4 of my family went to this restaurant. Excellent breakfast on Sunday morning. Being vegetarian, the spread was good. All items were tasty. Loved millet (dhalia) khichadi Will visit again
We went for the Durga puja special Novotel Bengali Buffet along with our office colleagues. First things first - 1. Cost per person is 1999/- +tax 2. The rate is flat with no veg only option (mostly in Kolkata it may not matter, but in Bengaluru, it might be quite an overspend for vegetarians).
The staff were very courteous and friendly. Service was super quick for the items from the live counter (like fish fry, Luchi and Kochuri, Fuchka, jhal muri, rolls). They were helping some of my colleagues who are not Bengali to explain and decide on the items.
The food quality is very good in itself and one cannot complain anything about it. The spread was huge with a wide variety of starters featuring Mach bhaja (fried fish- catla, Rohu and Parshe), Panch bhaja (6 types- brinjal, Padwal, bitter gourd, potato and so on). There were further more starters from the bengali basket for both veg and non vegetarian like egg roll, paneer roll, chicken rolls, aloo badamer chop, beguni and so on.
In the main course, there was the Bengali favourite Luchi and Alur dom, chicken dak bungalow, mutton kosha, parshe macher jhol, chittol macher muthya, paneer, bengali 5 veg mixed veggie (Panch meshali tarkari), platter of salads, moong dal, white rice, pulao, chicken Biriyani and a host of Chinese items for both veg and nonveg (Chinese items from kolkata are quite a hype in West Bengal). Deserts were full of bengali items like mishti doi, baked rosogolla, ledikini, chanar jalebi and many more.
Few cons to me - 1.the sweets were bit more sweet for all of us. 2. The menu changes everyday. So one may not be sure on what would be the menu on that day 3. In an authentic bengali buffet, I would expect the below items - cholar dal, prawn malaikari or shorshe, bhapa fish (bhetki), authentic bengali chicken and mutton biriyani with aloo and egg, an item on Hilsa fish (although it was available as add on with an extra payment of 500/-). So, this was bit of a miss for us.
Overall it was a good experience with few misses for us, but would have expected a bit more authentic Bengali food.
1. Taste wise nothing special to offer, tastes same like local street food. 2. Don’t pay attention while taking orders 3. Limited variety 4. Serving cold food during peak dinner and lunch timings 5. Lack of passion towards the work can be seen clearly
We had a buffet lunch with friends during the Bengali Food Festival. It kind of was beyond our expectation. The spread as well as the taste of food was awesome.
I went with my wife for dinner and because of the food we ate I had an upset stomach and she started feeling pukish. Food - not good at all. Though ambience and service was nice!
Went there for a business meeting and turned out to be utter disappointment for us. We asked for wines, gave four different choices and none available. Then asked for 2 different choices of single malt, one not available and the other one is left with only 1/4th bottle. Why do you keep all these in menu when you don’t have it in stock!
Food spread was ok, nothing to be mentioned about.
Went for a get-together with old friends whom I was meeting after 20 years. Couldn’t have any conversation as we had to shout at the top of our voice to talk to anyone directly across the table. Had to finish our food fast and leave to the lounge area (luckily Novotel had one) to actually catch up and talk. The buffet was okay. No complains. Not extraordinary as the price might make you think.
Ambience is good. Valet parking is available. Staffs are kind and helpful. Food quality is great. There will be variety of foods available. Multiple options for Salad, startars are also good which was fish finger, chicken. Veg starters are also very good. Main course has also multiple options. Deserts are great. The darkest Mojito is a must try. I have enjoyed eating here. It serves one of the best buffet in Bangalore. Please visit and share your thoughts.
A grand experience. Really impressed by the hospitality, the personalization, the humongous spread. It was an amazing experience for us. Felt like a gathering of known people, such was the courteousness of the staff. Everyone in Bengali attire.
Nice ambience and a good spread. But most of the items were cold and it didn't look like there was anyone taking care of the live counters. All the live counters were empty and we had to keep looking for someone who can help. The staff helped us with our orders when we approached them nevertheless. Courteous and Helpful Staff. Food was good, Grilled chicken, Schezwan fish and Pepper chicken was really yummy! Desserts had lot of varieties as well. However we did find a hair in one of the dessert, which was immediately replaced though. One turn off was that the staff didn't inform us about the end time and everything was being packed off while we were still eating. Basic courtesy to let your customers know that the buffet time is over so that they can pick up what they need one last time! The staff did get us the desserts later when we complained about it. Overall a good place for lunch but maybe try going early.

