Good service. Good staff. Good good. Things were nice and view from rooms are the best. We had to see rain when we were here. Oh wow. It brought all those perfect vibe to be here. Travel is bit tough here.

Beautiful scenery and property. You can't stroll when it gets dark as it is actually inside the jungle.

We chose Tamara for a leisure and a relaxed getaway with a couple of our friends and Tamara was the right choice. It's perched on a good elevation and is nestled within coffee estates. The drive was amazingly exciting, hospitality was top notch, service was great and food - Super flavourful. The view from rooms is a die-for: Each room has its little balcony overlooking the lush green trees and varied bio diversity. We stayed here in October, little notorious for its leeches
Please be wary of these and cover up yourself properly. Ensure to cover each and every activity in the property.
I would recommend a minimum 3 nights stay, to have a complete social detox and blend with the nature.

While they call themselves a luxury resort and while their property is beautiful, the service is way below a 3 star facility. We had booked 2N and 3D in their premium cottages for the dussehra long weekend. We were made to sleep on torn sheets, torn pillow covers. We had to call the reception and keep asking for every small thing.on their website they show a lounge chair and 2 sofa chairs on the deck of every cottage. But they don't provide you with sofa cushions. That's the kind of luxury you experience. Their staff might just ring your cottage bell during wee hours in the night and announce fresh filter coffee. Well! As far as the food is concerned.be ready to play a game of lottery. It could be great and it could be extremely chewy and awful. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend, you might as well stay at home and netflix and chill rather than paying through your nose and then getting awful service.

Beautiful place full of natural beauty, great food, very helpful staff. Stay is comfortable however is far off from the city and key attractions.

Excellent views from the rooms. A hidden paradise from outside world. Reception team could do better in attention to detail and food variety could be added overall a nice experience

Greetings has to be improve. The roads are very small, so it's better to go slow to Resort and it's better to book 3 times food as Resort is in interior place. I Enjoyed the songs sung by a singer with guitar during dinner and he comes only 2 days in a week

1) Very average food. You might just want to eat it out of hunger and never out of excitement of it tasting good
2) Road to reach the place can be a bit challenging but that is understandable and expected due to the location itself
3) Service can get slower due to wait time for buggies

There is nothing like Tamara. The rooms are luxurious with an amazing view. The property is huge, you can go for a short trek in the morning, go on a evening stroll and relax at the picnic spot. If you are a foodie, you won't be disappointed. They serve delicious authentic food.

The best place to spend a Holiday. The nature and greenary is quite relaxing. There are various outdoor activities like trekking, badminton, basketball, etc to spend the day. Wide range of food items were also available to satisfy individual's taste buds. The hospitality was quite awesome. Definitely a place to visit atleast once in a lifetime.

Excellent in ambience, maintenance, luxury, comforts, tasty food, courteous staff, customised food.once if we visit, we carry the sweet memories for long long time and it tempts us to visit frequently. EXCELLENT.

They are mostly charging you for the location, it is really excellent. Rooms are spacious and good but not like the rates they are taking. Food is also avg. Even though you pay this much you mini fridge is vacant, they dont give anything lol. If you wqnt to enjoy location and dont care mich about the rooms and food then must go, or else five it another thought.

I want to give a big shout out to these staffs who made our stay very memorable Sonam, ajay, amandeep, santhosh. They made sure to go out of way to feel the comfort and the royalty of the property. End of August is still monsoon season so we were expecting rain. However the beautiful superior luxury cottages are so beautifully set up with a view point that every moment was amazing

My wife and I wanted out of our stressful work schedules for a little bit and albeit a bit tentative initially - owing to the variety of resort options available in Coorg - we went ahead with Tamara. After a week's stay at this magical acreage, we are more than pleased we chose Tamara as our habitat for a temporary escape.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the front office with a cup of jaggery tea - you know what they say about first impressions? Tamara was spot on with this. We were greeted by Anand, a manager at the resort, who ensured that our check-in experience was relaxed. He took us to lunch and ensured we were in good hands at the Falls - the restaurant at Tamara. He gladly accepted my request for a room with a view and checked us into a room at the highest possible altitude while listing the pros and cons of the different cottages. The room WiFi worried me a bit on day 1 especially since I had an interview the very next day. Anand was quick to address this issue and shout out to the IT Manager, Madhu Kiran, who saved the day for me by fixing the internet issue plus also setting me up with a plan B.

