Tipu's Death place

This is the death place of Tipu Sultan who was shot dead by a British Soldier while fighting and his body was found at this spot among heaps of other soldiers. At this spot, the Britishers installed a stone in his memory. Entry is free, please remove your shoes before entering the place.

Not sure why was it closed at 5 pm. Small place, certainly nostalgic for history lovers. Government isn’t doing much to save history of India.

On the side of the road running through the fort boundary. Well maintained but not crowded at all.

Tipu Sultan who fought without truce against the British. Tipu Sultan was a major enemy of the British East India Company. During the Fourth Mysore War, Tipu was killed during a joint attack by the British and the Nizam of Hyderabad. A king fighting and dying in the Indian freedom struggle became a much-noted historical event.

This is exact place were one of our great leader tippu sultan was found dead and his body was found, he was killed by British entering through subway of tippus fort and finally they killed him and stole many monument from tippu sultan forts, this was market as exact place were body was found

One of the historical places in Mysore.where Tipu sultan was martyred in the battle field during the war with British. The only king in India who was martyred in the battle field while fighting with British.

The body of Tipu Sultan was diacovered at this place. Although, he was actually killed at tge nortgern end of tge Water Gate, located another 100 m ahead. A stone rablet has been erected here in his memory. There are no entry fees to this place. You need to remove your footwear before entering this place as a mark of respect. This place is located on the road and can be viewed without having to walk a long distance or climb any steps.

OK for people who are interested in seeing the tomb but be careful of scammers who try to sell you parking tickets without any seal for high rates.

This is the exact place where there body of Tipu Sultan was found after fighting with the Britishers. There is a small stone placed in his remembrance and it is well maintained and surrounded by a small garden.

In the Fourth Mysore war the British laid siege to Srirangapatna on 4th May 1799 AD and effectively breached the Fort at Watergate. On hearing of this storming of the enemy, Tipu moved in Posthaste to the spot, and in the fight, fell to the bullet of a British soldier. It was here the body of Tipu was identified and recovered amidst heaps of the dead soldiers. In the recognition of the valiant Tipu, Colonel Wellesley set a stone tablet to mark this spot.

This place is not so big as compared to the other places. This place comes in between the ranganathswamy Temple and gumbaz. This is a place where tippu was injured by the British soldiers and from here he was taken to gumbaz. The place is maintained cleanly.

The sultan of mysore Tipu, is considered to be one of the bravest rulers of those period who fought with the British by himself and became a matyr. Though he had given his life for the country and its people, his remainings are not taken care of well by the authorities. The government could have given more concern and care for the monuments he has constructed.

Well maintained even after the brave ruler passing away fighting like a tiger against the British years ago.

It is the place where the body of Tiger of Mysore Tippu Sultan was found. He fought the britishers, and died a heros death.

It is the historical place where Tippu Sultan who is known as the TIGER OF MYSORE had his last breath. He died in the war against the british.

Nothing much to see here. Visit only if you need to otherwise there is no such special arrangement here. The monument lies just along the road side. It is well maintained though.

Here is the Tipu Sultan Death Place available to visit. In the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the imperial forces of the British East India Company were supported by the Nizam of Hyderabad and Marathas. They defeated Tipu, and he was killed on 4 May 1799 while defending his fort of Srirangapatna.
Tipu used to say it was better to live for two days like a tiger than drag out an existence like a sheep for two hundred years. He had a special reverence for tigers. He kept six in his fortress-city of Seringapatam (now Sriringapatna), 200 miles west of Madras, where his throne was shaped and striped like a tiger. His elite troops wore tiger badges, the hilt of his sword was in the form of a snarling tiger, and his favourite toy was a mechanical tiger straddling a British officer while the victim squealed in terror

The place where Tippu's Sultan's dead was found. It's bit away from his tomb, 10mins drive. We need to remove our footwear before entering the place. Place is guarded by a security guard. There's no parking place, however, vechile's can be parked on road.

The place where Tipu's body was found is close to the northern fringe of the fort. The road from Masjid-e-ala (the mosque with minarets you see as you enter Srirangapatna) towards the Water Gate passes by this point. A fenced area with a stone marks the area where his body was found.

Tippus defense against British East India company ended here. Famous for his generalship in war, reforms as a ruler and formidable energies in defending and expanding his kingdom (Mysorean invasion of Malabar & Travancore 'Tipus' 'Padayottam', he is regarded as the Napolean of India.

Really crowded. Messy place. Request the government to make proper arrangements for people coming from around the world

Nothing there. Only a stone with naming of Tippu. People who love Tippu and admire him as king will like going there. No offence to anyone.

A visit to Tipu Sultan's Death Place is recommended to all tourists headed towards Srirangapatna. The body of the deceased Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore, was recovered at this place. A stone tablet was installed at the spot by Colonel Wellesley in order to demarcate the area where the illustrious ruler's body was found. The site where Tipu Sultan's body was found in the fort, Water Gate, is still in good condition.

This is the place near to Sri ranganatha swami temple in Sri ranga Patna where the place says that the body of tippu was found during the battle in that place.