Also, Priyanka and everyone else in the team, an amazing group of staff who really put their best foot forward to make sure the guests are having a good time.
It's an overall good restaurant with many varieties of dishes. Feedback to management - please have different sections for veg and non-veg dishes. Nothing but I didn't feel like eating once I saw a full fish is kept along with vegetarian dishes! It was my experience - not that everyone may feel the same way.
Yesterday we have visited Novotel, The Square at ORR to experience "poila bhaisakh mahabhoj" bengali food festival. It was a very disappointing experience. All the food items are tasteless starting from starters to main courses to desserts; looks like a non-bengali chef who doesnt have any idea about bengali food recipes did some experiments which are absolute disaster! I didnt expect such disappinting services from Novotel. Only buffet cost was at per of Novotel standard!
We had a good time at lunch, here in The Square. They are celebrating Bengali new year 1430 and arranged for Bengali food festival from 15th to 23rd April '23. So most of the spread were Bengali food. Preparation of most of the items were good, special mention to be polao, cholar daal (chana daal), mochar ghonto (banana flower), kosha mangso (mutton kosha). In starter mutton kabab, chingri (prawn) pakora were also good. They had a live counter for different fishes like pabda, bhetki (seabass), prawn etc fry. Also a live counter for different veggies fried in Bengali style. Dessert options were huge, rasogolla, pantua (similar to gulab jamoon), chamcham, baked boondi were absolute delight. So the spread was very good and selection of items also appropriate for the occasion. They had some desi Chinese and continental items too.
The place itself is decently specious and arranement of servings were also good, no where it was getting over crowded even though the venu was completely full.
This was special occation so the food preparation were specific to Bengal. However I am sure their regular buffet preparation also would be up to the mark; hope to visit again for that.
Not so great Experience. We went there for Christmas dinner. The food was ok for this reasonable price with very less variety of item for Western cuisine Very bad pathetic am ambience, they chef on grill counter was buring some spices on hot oil which made the whole restaurant smoked and all the guest were sneezing continuously, and coughing because of exhaust. Nobody cared about that from the restaurant. This wasn't expected from the Novotel. Proper exhaust of smoke should be part of basic hygiene. Overall the experience was ok ok.
Had Dinner Buffet. Decent spread. Courteous staff. Tasty food. Only one complaint, So many items of Sweets but Sugarfree sweet is missing. Now more people are diabetic, Atleast one sweet item luke Halwa Or kheer Or custard sugarfree so that we can enjoy. Visited on 23 Nov again. No sugarfree sweet as promised by Mr Johri GM.
Quite enjoy the experience, privacy in a public setting, theatre of coffee making and approach to the concept overall here. Great place for business meetings/interviews.
Food quality was horrendous. Dumplings had uncooked white flour. Mahi mahi carvings were extremely salty. Cheese balls were bad. Not venturing there again.
Visited The Square. Food is decent in Buffet. Nothing great. Non-Veg option in starter very limited. Non-Veg in the Main menu limited- no mutton. Decent varieties in desserts. Staff is courteous. Just one of those restaurants.
The buffet at the Square is really worth every penny. Food and the ambience was really good. Amit Viswas and Amal really helped us have a great time there. Thanks Team!
Had a wonderful Onam sadhya @ Square Novotel. Chef Adithya & Mahesh has done a wonderful job in preparing authentic kerala Sadya. Service by Kiran Manan & Durga was great.
I have had a great time interacting with Manan. The entire hotel experience hasn't been a great one, but knowing that Manan is out there to help has always calmed me down. Always on his toes, Manan is great in providing all services and is an extremely helpful person for any query you have regarding meals, foods or otherwise. The one keep that made me feel okay at all times was just the sheer fact that I can walk up to him and my queries would be solved:)
Good Hospitality and nice behavior by all staff. All done on time. Also special thanks to Nihar Enjoyed the Breakfast and Dinner. Verity is also good. Food is available till the closer time and staff advice to get the Breakfast in the room if someone is not coming.
Experience was really amazing @ The Square ORR. Ajju was really cordial and amazing in his service. Chicken Biryani was yummy. Thank you for complimentary Sangria and Blueberry pastry. Both were my close favourite. Thank you again for making my Sunday peaceful
Pathetic, you cannot connect to the restaurant Square, the reception will transfer but no one will respond from the extension where the reception transfers the line. Maybe they have too many customers hence do not care
Amazing restaurant with great service and food. Dhanush and Sagar where amazing with there recommendation of food and beverage. Thanks to them for there amazing hospitality.
