We had a very good experience at Vydehi hospital. I'm writing this review after 5 years of my mother's treatment. Vydehi was the first and the last hope that we had. They have highly professional and expert oncologists who treats the patients so well by using latest technologies which will have high morbidity rate. The word cancer will create tremors in anyones lives both mentally and financially. But the cost of treatment at that time was very reasonable compared to other hospitals.

My mother was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in Sept, 2017. We are really blessed for having got a highly experienced and expert doctor named Dr Keerthi B R who treated my mother. He was highly responsible and dedicated in his treatment who saved my mother's life. He always answered our queries on phone call or whatsApp whenever in need during the treatment and also even now.

She underwent chemo-radiation followed by major surgery using Laproscopic VATS oesophagectomy in Dec, 2017. It's been almost 5 years now. My mother is doing well by God's grace and blessings. My Father had undergone multiple surgery for chest wall tumor and kalloid outside vydehi in last 25 years. This time when i saw reoccurrence of kalloid i went to VIMS and it was detected dermatofibrosarcoma. Initially i was heart broken but thanks to Vydehi surgical oncology. I’m very thankful to Dr Amritha, who has helped us throughout the treatment of my father who had diagnosed with ca rectum. Vydehi Cancer Center has been a ray of hope for us. Its truly a temple of healing. My father-in-law's oral cancer got successfully treated here in Jan 2022. Cancer truly has a devastating impact on physical & mental health of patient and patient parties. Hence, Vydehi cancer center doctors counsels the patient & their near and dear ones exceptionally well and preps them up appropriately for the intended surgery. We were blessed to have the surgery done by leading onco surgeons, Dr. Ganesh & Dr. Hemant. The oncology department of Vydehi is the best. My mother was diagnosed with cervical carcinoma shortly after a uterus removal surgery. As like everyone else, the news was shocking and devastating. I was referred to Dr. Hemant in surgical oncology department of VIMS by our gynecologist. Once I met Dr. Hemant I knew instantly that I don't have to go else where or even try for second opinions. He gave the whole picture of the biopsy report clearly and referred us to radiation oncology. He infact came along with us and met Dr. Richa who then gave a clear plan of what to do next. The equipments in VIMS for detection of cancer is clearly state of the art as I have heard from many other physicians and they were able to detect the spread even at a microscopic scale. The treatment plans are always fine tuned to each patient with a patient centric approach. Dr. Richa did a wonderful job in making my mother mentally prepared for the process and gave her the spirit to fight back. Dr. Manjunath from medical oncology took care of the chemotherapy. We were so fearful about the chemo process but Dr. Manjunath gave good counselling clearly explaining what to expect and what not and mostly clearing out the myths surrounding this treatment. I also wanted to thank Dr. Mounika who was in charge for my mother's internal radiation which was the most difficult one of all. What my mother wanted was mental support and an assurance that all this will get over soon which she constantly gave. From what I understand, the doctors here are always on the cutting edge of the research in this field and they use these proven research outcomes for treatments, thereby minimizing the side effects attributed to the cancer treatment. We can always approach the doctors and they will be more than willing to help you clear your doubts. The friendly and humble nature of these doctors with their advanced expertise in Oncology is what I prefer rather than five star hotel kind of hospitals wherein the intention is only money making. As they say at VIMS, best cancer care need not be expensive.

surgeon level doctors have to spend time to guide patients.instead through intercom they can instruct particular department Or sister or any administrative staff has to be appointed for taking care of.name of department, department location doctor's availability/timings have to be mentioned in reception area.
. Wheelchairs is to be available at every floor and each department. Numbers need to be increased.

Vydehi Cancer Centre is one of the best hospital for cancer treatment in Bengaluru. All the doctors here are very good.
I visited Vydehi oncology department during October 2020 since my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. We first consulted Dr. M. S. Ganesh (HOD Surgical Oncology). After reviewing the reports he suggested 8 cycles of Chemotherapy followed by surgery and radiation treatment. He introduced us to Dr. Shashidhar K (HOD Medical Oncology) for further treatment. I am very thankful to Dr. Shashidhar since he helped us in each and every aspect during the entire course of treatment. He is a great doctor and more than that a very good human being. No words would be enough for us to thank him. I would also like to thank Dr. M. S. Ganesh for successfully operating my mother and Dr. Surya Prakash (Radiation Oncology) for his help during the course of radiotherapy.

I want to put on record the high level of treatment for breast cancer given by the Vydehi Hospital to my wife Meetha (56), about a year ago.

