The Windflower Resorts And Spa Coorg

I came here to check out the resort before booking it for my son’s honeymoon. We unfortunately had the worst experience since the phone did not work in the room and so we were cut off from the management and so could not order our meals. I managed to speak to someone on the mobile phone, but these people think nothing about cutting a call while you are speaking to them. Miss Sapna was the first to do so, and three others followed and cut their calls. Please think twice about booking this resort. I have already dropped the idea of using this resort for my son’s honeymoon.

I have been to this place multiple times and every time it was a pleasant stay. The location and the property is absolutely amazing. I loved the nature around. We booked the suite and the rooms were nice. It felt like colonial bungalows. The food was too good and lot of options. Even they make you custom dishes on request. The dinning hall and the swimming pool is also nice.
Overall nice experience.

It's decades old property which isn't maintained and looks haunted with bad vibes, room service was bad - didn't even place toiletries. Reception doesn't bother to cater to your needs. However, this property is placed at very good location.
Though I'm from coorg, I visited this place to try out their buffet and food service for 2 days of my visit. Was very disappointed. Food spread was limited and didn't taste good.
Not worth the price they charge.

The worst experience ever. Food is very average. Service is pathetic be it room service or the dining area. The money they charge is no where correlated to the facilities and service. It's a one star disguised under the name of 5 star.

Had been here for few days as part of a business trip. Facilities were not even reasonable compared to WF at Mysore. Had a been to a awful experience wrt food, checkin and check out. In nutshell is avoidable.

The worst 5 star resort in Coorg. It says its a 5 star resort but it doesn't have any 5 star facilities. The rooms are not neat and not even properly maintained. The service staff is really bad and its not even upto a 3 star resort. No one should ever visit this resort.

A luxurious resort with well maintained spacious rooms and an awesome ambience.
Food could be a bit better though.

For a 5-star hotel, this is a very poorly maintained resort. Stayed there for 2 nights in their jacuzzi villas with my family. Jacuzzis are poorly maintained, temperature controls are not working and jacuzzis generally are in unusable state. When I called the reception to get a jacuzzi cleaned, they said staff is only available after 8.30! Kids were very disappointed overall during our stay.

No gym, swimming pool is not heated and poorly maintained amenities for the price they are charging. The photos are a bit deceptive. There are other better maintained resorts in this area. I say don’t waste you money here.

It was nice resort with food and accommodation. Recommended for a family get together. Price is high and need to maintain the activities much better as most of them are not maintained or not working condition. Food quality and options very good, restaurant service is very good, however routine follow up with customers, routine room cleaning should be there as it is missing and customer have to chase for that. The play area for adults are not maintained well. The contact number in the internet is not working as expected. Must follow up with customers for booking status and check in status as this 5 star facility offering. If the customer service, room service and play area maintained well, then that would be great.

Windflower Resorts & Spa Coorg was located conveniently from around 12km ahead of Madikeri. Although the 1.4kms road stretch leading to resort was bumpy, but the roads within resort itself were good.
The best part in the resort was its staff. Right from the restaurant staff, room service and reception, everyone was always ready to serve with a smile. They entertained all our requests, e.g. Guiding us to the local market, taking our orders from the table (during buffets) and many more.
For the other aspects of the resorts, it was not being maintained much I felt. The barbecue and bonfire area was deserted (may be due to Covid). Although the pool was open, so that was a good thing!
I felt the price could have been little lower because the price that we're paying makes us expect a very posh experience of room (e.g. Room was missing dental kit but it was provided to us when asked for). Room was decent but not extraordinary.
The buffet variety was also good enough for us. But compared to other places for the same price, it didn't seem like we had unlimited options!

While the location is good, property is nice, guests need to be made aware that there are few things that are not available at the resort prior to the booking clearly. For instance alacarte menu not available, pick and dropfrom the villa to the main restuarant area is pain in the wring place, room service is very poor considering this a 5 star property, in room toiletries need to be asked, intercom not available, need to call multiple times to the one mobile number available to et things done. For the price we pay below par service.

