THOKKOTTU BRIDGE

No proper vehicle line. It's a mess-chaotic. Potholes also. The worst flyover design till date, it opens at a junction, no proper thought given behind this flyover.

It's very useful for un educated and other state people for Stop nad go to krka manglore and ullal derga

Thokkottu is my place and i travel often bridge reduced the traffic i think it would have been better if the constructed with pillars

Nothing much too say as I see it every day I see no spl about this place, for me it's just a everyday place

Good road and easy to travel. No block will be their. Four way road. Under the bridge food, market, stationary shops are available. Best route to travel to Mangalore.

We use this bridge regular basis for traveling to and from Deralakatte.

It would be great if they add more street lights, CCTV, humps (at the entrance and end), remove unnecessary humps, etc.

Thokkottu is a commercial Junction to the south of Mangalore city on National Highway 66 (previously known as NH 17) & also the gateway to Mangalore city from the South (Kerala). It is one of the major and busiest junctions of Mangalore city wherein one road (Medical corridor road) goes towards east to Deralakatte and Konaje, educational hubs with several premium educational institutions and few IT companies, the other road towards west goes to Ullal. This junction connects Mangalore city, second major city of Karnataka with Talapady & Kerala. A flyover is constructed in the junction to reduce the congestion for the travellers travelling between Mangalore city & Kerala. The creation of educational institutions in Deralakatte & Konaje has led to the construction of many commercial complexes in the area.

Not satisfied with the engineering and planning they did for this. Many accidents took place bcz of their inefficiency.

Iconic structure which took just about decade to complete. During the course of the construction, locals have protested over the delays and Birthdays of the flyover were also celebrated.

Construction of this flyover was tainted with controversy. Completion date was a hot potato for political parties alike. Sadly few motorist also lost their life because of unsafe conditions of roads. May their soul rest in peace.

This place had a fan following and it was butt of most meme’s.

A few motorists who used the flyover even said that they felt the road vibratiing while passing near the area which is now cordoned off by the police.

Now the police have confirmed that crack has actually appeared on the flyover. They said that barricades have been set up to control vehicular movement at the spot. Officials have visited the spot and the crack is being scrutinized, they stated
