I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Hidden Valley, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the serene atmosphere embraced me, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The resort's attention to detail was evident in every aspect of my stay. The staff was not only courteous but went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The rooms were tastefully decorated, offering a perfect blend of modern luxury and cozy ambiance.

One highlight was the culinary experience. The on-site restaurants boasted a diverse menu, each dish prepared with precision and using fresh, local ingredients. All the meals overlooking the breathtaking scenery were culinary delights.

We recently visited this place and had a very pleasant stay for 2 nights. Its a 30 acres property with coffee, rubber and pepper plantations. So if you are travelling for a day or two you can easily spend time going around it and there is no need to step out of the actual property. It has a small pond inside and we spent a nice afternoon just laying around it. We personally felt that plantations are not maintained properly and its turned into more of a jungle kind of environment, which actually does not make a difference for people visiting. Infact it adds a different kind of rawness and results in a small trekking kind of experience.

We opted for a family cottages as we were travelling with our pet. The rooms were very big and clean. They are very basic but nothing to complaint about. Bathrooms were cleans and had 24hrs hot water supply. Bedsheets/ quilts were all cleans and made the night sleep very comfortable. Our room was equipped with a small fridge. It had a TV but the DTH connection was not working and we were ok with that. The room had two table fans which we felt were not enough for March summer. Afternoon time felt very stuffy inside the rooms. Fitting a ceiling fan will definitely help.

Best part of the trip was food they served. All three meals had limited options but they were good. Especially their Non veg preparations were very good and had a distinct native tastes. Although Veg definitely had a scope for improvement and we felt that the vegetable choices could have been better during lunch/dinner serving. Since its homestay the food options are limited so in case if you need anything special make sure you let the caretaker, Mr Suraj know about it well in advance. He makes every efforts to make it available depending on availability. We requested for Mangalore buns for one of our evening snacks and those were one of the best that I have had in long time.

Staff is very helpful. The property Manager Mr Suraj and Arun were very helpful and made our stay comfortable. Special shoutout to their cook Raja. His cooking was excellent.

Overall its VFM homestay and you will not regret choosing it for the stay. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely look forward to visit it again.

I chanced upon this wonderful stay while looking for a pet-friendly accommodation, and I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised before! The Hidden Valley is gorgeous and beautifully maintained — the view from the main seating deck is lovely, and it’s an ideal place to curl up on an armchair with a book. The nightly bonfires are a great way to keep warm, and it’s great fun to watch their dogs, Jackie and Lucky, running around. The rooms are simple but very spacious, you can easily fit a whole family into one room. I spent most of my day outdoors so no major complaints with the rooms.

The Hidden Valley is an *excellent* option for a solo woman traveller, I felt extremely safe and comfortable. Probably one of my favourite aspects of this stay was the staff — Mr. Gautham and Mr. Raj are very courteous, attentive, respectful and incredibly kind. I had rescued a sick stray pup, and they did everything they could to make sure the puppy was comfortable and well taken care of:) So grateful to have met them. And Mr. Raj is a great cook, I’m usually a vegetarian but I made an exception for his delicious chicken curry.

While I’d love to give this stay a five star rating, I did have one major issue. I only eat one meal a day, and wasn’t given the option to opt out of paying for the remaining meals. It was a bit frustrating because I was the only guest there for 2 days out of the 5 days that I stayed there. While I understand that they probably have their own protocols, I would’ve hoped for a bit more flexibility on meal pricing as I had to force myself to eat more than I wanted to, just to avoid wasting my money.

Excellent service and tasty food. The place is very calm and serene. Only minus point is the access road, but it is only a short stretch.

Set in a 30 acre estate, this resort is perfect for people wanting to get away from the clamorous city life.

This pet-friendly resort is perfect for a family vacation. We had visited this resort along with our pet - a Golden Retriever - and were welcomed by their very friendly dogs (two) and a cat - besides Alan and the care-taker Gowtham).

Boating in their lake and going for walks in their estate were extremely relaxing. Good food added to the experience. We would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the very affable and helpful care-taker Gowtham.

If it's not too difficult, the owners may kindly consider adding a few more outdoor activities for kids.

Place is awesome. Caretaker Gowtham is very friendly and supportive. Food is also very good for the price. If you are looking just to chill out, one of best places near Chikmagalur for sure.

Bit of approach road is not good.

Positive- Property and planning is perfect. Gautham is a star and will always be ready to help. All the facilities like a refrigirator, oven /OTG and a toaster is available and can use.
Rooms are big and well maintained. Our room was with double bed and a upper deck with extra 3 beds so total 5 adult capacity.
Improvements- Maintainance is below average. Beer cans in camp fire area, old dirty never cleaned furnitures. Broken taps, open electrical wiring with sensors. Road is terrible and not even good to walk. People come to relax and not think about a puncher at a remote place for no reason. So called "Home Food" is good and simple, but always felt bloating. Home food should be like home and not hotel food with -.
Overall excellent property and a relaxed vibe, a true hidden valley but need urgent renovation/maintainance. 100% safe and worth the money.

Beautiful place with a first class hospitality. Place is well maintained and very green amidst the forest. They have their coffee plantation and black pepper. Gautham was the caretaker there and did the best. Good weekend getaway.

Visited with family and pet dog Teddy, stay is away from crowd and peaceful stay. Has a small exciting off road to reach place.