Note: we come here to relax and have good food. If one don't care about food, then it's fine to come here. Amazing location. I have no complaints on that.
I doubt this resort is up to Windflower standards. For 10K per night. It lacks many facilities.
1. No bath robe.
2. No buggie is functional.
3. No intercom to speak to receptionist. One has to use watsapp if we need anything.
4. All sports activies are closed except swimming pool.
5. Pathetic low quality Food. I had acidity issue. I don't know how many days old cake they offer. Only cream is freshly made. When you guys are charging so much. Keep in mind that you are suppose to offer good quality food.
Live counters are for the sake of it. They prepare such bad food there. Haven't eaten such bad pasta in my life.
We have to search what we can eat to fill our stomach.
Pros:
House keeping is good.
Property is well maintained.and a person called nagesh is in charge of hospitality. He will try to cover up and try his best to keep you happy.
That doesn't mean it's a happy stay. I dint enjoy the stay here and don't recommand anyone. Over prized resort.

Simply it's like being in the Lap of Nature.well designed n maintained resort.having its own class.bathroom are very spacious n unique.
Certainly staffs are very caring.tk care of every needs of their guests.
Ambience.food.hospitality all were very satisfying.
Morning walk towards coffee plantation with melody of birds was very rejuvenating.

This place is super awesome for someone looking for a stay in midst of nature. Beautiful location in a coffee estate. We did a plantation walking tour also and it was a good experience. Food is very good and staff is warm and welcoming.
Rooms are basic and one should not look forward to luxurious interiors. Upkeep of common areas outside the rooma was also not great. Perhaps it's deep into the forest and it might be hard to keep it spic and span. Rooms are very big with an attached living room. Gives a feel of jungle lodge. This place is around 10-12 km from the Madikeri town.
Overall we had a good experience staying here.

Rooms place degraded to lowest category not sure why still shows 5 star? This should not be priced even 3000 per day than they charge heavily

Rooms Needs a major upgrade (Bathrooms are very out dated with old stuff), Staff trying their best to maintain them.
Water heater systems to be upgraded with more capacity.
Booked a stay with family between 10th – 12th of Sep 2021, Suite Room which was booked was given but had issues due to the room condition as it was odd with hardly any light in the changing area, stuffy smell, very moist with sort of water seepage on walls all over. The Jacuzzi has all the issues, with those water jets falling out and one of the knobs hit my sons head, a very small outdated water heater which can hardly fill the tub, which was very irritating, after complaining, the staff was courteous to change the room the next day. The new room too had issues in the shower area with old water controllers, which had issues with old hot and cold taps, just imagine of is not adjusted properly, very old shower hardly any water coming out, no glass door due to which water spreading all over.
The staff was very courteous, excellent food, great view at the dining area, good place to walk inside.

Would love to visit once again, provided the rooms are upgraded.

My sister booked this hotel for my parents they have a bug in their website so we were trying to book for Coorg and it booked for Mysore its been now 5 days but they didn't return our money I will not suggest anyone to book this hotel, it will happen with you also, don't waste your time and money here. I will suggest you go and book other places way better than this hotel

Definitely a great place to stay. Surrounded by lush greens, its a delight to stay here. The mornings will start with the songs of rare species of birds. Followed by amazing breakfast. Service is definitely beyond par. The staff goes an extra step to ensure the happiness of guests. Kid friendly place. The play area does need an upgrade though. Talking about the trampoline here. Still my kids went crazy for the swings and the indoor play area. Swimming pool is quite a beauty. A great place for photographs. Loved exploring the place, theres a quite lake, beautiful coffee plantation all around. Night time there should be a bit more lights on the path/ road. It does get a bit spooky in some places. But That adds to the beauty of the place nevertheless. A beautiful place to stay which i will recommend to all.

Our stay over windflower was awesome. We got our rooms upgraded to private bangalow with private pool. Thanks alot to the reception staffs Remya and Suchitra. They were fantabulous to get that extra smile on our faces. Thanks for an awesome stay. Food was ok ok. But I gave 5 star for the staffs.

Extremely bad experience for my old parents- Stay as far from them as you can

I had booked rooms for my parents and in-laws (please note all of them are retired, so are above 60) for Windflower Coorg, however because of their website bug all the resevations were made for mysore instead of coorg (please refer to the video attached).
When my parents reached the location, this problem was brought to their notice, and were told that there are no rooms available in their property and the staff present at the reception suggested to go to purple palm resort or woodstock resort and please mind hou this was happening at 8: 30pm in the night in coorg, If you have been to coorg you would know what I mean, it becomes very dark and roads are hilly very unsafe to drive at night. The resorts suggested by them were 17 kms far and as a result my parents had to spend a night in some shady place.