The F&B is great at Tamara - one of the highlights of our stay. The service was great - both in room and at the restaurant. Shout out to Shuchitha for always greeting us with a warm smile whenever we visited the restaurant, regardless of how busy she was. The buffet was great (all three meals) with ample options available for starters, entree, and desserts. What’s really commendable is how they were happy to go beyond the restaurant menu and cook the local delicacies for us, upon request. We have our amazing restaurant manager, Prince, to thank for our incredible restaurant experience. Prince was always willing to go the distance to make our stay the best imaginable. On our last night during the stay, my wife wasn’t feeling hungry and didn’t each much at the buffet. Prince was very generous in that he sent food to our room shortly after we got back. We appreciated and felt this was a very kind gesture.

Prince and Anand became more like friends to us than employees and we hope to see them again in our future visit to Tamara.

The spa service was great. I’d highly recommend meeting Dr. Sunitha if you ever get a chance. She’s one of the kindest and most positive people I’ve ever met. We had an amazing conversation, discussed managing stress at work and I came out of her office feeling accomplished with a solid plan of attack. Although unexpected, meeting her was the real cherry on top of the cake for us.

Suggestions:
Room - Go for rooms at higher altitudes for better view of the valley
Food - Try the local pork dishes and/or bamboo shoot curry
Walk when there’s light and when you have a chance - avoid taking the buggy
Drive - Be cautious of the narrow roads leading up to the resort (~4 kms)
Try (and buy) the coffee

We felt that our stay was a bit too short. Since we were working most of the week, we could not make the most of the myriad of experiences available, but we certainly hope to return soon. If you're looking for a very different and relaxed kind of Coorg experience, look no further than Tamara.

Well what to say about this property, I would term it as “Gem of Coorg”. Located on hills, property strikes a perfect balance between nature & modern amenities. Rooms are equipped with all modern amenities with focus on “No plastic”. Though all rooms are facing same direction at different height, Room no. 201 to 206 has a clear breathtaking view of valley. Would personally recommend to book a full board meal (BF+Lunch+Dinner).

Taste and Hygiene will never disappoint you here. Restaurant staff is extremely friendly and thats the most important aspect at The Tamara Coorg. Special thanks to all lovely ️people over here. Mr. Naveen and his team (Price, Amandeep, Ajay, Bharat, Bidappa, Santosh and new interns - i am learning) ensured that all guests got a 5 experience of food. Do ask for some local cuisine in case if not available in buffet. Breakfast is amazing and i must say i had the best idli of my life at The Tamara Coorg. Lunch and Dinner was also delicious with wide spread.

Got to experience one of the best house keeping practices. Buggy drivers are also very friendly. Do try the ayurvedic and signature spa experience at this property. Mr. Joji at Spa will surely assist you for perfect selection of right treatment.

Also Blossom to Brewing Coffee experience was very informative (takes places at 5: 00pm daily)

Would definitely like to come again to experience this wonderful hospitality. Overall I would rate 5 for this property and lovely people over here.

Wonderful place, the experience makes you one with nature. The entire staff are courteous and always friendly. Manjunath in the falls restaurant went out of his way to make my birthday dinner special and my family and I had a excellent time. The coffee trail was so interesting and so detailed it was a learning experience. A awesome place for a quiet holiday to get in touch with nature.

Amazing experience staying in the middle of greenery. Room ambience is so relaxing and gives a real mind refreshment from busy work and life. Its good to notice their programs beforehand, we might miss it. Also better to go for a package with all meals, food is expensive since its a five star hotel.

