A very good place to go for a trek. The road from to yana was also great, and if you don't know the route already make sure to download the map, since the internet connectivity is not available at times

Do visit one of the most unbelievable place. The big mountains are of volcanoes. Yana rocks is something different which is unusual rock formation in this area and very rare to see such thing in India.

Yana caves offer a thrilling adventure, perfect for a memorable outing with friends and family. The mesmerizing rock formations leave you in awe, and the trekking experience is truly rewarding. Don't miss the fascinating temple hidden beneath the rocks. For a well-rounded visit, opt for the south entrance to explore the temple and caves, while the north entrance leads to Vibhuti Falls and more caves, as they are not interconnected. A must-visit destination for nature and adventure enthusiasts!

Mesmerizing place. One has to trek for 2+ kms to go near the rocks. You can find many caves along the way.
Theres two routes to Yana Caves, one from Vaddi side where you can go to Vibhuthi falls also and another from Holebail side

Good for natural lovers, and try to arrive early bcos the ride to the spot is inside jungle nearly 15km. That little bit scary.

Had been meaning to visit the place as had heard about the story of Mohini Bhasmasur from Shiv Puran. The rock formations here are amazing. Mohini mountain is so cute while the bigger mountain with Shiva temple is amazing. Since this whole bigger mountain is considered Lord Shiva himself, shoes are not allowed inside. Take them off including socks and walk in. The temple is great. It was an enjoyable experience walking barefoot as parikrama around the mountain. Lush greenery here is amazing. This was a really special experience. Was amazed to see a huge mango tree in the forest which was unlike any I have seen. It had gone up straight to get light and then spread way up top (The things trees have to do to get light in thick jungles! Am adding it's photo too!) A must visit for nature and spiritual enthusiasts.

It's an amazing place to visit. It's a natural rock formation with a temple at the bottom of it. There's a cave within the rock formation where people can click pictures and hang out.
P.s. You'll have to walk for about a kilometer from the place where you park the vehicle.
It's around 3km to walk. Mobile networks not available. Due to sunlight road also full heat up, in yana cave you can not go with shoe, but appart from this it's a very good experience.

A great place to experience beautiful nature and majestic limestone rock formation. Visit during start or mid rainy season.
It's a holy place, you need to trek about 2-3 kms to reach the temple and the caves.
Wear shoes as possible to avoid leeches attack during rainy season.

It's a nice getaway for weekend. I visited during July. Around 5-6 kms road was terrible condition. Have to be very careful during this season. The rush was minimal. No entry fees. I took my pet along with me. No restriction for that except u cannot enter the temple. Except the condition of road it's nice to visit once.

Yana is an adventure of itself, i would recommend people to go with their friends or families to have a good time. Seeing the rocks itself amazes you, the treking part is better, you find a temple beneath the rocks. Totally recommend.

Yana caves is one of the finest creations of nature, located in Kumta in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, this cave is both alluring and mysterious.

Beautiful place with big rocks inside forest. If possible avoid south entrance and try north entrance. We went via South Entrance. The road was in excellent condition and through dense forest, enjoyed it while going there. Do stop in the middle and enjoy it rather rushing to Yana. The parking there also good. There are toilets and food shop. Even govt bus service is there. But the real problem is 2 Km trekking from parking to cave. That is quite steep. As we went last week of May, it was very humid and no wind at all through jungle. And last 500 meters are steep stairs. Anyone having heart problem and old people must avoid entry from south side. If you have stamina you may go. Carry water and wear shoes. After reaching the cave found people coming from north entry which is just 500 meter and plain road. I recommend that.
Once you reach there, there is a temple. So you have to remove shoes because the entry to cave is made through temple. This could have been avoided - but not sure why they made this way. You may wash your feet and buy food there at the top. You will have to take complete round around the cave and then come back to temple. Cave is not very big like Bora caves at Araku. Enjoy if you have time.