I brought this to the team's attention and instead of listening to our problem and the issue that their website had and how my parents were treated. They blamed everything on us and said they cant do anything about this and the best they could do is extend the booking till november. I am not a resident of india and told them that because of the uncertain situation I will not be travelling anytime soon and neither my parents travel very often.

The team is not ready to agree to the point that my parents were sent back and kept emphasing that rooms are availaible.
Why would you not allot the rooms on your own when guests have arrived at your property where you claim you had rooms availaible and the payments were made, when you see confusion?

Its just outrageous and disheartening to not be able to trust these so called "reputed" chains.

My friend book this hotel they have a bug in the website so They were trying to book for Coorg and it was booked for Mysore but they didn't return our money and they are not getting any response from the hotel worst service ever I will never recommend anyone to book this hotel.worst service worst hotel.

The whole resort is located in the middle of forest area. We stayed in Villa so it was a long and inclined walk to the eating area and other part of the resort. It was delightful but people who might not able to walk or don't like to walk should consider this. We went on plantation walk inside the forest and due to monsoon, it was a little harder. Also couldn't use Jacuzzi due to monsoons and Pool was closed due to covid. The pool looks so serene. I wish it was open but understand that health is important and this is a good call by the management. The 4 stars are for the service, aesthetics and experience in resort. 1 star less because of food. They need to improve the food because it was not very good. Even the coffee and tea which is had by everyone was not upto par. They should change the chef and appoint someone who can manage to put out more delicious food.

Below standard! I paid 20k per night for jacuzzi villa and it’s not working. I had to request the cleaning staff to clean the jacuzzi and make it operational. When you pay for it, you expect it to be working when you walk into the room.

Not worth a money spend. Property is not maintained. These guys are charging too much.no proper recreational stuff available. Even the reception area you feel you entered a good decent resort

Stayed here in Aug 2021. Excellent service by the entire staff.rooms are clean and well maintained. We understand how difficult it is to maintain the resort when it rains so much in Coorg.excellent service and great food. A big salute to the entire staff. Don't go by negative reviews. Good property, reasonably well maintained. While we understand footfall could be low due to covid, compromising on food but not on price is not a nice thing to do. We weren't offered buffet on couple of occassions, and even when offered, the choices were so limited. Not deserved for the price we paid per night.

Without doubt one of the favorite resorts I stayed during my time in coorg, Madikeri! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and general manager, our names were mentioned on the board and we were upgraded to the Paradise Suite @windflowerresortandspa, Coorg.
The staff was extremely friendly and cooperative, the restaurant was very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor and staff deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience.

The second day we did a coffee plantation tour with trekking which was an amazing experience, I truly enjoyed walking through the coffee plantations and resort. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The natural open air jacuzzi bath on the end was a great way to end the trekking.

Note, the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the management who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality! @windflowerresortandspa ️

It's a very nice place to stay. Well decorated n furnished. The resort covers a huge area there is villas, suites n cottages I stayed at the cottage. The rooms were spacious but not maintained. In the bathroom there was open shower but it was dirty as well. The path towards the cottages needs more light as it is in the woods it gets more dark at night n there was no room service yet there were numerous staffs but inefficient. However the resort is very good one but the staffs needs to b much more trained as half of the credit of the property depends on them too.

Most features in the bathroom were not working properly from the toilet gun to the bathtub. The bathtub was leaking so badly that the entire bathroom became like a swimming pool and we had to use towels to prevent the water from seeping into the room. I paid extra for a suite room because I wanted a fully functional bathtub. I also mentioned this in special requests before arrival. The hotel tried to give us another room after day 1 was ruined but again the jacuzzi and bathtub were dirty and not maintained so we declined the offer. They made no effort to resolve the issue after that and only fixed the bathtub. I feel like I visited this hotel and paid them Rs. 25K to repair their facilities while I supervised. Also after they fixed the bathtub on day 2 of our stay, black dirt was flowing from the nozzles into the tub. The whole experience was gross and disgusting. We didn't want to use the bathroom and no solution was provided except showing us other rooms where the bathtub and jacuzzi were also not maintained and unhygienic. I am very disappointed by this hotel and they managed to ruin my husband's birthday by giving us a poorly maintained room.
Also when I booked this room it said it's a river view room and there is no river in sight. Only other cottages can be seen and a run down badminton court which is used to dry coffee. Horrible experience.

