drinks are decent and the desserts are awesome. Presentation is top notch and so is the taste. Fatty Bao has a great ambience that goes with the food. A couple of times, the person waiting on us hasn't lived up to their usual standards, but otherwise not much to complain about on that front. They may not wow you with their service, but they aren't bad either.

They offer valet parking. And unless you are early, you need to make reservations in advance. They do get crowded. While the price may be considered a tad steep, it is worth it.

Overall, you can be assured of a very good experience.

Last month we visited Fatty Bao for a second time and like our first visit we enjoyed the food thoroughly. Fatty Bao is located on Indiranagar 12th main in the same building where monkey bar is located. Prior reservation is definitely recommended. Service is quite good. The restaurant occupies two floors and the rooftop section is really bright and nice during the day time. Being a fine dine restaurant from Olive group the price is little on the higher side but with the quality and taste of the food they serve justifies the price. Below items I really loved from their menu in my last two visits:
Shaking beef – wok tossed beef with onions, peppers, bamboo shoots and fresh coriander in black bean sauce
Chasu and Fatty Pho from their Ramen collection. Both are exceptional in taste and flavor
Spicy salmon cream cheese cucumber uramaki
Beef & Jalapeno Gyoza (pan seared dimsums)