I visited today with family, last 6 km road is not at all good, you need to walk for 3 km however you can hop open jeep too by paying 50₹ per way. Cave is excellent but can expect lots of steps to cover. Enjoy

A must visit destination. It comes under Karnataka Forest tourism. Place is well maintained. Clean washroom facilities available.small shacks at the entrance of the hike is there. You have to walk around 1-2 kms before you reach the stairs leading to the rocks.there are around 300-400 stairs worth climbing. People who love outdoor and natural trails should definitely visit this beautiful location. Its an hour drive from Gokarna

An hour of trek up through dense forest and streams! Small shop at the base with local snacks and one at the top near temnple. You will also get lemon soda, majjige & cold drinks to quench your tire & thirst.

After trecking up & visiting the temple, with the bare foot get inside the caves and marvel at the deep cuts and thick forest views! Beware of leeches in rainy seasons. You can drink the water of the streams here:)

We took a local bus from gokarna to kumta. Two way Rikshaw from Kumta to Yana (Yana busses from Kumta goes only twice in a day 7: 30 around & 1: 30 in the afternoon)
There is a north side parking & a South side parking. Both parking lots are almost equidistant from the Vibhuti falls (known as Yana rocks) South parking is approached from Kumta by climbing up the steps while the North parking is from Sirsi that is a trail downhill.
Ordinarily it would take about 2 hours if you do it on your own, on foot, from any parking lot and return.
Places to see (North to South) :
1. Yana cave, 2. Yana rock & Shiv Temple, 3. Pradikshna of the rock, 4. Mohini rock, 5. Ganapati Mandir & return.
The same could be done in reverse if starting from south parking lot.

Place is awesome but govt must think abt roads to reach. Roads r horrible, if u use any less ground clearance vehicle u need to think twice to visit
Excellent, Plenty of oxygen, devine place, good workout to your body, many people were complaining abou leeches, i couldn't find one (may be in rainy season)

Good place to trek with family and kids, also for college students.

Don't miss to drink the natural spring water, you get energized.

Request the readers, if you visit, please don't throw plastic, keep it green.

Beautiful place.

Good place but needs to be maintained! There is to much plastic littering! And not to forget about the road towards yana! Last 3 km are extremely horrible!

Great place. There are 2 routes, 1 from Gokarna side which takes u through a water fall and I believe that one is of less trekking. We didn't take that. We came from Kumta side and there was a good trek. Almost 2 km of off road walk and 400 to 500 steps to climb. It took 1hr and 15 minutes for a person like me to complete the trek and reach back to my car. This side road was also good but narrow. The trek is also good, even kids can do.not sure on the route from Gokarna side.
From the Kamta route once u reach, There's a 40-45 Min trek to reach the rocks.steeps and steps both are involved. Amazing rocks. Nature at its beauty. After reaching there's a temple through which you go to the actual caves.
Beautiful place to learn about our heritage and nature. Also has amazing views and a good trekking path. The caves are natural beauty.

Very existing place and surrounding nature, because should have a walk upto 3kms from parking lot. ️
Its felt like Small trekking and absolutely enjoy the way.
Actually there are three ways to reach a YANA, were a sirsi to yana / kumta to yana / hillur to yana (from the cross of hubballi -karwar NH63).

Yana attracts hikers because of its two massive rock formations, known as Bhairaveshwara hill and Mohini hill (90 meters) in height. Yana rocks is something different which is unusual rock formation in this area and very rare to see such thing in India. Probability of bird spotting is very high at Yana rocks and nearby areas. Parking is available.

Its been one of the most beautifully naturally created structure.but the problem is transportation.they are reconstructing the road hence no cars can travel they have tk park well 3 kms before the caves, if its 2 wheller u can try but at ur own risk
It's a beautiful place but the only downside is the road to it is under construction and we'll have to walk 2-3 kms to Yana parking lot. It is only accessible by bike or SUV's
A cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is found at the base of the Bhairaveshwara shikhara and the two hillrocks are also named for this event the tall peak being Bhairaveshwara Shikhara (Shiva's hill) and the smaller peak, a few steps down below being Mohini Shikhara (Mohini's hill).
Hindus mythology links the place with an event of life of the Asura, Bhasmasura.
There are two ways to visit this place, one is from Yallapur town and another from Sirsi or Kumta.