Soon after we noticed some lumps in her breasts in last week of October 2020, we rushed to a Diagnostic center and did the Mammogram and other tests. The result showed malignancy.
Meetha, a very active, health conscious woman socially well connected and involved in charity works, started worrying.
Our friends suggested to get the treatment in one of the leading Hospitals like HCG, MANIPAL, NH etc. One of her relatives from Kerala, who is a Doctor specialized in Urology referred us to Doctor Shashidhar in Vydehi Cancer Centre located in Whitfield.
We consulted Dr. Shshidhar, Head of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Shashidhar, reviewed the reports & spoke to us for 15 minutes. We felt relieved after listening to the explanation given by him when he stated that she was in early stage and Mastectomy operation had to be done on the breasts to remove all tumors. Biopsy of the tissues will follow, soon after which decision about the next step will be taken.
Operation was done successfully by Surgeon Dr. M. S. Ganesh, assisted by Dr. Hemant and other team members.
Biopsy report was reviewed and Dr. Shashidhar explained to us and convincingly told us the requirement for Chemotherapy/Radiotherapy for a short period.
He also told us, “ Being in Early Stage, It is recommended to do a new procedure called Mama-print test on the tissues which will classify the risk level of the Cancer - High or Medium or Low risk. It was to be done in Europe and cost involved is very high. If the risk is low, the treatment by oral medication can be done without need for either Radiotherapy or Chemotherapy thus avoiding side effects. ”
I opted to go ahead with the test. The sample of tissue was sent to the facility in Netherlands. We got the result after a few weeks.
We were relieved after seeing the report. By God’s grace Meetha’s case got classified as, “Low Risk category. ”
Dr. Shashidhar prescribed for consuming one Leterozole tablet everyday for a long time, about 10 years. He also advised to have BMD test every six months to assess if calcium level is satisfactory since the tablet has side effect to weaken the bones. We got the test done twice during the year and found the BMD satisfactory.

Since the period was during Covid 19 Pandemic, Dr. Shashidhar and Dr. Hemant told us to contact them in case of any post operation issues. We found them responding to Meetha’s messages and suggest remedial action.
Dr. Hemant, attended to her issue of swelling after a couple of weeks of Surgery on a Sunday which made her come out of the painful wound.

On 28th Oct 2021 me and my wife visited the hospital for a consultation regarding a lump in the left breast for my wife. We visited Dr. Ganesh, HOD.who looked into the issue and suggested a biopsy and the lump turned out to be benign which was a big relief. Dr. Ganesh explained the need for a surgery to remove the lump to eliminate possibilities of cancer. On 24th Nov my wife was operated on for the removal of the lump by Dr. Ganesh and his team Dr. Bharath and Dr. Kyathi. They whole process was explained clearly at each step and doctors were extremely knowledgeable about the actions being taken. The entire experience was great with a very supportive and friendly doctor interaction and great service by the hospital staff. The Yydehi Cancer department is very well equipped with facilities for all required tests and expert doctors like Dr. Ganesh. S Ganesh (Surgical Oncology) and his doctor’s team. After operation Dr. Hemant GN and Dr. Uma Madam get in touch with my wife and do their best for her speedy recovery. Oncology surgery doctor are very bad in surgery quality and treatment.completely am unsatisfied with treatment.

We were referred to Dr Abhinay by my friend who got treated by him, I'm so glad that we were referred to him. My relative was diagnosed with colon cancer and we thought that that was the end of the road. However after meeting Dr Abhinay we got hope, the patience with which he explained the problem and it's solution was beyond imagination. There was no delay in treatment and within 2 days his surgery was done and his post surgery recovery was unbelievable, we were discharged on the 4th day. I have no words to complement the surgical team at vydehi, especially Dr Abhinay who took care of us like their own relative. May God give you the strength to continue such good work. I consulted Vydehi cancer center for one my family member. We were in very tensed situation due to decease and also because of ongoing pandemic. We met one of the oncology surgeon Dr. Hemanth.
Some good points with hospital and doctors and staff.
1. Doctor took care of the patients at most care and personally consulated other department for the treatment and next steps.
2. Very clearly explained about the condition and next steps and made the patient very comfortable.
3. We stayed for 4-5 days in the hospital and staff is very good even with limited staffing (due to covid-19) sisters and duty doctors were taking care of patients with good care.
4. Doctor Hemanth is very much co opertive and polite with the patient and attender.
5. Cost is very much comparable with other hospital in bangalore
6. Over all very good treatment received pre and post procedure.