What a beautiful hotel which is truly luxurious! Starting with the staff, they are very friendly, eager to help, constantly seeking feedback, each member of the staff is so well behaved and friendly! We were amazed! The food is out of the world, it’s finger licking good. The ambience of the hotel, in the middle of coffee plantation with so many water falls within the property and the best fact is that you enjoy utmost privacy in your rooms facing the lush green mountains! I loved the chess sets in the rooms and binoculars, that is so thoughtful. The plantation tour and the tour guide were great; the singer who plays live guitar and takes dedications from the guests is great; the bar tender Nikhil is amazing, I can go on and on. We were there for a short stay of three days but made so many memories! Thanks to team The Tamara for giving us such a fabulous experience.

Nice place with 1) Scenic view and full of natures wonders (trees, fruits, birds of many varieties) 2) Nice food 3) Freindly and helpful staff (Mr. Santosh, Mr. Prince and their team at the food area were very warm and always proactively helping)

One must try the treks (short and long treks) to really enjoy the trip. I really enjoyed the short trek with the wonderful guide Mr. Madhusudhan, he was warm, very freindly, full of positive energy and also really informative

Cofee plantation walk was also awesome

The last 4 km to the resort is very steep, full of hair pin bends and very narrow road and the parking is also not that great (very steep, tough for cars to park in and park out)

Swimming pool is not operational currently

Sports area also not that great

Tamara gave us a 5 star plus experience. The property is all about being one with nature and if you and your family seek solitude and quality time, this is your destination. Before we checked in we received multiple calls from the staff to ensure our safe arrival. The restaurant is one of the best spots in the property, with the views of the plantations and waterfall, variety of delicious food and above all the best staff who gave personal attention to each and every guest present; special mention to Mr Santhosh.
The room was clean, spacious with breathtaking views. We also took a hike with Mr Madan which was a great experience. We cannot say enough good things about how they followed COVID protocol, each and every staff wore mask COVERING both nose and mouth, sanitizers easily accessible everywhere.
The management of this place must receive an accolade, they definitely got it from me and family.

The location is absolutely amazing. The room opens up to a view of the mountains. The entire estate has a variety of floral plants. Every walk around the property would invariably lead you to one of the many waterfalls.

The food all through our stay of 4 days was delicious. The service provided by everyone on the staff needs a special mention. They are very courteous.

Since it was pouring all through the days we stayed, we could not enjoy our morning coffee on the balcony as we would have liked.

Best gateway from the city. 8 acres of resort in 180+ acres of coffee plantation. We stayed for 3 nights. The food is really great here. They are more than happy to cater us on our needs. It's one of the best resort we've been to. They offer best service.
The buggy service is also great for travelling from cottage to other restaurant and the recreation center. They offer best room service and the cottages are cleaned every day. They have inhouse trekking, birdwatching and plantation walk. Special thanks to Ms. Jyoti she took good care of us.
Best time to visit would be between July to Jan.

It's a good property for a short stay. Rooms are well spread over a hilly area. Which means all the rooms come with great views from the room itself. Well equipped with enough Buggys to ferry people within the property. F&B Manager is a humble gentleman who personally ensured we didn't face any major challenges during our stay.
My personal experience which might not hold true for others - It looked like Tamara had just resumed its services from lockdowns. Found a little bit of lag because of it in certain areas - Delays in check-in (45 mins.wait), confusions in reservation information, and a couple of hiccups in the room. Also, someone rang the bell of our room at 7.30 in the morning to check if we needed a buggy which spoilt our only day of stay at the property. Something small but shouldn't have happened.
Also, I found the only restaurant super crowded at all times with staff rushing everywhere to cater to the guests. For such a large property, multiple restaurants is a must.

Property is really beautiful and the views from the rooms are amazing. Make sure to book rooms in the 200 series to get the best views. However service is inconsistent and definitely needs an upgrade.

An absolute delight! The location itself is so pristine! The pictures don't do justice to the beauty of the place. Upon arrival, Miss Preethy ensured we had a smooth check-in! Harshita and Suchita were very sweet! Our cottage was right next to a waterfall and the interiors of the cottage were excellent. Everything was kept neat and clean and the balcony was to die for! Overlooking a very picturesque plantation and hills. The property is a paradise and is huge! Loved the place! Mr. Naveen, the executive chef personally attended to us and ensured we ate all that we wanted. The food is by far some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life! Each and every staff at Tamara were extremely sweet and helpful! It was a fabulous experience and I am very much looking forward to going back again soon! I miss the place already!

