A must-try place, charged 100Rs as an entry fee.

We were amazed by seeing the scenery while trekking.

Wear shoes while visiting here, you can spend at least 4 hours here.

For this place the journey mattered more than the destination. If you have vertigo then avoid it. Just visit till Shanti falls and go back. Wear some shoes or sandals with good grip and carry Tupperware/steel since plastic is not allowed. You will need water.

Very good trail and amazing view for the sunrise. Must visit if you are in Kemmangundi. Best Sunrise point.

It was an breath taking experience the trek was really easy. There are 2 ways one goes really steep and high difficulty and the other way is medium difficulty. We choose the medium way. The view at the top was feast to the eyes. Take your own snacks and water. Best time is winter without the monsoon so the view is cloudy and heavenly and path not slippery. Entry fee 100rs. Early morning or late evening is the best time for trekking. No animals just the peak and the view. Gives a social detox as not network. At some places jio will be available.

One of the must visit places. Never miss to visit this place. I found it the best place to visit in Chikmagalur.
At the peak the view is mesmerizing.
U can sit for hours and enjoy the beauty and greenery of the place.

Nice place. Mountain is little bit steep so we feel exhausted when we reach top. Better visit during evening time (around 3 pm). Visited during April month felt very cold during 5 pm onwards so better carry a shawl or jacket. Climate can vary. Carry a water bottle. Jeap is available till the starting point. The view from the top is awesome. There are lot of capturing moments. We can see the real beauty of nature. During 6 pm and all the mountains are covered with snow felt it is invisible. There are some narrow ways to step downwards also.

After trekking down there are lots of small shops available. Reasonable price for food items and little bit high price for others. Lots of animals are wandering here and there in that area.

A worth place to visit, It will be a light trekking will be taking 30 to 40 minutes to reach to the top, best time to visit is in the early morning and evening, and I believe the best season would be September to December,
Also would like to request please don't throw garbage here, bring it back and dispose on proper place

This is good place to trek, there a small waterfalls that falls from about the height of 20 feet, called Shanthi falls. It would take about 4 kms to reach the peak. There's a good view from the peak. Better to plan on a cold day, or it would be hard with those heat waves.

Scenic and serene place. Felt so much close to nature visiting this place. Strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kemmangundi

Getting here- We drove our call till the entrance. Cars are not allowed beyond main gate however bikes are allowed till Shanthi Falls.
We walked from main gate till Shanthi Falls through forest and post that went trekking up the hill for a truely mesmerizing z point view. I personally liked this than Bababudangiri and Mulliangiri views.

Food - nothing great available recommend carrying something.

Superb small hiking trail.we went the red mud trail which is harder than the small pebbles one.we experienced heavy rain while trekking to the top and fortunate to get a clear weather in next hour or so…

Location:
1. The place is very serene and it's great if you can visit it during weekdays since there are very few or absolutely no people here.
2. The start point for the trek is on the way to Raj Bhavan. There is an entry fee for vehicles (varies based on the type of vehicle).
3. The drive to the place is extremely beautiful; through winding roads and coffee estates. (P. S: The roads get narrow at a few points).
4. There is no network connectivity after a particular point on the hike.

The Trek / Hike:
1. The entire trail encompasses 3 milestones - Rock Garden, Shanti Falls & Z-Point. The entry to all 3 is the same and there is a vehicle parking spot right at the entrance.
2. Carrying sufficient water and a hat would be helpful. Full pants, closed shoes and a full-sleeve t-shirt are recommended if visiting during the wet season.
3. In case you are visiting the place during the monsoon season, it is advisable to choose a rain-free day unless you are skilled in hiking/trekking narrow paths in the rain. Beware of leeches, slippery mud puddles and rocks if visiting during the rain.
4. You shall pass 'The Rock Garden' within a few minutes of entering the place. It's a usual run-of-the-mill garden amidst trees and a few swing-and-play sets.
5. The next spot would be 'Shanti Falls'. The entire path to the waterfall is quite wide until about 100 metres before it and is a simple hike. It can be done by mostly anyone who can walk for about 30 - 45 minutes.
6. The waterfall isn't a huge one; it's a single layer of the waterfall of about 10 - 12 feet. You can stand directly under the waterfall if there are no heavy rains. MIND THE SLIPPERY ROCKS.
7. The path from the waterfall onwards is narrower, steeper and can get quite challenging (easy to moderate trek). There are multiple paths to reach the top - the most challenging being an almost vertical climb just after the waterfall. However, on going about 50 - 100 metres further there is a comparatively easier route to the top.
8. Once all the way to the top, the path gets pretty easy on the peak and has some stunning views to offer of the surrounding valleys.

Amazing view. Road is bit narrow to get here, advice too come in a cab. Trekking Is so good and amazing.

Z point is a very nice place for trekking. It would be a wonderful experience if you go for the jeep trekking. ️️

Most Beautiful spot for the photoshoot, most of the movie scenes have been shot here and an ideal location for pre-wedding shoot as well. From the top angle this spot looks exactly the letter "Z", in Z shape. You can sit on the rocks and enjoy the mist and fog covering the clouds in the evening. Visit at around 5 o'clock and spend least one hour there.

Either you can go by trekk to here or if you're going to Manikyadhara falls then on the way you can park your vehicle and walk around 1 km you will reach this place. Place is calm and one can enjoy the beauty of nature. If you're a photographer then this is the spot for you to take some candid shots. It's in between Baba Budan Giri and Manikyadhara falls.

Don't miss it when you visit Chikmagalur.
It's a 30-40 mins trek. The z point peak has an amazing view.