I got a chance to have a dine at Novotel, i m happy with the service, the guys are very active and their response were great, want to recognize Amit and Jacob!
Awesome experience, went for a Sunday brunch with my close ones, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The spread, choice of food is very well curated. The ambience is great and so is staff courteous behaviour, special mention goes for Dhanush, who managed our reservation, personal attention to core.
A very nice restaurant with great cuisine. Mr. Siddharth was very obliging and accommodating given all the pandemic related restrictions. Kudos to him. Awesome ambience.
I was told the buffet timings are till 3: 30 pm, both by the front desk and the restaurant. At 3 pm they started pushing me take the food as the closure time suddenly became 30 minutes prior. I literally had to run around to get support during my dining as there were hardly any staff. There were very limited options. The food taste was good. Ambience us good though the table 43 I sat was wobbly. The last time I visited was the open roof restaurant which is not operational right now. Then the food was really awesome. This time the food was nowhere near as good.
We went for an unplanned lunch to The Square today. We had requested the Chef Mr Abhijit to prepare a chicken butter masala and prawn malaikari along with peas pulao and butter garlic nun. Believe me the taste of all the items was top class and in particular the chicken butter masala was the yummiest. Thanks very much
Very very bad experience, by seeing the reviews and photos we visited the hotel yesterday for lunch.no fruits, no briyani, just full of potato.no one to guide, I paid 1500/ person but not even worth for 300
Buffet dinner is having normal spread. Not much variety, but the dishes are tasty. No beverage (tea/coffee) nor juice available as a part of the buffet. Only normal or max hot water is available
A massive 5 star for the exceptional service by Mr. Kapinder Joshi (KP). Was the there for breakfast along with my mother and later joined by my father and yes the buffet spread despite for covid was amazing and this guy was TRUE TO HIS WORK ETHICS. High respects and certainly will come by for dinner just for this guy. Hatss of young fella.u do need a promotion or atleast a good recognition. Your employer is lucky to have you. Good luck!
Went for Dinner on Saturday. We wanted to have oriental cuisine and we checked menus of few restaurant around Belendur and found menu interesting. On receiving Menu card, we were disappointment as the menu was reduced inn account of on-going Covid situation. But to our delight staff was co-operative and helped us to order what we came for. Special mention of our Hostesss Durgeshwari. She made us feel at home and also offered us to taste salad from Buffet menu. Shout out to Pawan too who took care of our order and needs. Coming to food it was fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed both Thai green curry and Tofu in black bean sauce. We are happy customer and visit back soon
I don't normally eat breakfast, but the buffet breakfast at The Square is just too good to pass up! There is a huge variety, truly something for everyone, from Indian food (which is not my cup of tea) to continental eggs to order, cheeses, breads & pastries, fruit, yogurts, cereal, quiches, pancakes.and I personally recommend the Belgian waffle! On top of the great food, the service is also excellent, especially KP who ordered my fresh orange juice as soon as he saw me walk in or even when he saw my colleague if he arrived before me, and Durga who put a rush on my eggs order when I mentioned I was in a hurry. Of course all staff will greet you with a smile and do their very best so you can enjoy a great breakfast!

The square restaurant was very amazing and the service was also very good and talking about food it was also very tasty.and not forgetting about environment it was very cool and the staffs were also very friendly. It was very good 2 spend time there 2 visit wid soon again my friends
Very good hotel with good staff and tasty food.worth visiting with family and friends. Live kitchen in the restaurant looks very good. KP and Mahesh were totally great and made sure that everything is fine. Incharge of the restaurant Varun also helped us with our special request of the food which we wanted with the help of the chef Valli.excellent service and great food.

It was a very good experience while dinning in square. Lot of options in buffet and very tasty food. Even the staff is KP and prabhat are very friendly and give very good service.

We came to square for dinner along with friends for dinner. The buffet is remarkable compared to other. Even the service handler subom and KP were very good. Chef Gaurav is very good and prepared food as per our taste.
This was a good experience and the eating option is also very good. Staff is excellent because of their great attitude and friendliness. Good option of food available in buffet. They also have options of power lunch which was explained in a good way by KP and Durga.