The property is lovely. Lush green and huge. It’s right in a coffee plantation making the experience even better. The rooms are spacious as well. The amenities were well thought of when the property was created.
However, none of it is maintained. It looks like the place hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. The floors in the rooms are also lacking maintenance. The water flow in the bathroom is erratic. There was a huge spider in the room and my son didn’t want to sleep in the room.
The food on the first day was pathetic but improved slightly by day 2 and day 3. There was a buffet being offered which I don’t think is the right thing during Covid times. They did not supply bottled water in the rooms either. Something I believe is a must during Covid times.
The only saving grace of the place is Kumar. Kumar ensures that everyone has a great time. His plantation walk is something to look forward to and the highlight for us was a visit to a private waterfall which was arranged by Kumar. The other staff are courteous too.
To summarise, it’s a beautiful property but lacks maintenance and care.

The place is not at all maintained. The food is at its worst.
Nothing to do for the new year no activities.
A complete no from our side.

Located in a beautiful peaceful place. Road to the resort is a little bumpy but it’s only a kilometer or so. The staff are kind and we’re understanding of our problems and we’re able to fix it. The room was also spacious and hot water was avaialable at all times. About the food there are many reviews complaining about it. However I found it great as they had a variety of food everyday. The waiters were also very kind especially vineesh who was generous. The only reason it isn’t 5 star is because of little flaws here and there. It took quite a long time for check in to take place and the buggy services were not present due to covid which I found unnecessary but it is policy. I do recommend it and enjoy yourselves.

Cozy luxurious place away from Madikeri chaos.

Staff was very co operative. Hotel was good spacious and food was delicious They have a plantation walk by Kumar which is very good. Front desk Ramya n Krish were very helpful.
Room cleaning and restaurant staff was also good.

Planned a stay here for the weekend of 21st November. Everything was payed and confirmed for. While on the way with my partner nearly after driving 200km on the day of our stay, we get a call from the reservation desk stating that there was some issue with the water system at the property and hence the stay will be cancelled. Stranded now in the middle of nowhere we were told that we will be compensated and put up in another accommodation within the hour so we continued our drive. 2 hours on we get no calls, messages only to find out that we are being put up in a 3 star accommodation (No that i have a problem with this), which is nearly half the price that i have payed for and this is a fair deal according to the reservation team. This is clearly something we had not planned for and immediately asked for a refund and could figure out something better on our own. Surprising part is that no one is able to take a call on the refund saying that it is not something they can control. Somehow we managed to get across to the General Manager of the company who after speaking on call assured us of a refund over the weekend or within a couple of days max. Of course there was no email confirmation from their end so i had to write this myself to get a late acknowledgement. Come next week i was asked for 7 days. So i wait patiently. 7 days on i get a call from their reservations team asking for my bank details so i provide that and then i am being asked for 7 more days. Its been more than 2 weeks since this horrible experience and these chaps still don't seem to respond to messages and emails. Calls honestly are not worth it as they are so badly coordinated in such a crisis. Please do not plan your weekends here as these gives have no idea on how to treat and care for a customer especially in such a situations where one ends up planning a stay their end and wastes nearly 9 hours on the road thanks to their horrible managerial skills.

Extremely safe to go to during COVID, they're extremely hospitable and ensured everything was money's worth! I was fairly surprised to hear they only reopened beginning of November!

Only con - fairly expensive, but honestly during COVID with all their safety precautions, absolutely worth it.

Had booked a villa for a relative long weekend stay, they ensured everything was cleaned and sanitized in front of us, the Jacuzzi is cleaned on demand (pretty hard to maintain with rains in Coorg - but they managed it well). If anything is missing, they'll ensure you face no trouble.

Surprisingly, there was no issue of mosquitoes as one would expect at a place like Coorg, they're fairly effective with their pest control.

Hospitality at its finest really, all of the managers were consistently cordial and supportive of all our custom needs - from decor for a special event, to arranging a memorable experience.

Had one of the best dining experiences owing mainly to the hospitality of the manager and the staff accommodating all our custom needs. The food is really good, they're very particular about freshness and taste.

The resort location is too good - it's fairly secluded from the crowd, but also maintained very well to stay amidst fresh air and nature. They have great indoor activities too for safely enjoying during COVID. All spaces are fairly well ventilated.

Will definitely visit again!

Worst experience possible! Not even the basics are available! No hot water, the room key not working. Absolutely pathetic. Never coming here again.

It was great being here! Except they didn't provide jacuzzi which was mentioned in service list. Surroundings of this resort is just wonderful, it was so peaceful to stay here.
