A public gallery at the heart of the city. Beautiful space. Great location. A favourite place to get together over art and art activities. Great to visit when an exhibition is on to see various works by artists from all over.

A dismal gallery. Musty rooms, decrepit art - not maintained, with no lables. They have 3 floors which I wouldn't have known unless one of the disconnected security folks, mentioned it. Just a very sad and avoidable experience!

Must visit place for Art Lovers. The place is just beside the national museum and the tickets are also included with the ticket to National Museum.
Its a very calm and soothing place, where you can enjoy very different paintings mostly by Venkatappa.
Some new paintings by new age artists are also on display.

The collection of objects is good but the curation is really bad. Newspaper crumbled up, objects toppled over and wrong signs.

Good place for the art lovers but they could have showcased many more arts as so much vacant space was there to be filled which was not that good.

Its a heaven for Art lovers and historians. Suitable to spend time with family and friends. Could be planned for half day visits.
The Karnataka Government Museum built in 1877 in the neoclassical architectural style is located centrally on Kasturba road near Cubbon Park.
The museum is flanked by the Venkatappa Art gallery and the Visvesvaraya Industrial And Technological Museum.
It has a rare collection of archaeological and geological artefacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions which are on display on the ground and first floors.
There are three galleries in the museum; antiquity, painting and sculpture. The museum is also home to the Halmidi inscription, the earliest Kannada inscription (450 AD).
The museum and the Venkatappa Art gallery are located in the same complex and have a common entry ticket of Rs 20/-
. It is well connected by public transport and has washrooms. It is worth a visit for history buffs.

It was not very Maintaned. The lift was not working. I could not see one security guard.
This should not happen. Bangalore is a high-tech city. Hope it becomes better.

So me and my friends visited this venkatapoa art gallery which is in Kasturba road, Bangalore. It is 20 minutes away from market. Next to this building is vushveshwaraiah museum. The art gallery is very attractive place of red coloured building. It also has place for resting for tourists just behind it. You also get few food items to eat. It was really good and I loved it

We had an exhibition put up recently in venkatappa art gallery and it went really well with some prospect walk-ins and art lovers dropping in for the exhibition. About the gallery its spacious and rentals are at lower end but no much facility and most of the spot lights for display is not working, no hanging wires in place no ropes or wooden baricades to restrict ppl from touching the art work displayed. Such things are lacking which makes it unorganized

Best location for outsiders to visit in the heart of the city with beautiful cubbon park around and some of the great architectural buildings around.