It was close to nature. Excellent staff, excellent weather, food is good, Cottage Interiors were superb. Maintaining a luxurious cottages at such an interior parts of wilderness is commendable.

Suggestions: Put some roof over veranda. It was raining for 4 straight days continously that we didnt even sit on veranda chairs. Quality of bathroom essentials were poor.

Awesome resort! I would highly recommend this place. And small waterfall next to restaurant really takes it to next level. Only drawback of this place is kid below 12 age are not allowed.

Had been here for 3 days 2 nights visit. The Place is the best resort I have been. Highlights were the staff's courteous nature, and the balcony view!
The food was marvelous, all types of continental and Indian cuisine. The buffet system was smooth. For Onam, there were typical Kerala dishes which were very tasty!
One can walk around the property and check out the numerous waterfalls.
The approach road to Tamara too was amazing, narrow roads but lush green everywhere! Even the route from Bengaluru to the resort is superb, and Coorg's nature will definitely refresh and cool your eyes!
Special mention for Sanil, the restaurant's live musician - inspite of his mask, his soulful voice reverberated across! Also Thamaiya, our plantation tour guide, his explanation and eagerness to explain the premises was exemplary! The coffee brewing session too was very informative and interesting. Also a thanks to Indranaath, he helped in our seamless booking experience. Overall a wonderful place to visit, and definitely worth the money!

This is perhaps the best property I have come across in India! It's expensive but the quality of rooms, SPA treatment or the food. It's really amazing. I wish could have extended my stay here. I am sure the view that you capture here will beat the best of Europe and leave everyone wondering about location of property. If budget is not a constraints please visit and experience the luxury!

Our room attendant Mr Raku singh did a great job by maintaining cleanliness of the room, inspite of rainy season he did his level best to keep the room clean and dry.

Good place as a weekend gateway or if you need to take a break admist nature.very calming environment. There are 2-3 natural falls inside the resort. Even in the restaurant there's a glass floor from which you can see the waterfall below. The balcony in the rooms have very beautiful view of the green coorg mountains among the clouds. The food is good. The staffs are friendly too. Do not plan if you have small kids as kids below 12yrs of age are not allowed in the resort as it is located in a hill top terrain and can be risky for small kids. The pool area is not very big though. But there's option of steam and sauna near the pool area. Amenities like yoga, spa, coffee trail, bird watching etc is available. Bar and activity area is good too. Other options like picnic spot and couple dinner near water falls also available (depends on weather conditions). Overall a good option to get away from daily hectic life and relax.

Me and my friends had been to this amazing place. The property is huge! The cottages are aesthetically beautiful and we'll maintained, the food is great. One can literally and figuratively connect with Nature! One can trek and explore the place and if you are lucky you will get to see seasonal birds.
The only disappointing thing was, we got our rooms very late, the resort is under staffed and no time management.

Rooms were neat and clean. Kishan was very attentive and helpful. Even though it was raining since last 24 hours, there was no water in our cottage. Thank you Tamara housekeeping staff.

