Vadas are crispy outside, soft, light and fluffy inside, awesome masala dosa, one if the few that still has the red chutney inside. Went there after more than fine years and happy to report that their standard has been maintained!

I had filter coffee here. Perfect taste and refreshing. The khara bhaat and Uddin Vada here are my favorites.

One of the oldest Darshini's in Bengaluru. Popular for vada sambar, masala dosa, shavige bath, vangi uppittu.not to forget the filter coffee. Have been regular customer since ages. If you are in south Bengaluru, just try this once.

Quality trade mark is dialogue of history. Price is hiked, Size reduced along with quality. Masala Dosa is hiked to Rs 50 but size along with taste /quality takes back seat.

Awesome and tasty Udupi Brahmin food. Affordable and they use all branded oil and ghee for making. No tasting powder

Vada and Sambar is also very tasty.
Generally very busy during breakfast fast time and also in the evening.
Concerning thing is that there are no seatings available here as it is a very small restaurant. However since it offers only fast food you can afford to spend some 15 to 20 min standing to get the taste of best food.

This was my favourite place before.but now Quality has reduced a lot over time.nothing tastes like before.i had found cokroach in sambhar once.cleanliness is also not there.

It's loaded with people almost all week. The 3 star is for the cleanliness they maintain. It's not that great.

One of the oldest hotels in Bangalore. It's famous for its masala dosa. It's in the prime location. People come from far to have a masala dosa and coffee. It's also famous for other typical south Indian foods like bonda soup,
Shavige, kotte kadubu and etc. Amazing food if you are a south Indian cuisine lover.

It's a legend! I think, this is the origin and model for very many eateries in Bangalore and even other places. Very good quality South Indian Tiffins and coffee/tea available.

This is commonly known as UD. The first hotel with self service concept came in Bangalore and UD was the trend setter. So yummy food! Don't miss MD (Masala Dosa) at UD! Vada Sambar and Shavige Bhath is another dish not to miss!

The dosas are real nice and so are their hot beverages. They maintain hygiene and pack food with paper boxes and banana leaves. I've seen people collect take-aways with their own boxes and bags, too. The ambience while having food outside accompanied by the trees of Basavangudi, adds to the experience.

Chaotic place, but there is a method to the madness. The quality and taste of food more than makes up for any minor inconveniences. The staff are friendly and helpful. People, please do not miss having coffee in this place.

One of the oldest darshini's if Bangalore. Reasonable price, great taste and very neat and clean. It is very popular with local crowd. Only South Indian snacks and Breakfast items are served in UD.

The cashier is worst person, don't know how to talk with customers. Food is very bad even it is not hot. Not worth for money. Very arrogant person.

Famous for kadubu. I had poori and it was too good. Very good experience if you get a place. Do not recommend to visit on weekends due to the crowd.

The staff are uncultured and disrespectful to customers as they have rude behaviour as brand UD has goodwill in locality and cashier is most egoistic person who throws money at desk for return of change treating like customers are beggers. The owner or concerned person should take responsibility of monitoring this and I can assure that good customer service can fetch them still more name and goodwill rather than giving free corpse vehicle for social service.

Place will be crowded most of the time.
Self service, for parcel you have to take the coupon and wait outside so hotel person will get u the parcel packs.

Popularly known as UD.has unfortunately lost its old quality n charm! Am sure many agree with me that chutney is very important for most items, but the chutney is so diluted with water that u cant feel the taste anymore, it's just a liquid with some flavor n texture of chutney. So disappointing! We tried idly vada sambar, masala dosa, rawa idly n khara bath. None of them were a WOW except kharabath was good and the saagu with rawa idly was alright. Rest all was ok ok taste wise. The place is clean. If you're hungry, not too particular on taste and just need a quick bite, eat here.but if you're a Bangalorean looking fr some authentic n typical tastes, this is not where you eat!

This is the pioneer of DARSHINI culture in the state. It still retains the original concept of clean, good, healthy food at economical prices! You get excellent idlies, vada, Rava Dosa, Shavige Bath. Coffee is also very good.
