The Kanive

We had an amazing stay at Kanive. True to its name, it is located in a valley. Staying in Kanive is a must, if you are looking for experiences and spending time with nature and your loved ones (and not necessarily luxury accommodation)

Major experiences that seated us:
1. Private waterfall with no interruptions and very manageable.
2. Mind blowing view point just a few steps away from the rooms.
3. Simple trek to a nearby place which is a mini adventure. Doable even if you are with kids.
4. Arrangement done for camp fire with separate tables for each family with starters was very special.

The accomodation was good but needs some painting and sprucing up but I learn that on the cards.

Request to the owner: Please do not hand over plastic water bottles for guests. I understand disposal of garbage is a challenge in thra area. (We took back as many Bottles as possible so that we can dispose it off in the city)

Thanks to the manager Shafi whi made us feel welcome and ensured we were comfortable always.

The food served was simple and great.

Very nice place to stay view was awesome location is great, road is not that bad to reach they have a private falls which u might need to walk a bit they can also arrange for a jeep

Amazing place, scenery and location. The management goes over and above to make sure you have a good time. Campfire is a must. Its a network dead zone so please come prepared.

Food and hospitality is very good. The water falls was refreshing and the view point is amazing. Not much time pass within premises so better plan to go out to nearby by places if you are staying more than a day. Hornadu, kaleswara, hanging bridge and samse ganapathy.nearby places

Superb experience, had great time there. They have private waterfalls and a viewpoint, Which is very relaxing. Very friendly and hospitable staff, especially Mr Shaffi who helped us throughout. Mr Manjunath and Mr Shivu were supportive too. The food was authentic malnad style type, which added joy to our overall experience. If going in with family for some quality time, I would recommend it for weekdays as weekends would be crowded. I would highly recommend this place for beautiful experience.

Property is placed right next to a mountain which you can trek to, incredible views

In Rainy seasons be prepared to encounter a lot of leeches

Resort was good. They have falls and viewpoint. No network coverage or wifi available. Food was good with typical malenadu style.

Hospitality is highly appreciable.they didn't treat us like a guest but as a family.placed in a very good location and their property of mud pool and mini falls is top notch. Enjoyed a lot under tent in the top of mountain. A definite place to visit.

Worth for pricing, Good food and Hospitable staff, away from crowd in natures lap. Worth to spend time with a bunch of like minded people, nature lovers.

Excellent place and great people. The staff are so cooperative and nice They are flexible to accommodate your needs. The view, waterfall, fog etc were amazing. Planning to visit once again soon

This place is very good for 1 or 2 days. They provide very homely n good food.the hill view point, mud bath, water fall, small trek was really good and is very near to the resort.night campfire with music was good.the staff were really good and very helpful.the hospitality was really great.

Resort has both positive and negative aspects. Let me first tell you about positive. Hotel is situated near to very good view point. People working there are very generous and kind very supportive. They try best to help guest.

Coming to Negative. Rooms are not hygiene, cots and mattresses are very old. No proper mirror, no hanger to hang clothes, hot water is very restricted, you have to go and ask staff to provide hot water and they do not give more than 1 bucket of water.
We stayed here for 3 days, they charged 2500 per head including food per person. The room was 3 cot size room, they made it to 4 cot just to accommodate more ppl. I mean per day per room for 4 ppl is 10000. I felt it's expensive bcs many basic needs are lacking.mattress bedsheets bedspreads smells badly. Out of 3 days we were not there for 1.5 days to have food. Even then they charged 700 for our driver. One Thing very disappointing is hot water. They just give water 1 bucket and in their specific time after breakfast. You have to hold on your programme till we get hot water.
Cooks try to provide best food and service but they are unable to give quality.

In stepout group. We went to Cofee guddaa on 4th day. This is best and worth for money. I can say it's 10 times better than Kanive.

Visited this place with 18 members of the family and what a stay it was. Amazing location, Great views and great staff. The sunrise and the sunset views were the best I have seen till now. The Mud bath pond and the private waterfalls was a welcome addition. The kids had a blast. The hospitality was exceptional. Very courteous staff. Highly recommended.

Last week we had visited this place with my friends group. Definitely the place is very nice and worth the money.
Pros -
* Good for Friends, Family and Kids
* The best viewpoint scenery you can get right outside the resort.
* Homely and very tasty food (Typical south Indian style)
* The people in Kanive are very friendly especially the attitude of the manager is VERY GOOD
and Professional.
* Charges are minimal.
* Mud bath, Waterfalls, Campfire and 3km Hill point view (They provide 4X4 with extra charge, so u don have to trek) is awesome.
Cons -
* If you expect north indian food, might be lil disappointed.
* No nearby hotels if u want something extra
Overall Its a Nice place to hangout with Friends and Family.