Front desk - mentioned to the reservation team that I need interconnected rooms still given the wrong room after asking thrice at the reception.
Check in - were handed over key. No welcome package was given, no info as to where is the restaurant or what time is dinner/lunch or where is the spa or the activities available on the property. After reaching the room we realised wrong room was given so we had to wait outside the room for 50 mins.
IT team - we had 3 rooms & all ROOM PHONE DID NOT WORK
we had to call them 4-5 times but the buggy did not arrive for almost an hour since property has 0 network we couldn’t even use our phone to call the reception directly. Through our 3 night stay, everytime we had to get in touch with the hotel we had to call the front desk from The mobile phones & asked them to connect us to another number all this with barely any network.
HOUSEKEEPING - we asked for an extra blanket. When delivered the blanket, it has stains on it with the rain water stains and everything was wet. When we complain to them they came with one More blanket which also had marks.zero apology or any remorse shown. I even WhatsApp Preeti from the frontdesk since we could not call from the intercom. She read my WhatsApp and did not even respond to it.
2. We had 3 rooms and all the three rooms and discrepancies some rude and had less bathrobes some rooms had less slippers.
All in all housekeeping staff was not so bad they were far more adjusting. Mebam I believe his name was, he was very helpful.
ROOM DINING - after 6.5 hour journey, we reach the room and ordered for some snacks at 5: 30. First they said only burger and Pakora is available. So we just ordered at 6: 45 we get a call that chicken burger is not possible. So far one hour they did not bother preparing our food.food finally arrived at 7: 30 & was COLD.when ordered for a pesto pasta, sent a pink sauce pasta. We were so frustrated we didn’t even bother telling them because we knew would take more than 2 hours to deliver.
RESTAURANT - Prince, service was courteous & impeccable, he has accommodated all our needs in whatever way. If he realised something was not up to the mark, he always took measures that made us feel welcomed.
But the lady who was sitting at the restaurant desk. We preordered food at 2pm as we had a coffee trek at 3: 30, When we reached at 2: 30 food was not ready.we told her we have a coffee plantation trial at 3: 30 she told us that It will only start when 6 of us are done and she will make sure that the Trail doesn’t start without us. OPPOSITE happened, food arrived at 3: 16 we had only 15 min. When we reached the starting point at 3: 35 they told us all umbrellas are over and the Trail started without us.we waited for umbrellas for 15 min n then had to run in the rain so we could become part of the trek. HORRIBLE behaviour and DISRESPECTING to lie to guests n not even apologise or make any Arrangments.
Check out - had called for buggy at 12 PM it did not come till 12: 50 PM eventually we decided to walk from the room to the reception while it was raining cus we were getting late for a flight.the front desk has made a mistake in our bills. GM - we expressed our grievances to the manager whose name I cannot remember. There was just a half-hearted apology given & telling us that please do come back to our resort. He just seemed apologetic n asked us 3 times how can they make us happy clearly knowing we have already paid for everything & had checked out. If they really did want to make us ha ppy they could have either offered a free stay or even a 50% voucher at their properties or as simple as giving us the welcome goodies that apparently are given to guests during check in. They could have even independently given us 50% off on the spa treatments or on the food. The entire staff was clearly aware of all issues we faced because when we spoke to GM he said he already knew. Even after knowing all these issues they did not care.

Beautiful location, yummy food, excellent staff. Thought it is quite far from the main town Madikeri.but that's the fun, living away from the city crowd and noise, into the nature.and once you are here, you don't have to go elsewhere as it has everything to spend a perfect holiday

Strategically located on a cliff, most of the rooms have fantastic views. Even better, you wake up to the melody of the birds, rising sun, amidst the clouds in the distance making you seem like you are above them.

Very poor service standards. Dishonesty and rude behaviour by restaurant manager Mr Prince, horrible service recovery by general manager Mr Krishna, non transparent billing.

Tamara coorg is one of the luxurious resort in Coorg and located at the top of mountains.
The location l, ambience and resorts are exceptional. Had a wonderful and memorable stay. The buffet system is so cool and it accumulates lot of dishes including south indian and continental.
Over all the stay was good only thing to improve is room service and food delivery.
They have arrangements like trekking, plantation view.

The place is amazing. Very private, beautiful, and calm. You can enjoy the nature and animals from your terrace. Beautiful birds are everywhere.
The rooms are somptuous, beds super comfortable, and the bathroom, shower, toilet are really good quality. Everything is well thought for any need of the customer.
The food is super good, we really loved the cashew pulav.
And the jacuzzi at night allowing you to see the stars is just the must

Unfortunately had a bad experience. Wasn't even allowed beyond the gate after having driven so far. The Reason was: 'not enough tables to accommodate 2 customers'

Beautiful resort that is one with nature lots thoughtful environment conservation. This place is So far the best food I have had in coorg. The place has excellent service ask for manjunath or lohith in restaurants for the best service. I had taken the pool side candle light dinner experience which is worth the service and the ambience. The only cons is way the drivers are accommodated, our driver told me there are bed bugs in the driver dormitory which unacceptable given this is a five star hotel. I have removed one star for the driver accommodation issue other wise this place is awesome.