Visited it last weekend with my office colleagues. The place is a small cozy homestay but doesnt feel small given the pond with boating facilities and nice big area for the bonefire. Cottages are comfortable. Food was something we made us look forward to the next meal. Special shout out to the our host and manager Mr Gowtham. He was really great on hospitality and always willing to help with whatever we requested for. The pets Jacky and Lucky also add to the charm of the place. A point to note for any one who reads this review. Try to reach the place before it gets dark as its tucked inside the plantation and with mud road which might pose a bit of challenge for hatchbacks in dark. Otherwise during day it shouldnt be an issue at all.

Photos can be deceptive. The approach road to the place is really pathetic. Full of small stones and untarred road. Once we entered the place, was quite disappointed at the place. It needed an upgrade. It still stuck with old furniture, bathrooms.none of which looked like a 4* rating homestay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was decent. But the place wasn't worth the 4* rating provided. So, checked out one day early then what was booked. Obviously the home stay owner didn't refund the 1 day. This season leeches are quite a lot there, outside the property. Thats something you need to carry protection for. The badminton racquest and shuttle were as if for kids play. Overall, nothing great to write about this home stay.

Beautiful calm place, excellent hospitality, non spicy - kid friendly meals, pet friendly. Special mention about the care taker Gowtham, he was always smiling and enthusiastic, catering to all the needs of the guest. Would recommend to anyone who needs a break from the hustle bustle of city life.

Overall location is cool and cozy. Rooms are also well maintained but not up to the mark. When it comes to food it is little disappointing, very less variety for the amount paid and taste is also kind of below average. Needs lot of improvement. Hospitality is good.

The Hidden Valley is truly a beautiful hidden place on the outskirts of Chikmagalur.

Pros:
1. Beautiful Homestay
2. Service is too good. People are friendly, approachable and very helpful especially Noushad and Suraj
3. Pet friendly place and they also help with pet food. They also have a very friendly dog Lucky, rabbits, ducks and hens on the property which gives pets and kids a very connected and enjoyable feeling. My pet really enjoyed this stay.
4. The Homestay includes amenities at no additional cost like boating, plantation tour, indoor and outdoor games, tree house, relaxing on swings, bonfire and barbecue (though these two could not be arranged as it was raining at night) unlike other Homestay who usually charge additionally for same.
5. Food quality was very good.
6. Water taste is good and there is no wastage.
7. Owner of the place Mr. Henry is very accommodating and helpful. He helped take special request for celebrating my husbands birthday.

Cons:
1. Approach road is kaccha (non-tar/mud) road which was quite marshy due to the rains.
2. Location is suitable if you wish to stay in resort and completely unwind but it is far off from sightseeing points.

This place is heaven on the Earth. We loved our stay. Specially my kid, loved boating, fishing and animals around like goose, dogs, rabbit etc. They have games like badminton, caroom, ludo, snakes and ladders, cricket.you don't feel boring at all. The location is awesome. Coming to food it was really a perfect south Indian food, served hot and on neatly arranged table. I enjoyed food, though not very suitable for north Indian who love spicy food and gravies. They served sweet afternoon as well as night which was very tasty. A very pleasant and very good experience. Must visit place.

We've been going to the Hidden Valley Homestay for 10 years every Diwali with our dog. He's afraid of crackers and this place is the perfect retreat to avoid them. The staff are amazingly helpful and the food is superb. They cater to your taste and needs. It's a lovely getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Do visit this place if you want peace and tranquility.

Well maintained large rooms, the one we had was 5bed with upper berth like thing.
They have a small pond ducks and rabbits on the property. The last mile to the place is not a proper road.
Food was quite good and generous (buffet) and they customise if required.
Dont miss the drive to devaramane viewpoint its fantastic.
Nearest town is Mudigere.

It's a gem of place. It's a home stay with serene, lush green surrounding. It has its own small lake/pond where you can do boating or swimming. My kids enjoyed this place.

I had one of best family outings at the hidden valley. Navadeep and his team are very accommodative. You will always see smiling faces.

Nice place to stay within a coffee plantation amidst the tranquillity of nature with yummy food and great hospitality. The in-charge Navdeep has excellent knowledge on local site seeing and his tips made the trip great. During the plantation tour his explanation on varieties of coffee and the process was superb. We stayed for 2 nights in mid-March when the temperature was soaring to 36deg C in daytime. But still this place was comfortable even without AC. Hot water available 24x7.

It's truly a hidden valley, but a beautiful place for a weekend getaway. There are cottages as well as single rooms, there are a total of 8 rooms but you can accommodate 30 people at a time as one room/cottage has a single bed, a double bed and a bunk bed. It has a pond of it's own with boating, a bird viewing point, library and boards games as well as outdoor games. It has pet animals like hens, ducks, dogs and cute little rabbits. It also have a coffee estate where you can take a walk.

Amazing place. Really a hidden treasure.
The last mile road is a bit bumpy and unpaved but very very motorable. Ample parking is available.
A lot of variety of accommodation is available to choose from. Rooms are very spacious and very well maintained.
The ambience is surreal.
They have a plantation walk.
The food is simply awesome, they apparently use plantation produce to cook.

This is a beautiful place to stay, not very sophisticated, a bit rustic but if you like staying away from crowd, this is the place. It is a kind of difficult to reach the place, also takes a little of off reading!

But has the best crew to serve you anything at any point of time, friendly dog who accompanies you religiously during your morning walks, hens and chicks for company, rabbits that make merry. Overall it's a place for the kids to enjoy while you sip on some ginger tea!