This Place has so many spots to visit. We enjoyed a lot while trek to the top. Its blessed by nature and well maintained by humans.

This is a Marvellous place. The trek path was easy at start (Upto shanti falls) and from middle it's very narrow and risky but can experience beautiful views. Weather is unpredictable here and it rains suddenly, it is better to carry an umbrella / rain coat &better to wear shoes. If it rains can't see anything
but can enjoy the foggy weather. Mornings & Evenings is the best time to trek. No shops around this place, so carry food and water with you.

#if you've fear of Heights then avoid this place & hike upto Shanti falls is easy and from there it’s risky.
#Be careful while going to rock garden it has leeches.
# Carry salt along with you to get rid of leeches leaches.

Amazing experience. One of the best short treks. Best time to start trek is around 3pm and to watch sunset and return back by 6.30-7pm. The trek begins with entrance to z point and waterfalls. You need to walk around 1-1.30hr to reach Z point and 30-40minutes to reach waterfalls. The trails are clear. Carry salt water /dettol to keep away from leaches. Weather is very uncertain and can rain suddenly, it is advisable to carry an umbrella or have a rain coat. Avoid slippery chappals / sandals wear shoes. Shoe can also be helpfull as it won't expose bare foot directly to leaches. Views are breath taking.

It was a worth to visit the Z point, it's 3 km trekking, nice view, on the way u can see shanthi falls. Please carry some food and enjoy the view, please don't dump the garbage or plastic bottles.

This place is amazing, breath taking view. The road is quite narrow, muddy. Foggy weather, windy surrounded by greenary n little water falls on the way. Be careful of Leaches while trekking. This is heaven.

Easy trek. View is amazing during monsoon season. Lush greenery and a small falls on the way to Z point will make you visit again!

Its beautiful, on the way you will cross Shanti falls. Trekking trails are easy and easily identifiable. Better plan to go during Monsoon season to enjoy the greenery and moving clouds. No entry charges, however you may have to pay parking charges. Total trek time will be 2-3Hrs. On the way back you can have your food at Jungle & Lodge resort restaurant. You can also explore evening sunset view point.

Amazing place trekking about 2km best for beginners, best time September to January, beware of leaches,

If you wanna view this point then visit during summers, I have visited during monsoons and couldn't see anything but I enjoyed the weather and foggy surroundings.

Absolutely thrilled, the hights we were at. We didn't exactly reach zpoint, but the view was worth reaching. It was fun and lifetime memory.

Great experience to have during summer and foggy season. Both you should experiment for the relaxed feeling and excitement. During winter don't neglect leech bites and always carry salt or dettol. No covid restrictions in place currently. I believe this will continue until 3rd wave lockdown

Kemmangundi / Z point is a heavenly place to visit.
Z point is not a place it’s just a name of the peak or we can call it as view point.
Leaches are the main problem in this trek.
10- 15 km area is covered in this trek.
Several small waterfalls can be seen in between!
The wind at the top of z point will be so forcefull so that one can’t stand steadyly.
Please wear a proper gear to these types of trek to prevent inguries

Getting here: You can take your own car all the way till the entrance of Z-point. The parking area near the entrance is quite limited. So, go here early if you want to get a good parking spot. From the entrance gate, it's a fairly easy hike till Shanti falls and from there, the hike path gets a bit narrow and also the hike path curves along steep edges of the hills here. It's still an easy to moderate hike but one must be a bit careful about the edges, that's all.

Hike distance: Total distance from entrance gate to the peak is around 2.5 Km but till Shanti falls, you can go in Jeep. From Shanti falls, the peak of Z-point is about 1 Km.

Things to note:
1. In rainy season, things get a bit slippery around the hike path and also you could be welcomed by some leeches. So carry some salt/bug spray for leeches if you are going in rainy season.
2. Sunrise is the best time to be here. So, get here early.
3. It's generally very windy here. You might want to bring along with you a light jacket/hoodie to keep you warm.
4. Not many food options around here. So, pack something from home and carry water bottles with you if you want to keep yourself satiated.

Woah, the first place to visit in chickmagalur I would say, if u want to treak across its probably the best.

The entrance for this Z - point peak is inside kemmannugundi garden. For kemmannugundi garden the entry fee will be of 100₹.
You can see boards guiding you to the entrance point. Z-point is for visible from kemmannugundi garden. But if you want to take breathtaking view, you should treck for 2.5- 3 kms.it s a very easy treck. You can have a view of Shanti falls on the way. Sunset is preferred.

Need a vehicle to reach till the base. Trek/hiking would be 2-3 km with Shanti falls on the way. A short and simple trek will lead to a breath-taking view

Awsome place to visit with a bunch of nature and adventure enthusiasts. Best time to visit would be post monsoon August to november

Must visit place as it is outside the town of Chikmagalur. During weekends and Mullayanagiri peak will be extremely crowded.his is one the rare places in Chikmagalur which has not gained full popularity yet. Best time to visit would be from October to February during evenings to watch the sunset. If you are walking at a normal pace you will be able to reach the Z-point peak by 45 minutes from the trek start point. You will encounter a falls in between which is quite nice. Be aware that there will be lot of leeches if you are trekking during monsoon. Better to carry salt as a precaution.

When people say Chikmagalur, the first thing that pops up in mind is Mullayanagiri and the areas surrounding that place. Very rarely people dare to venture in new areas and discover things which are not already listed on some travel website.

Z - point is one of those places, which are off the radar and still relatively unscathed by the problems of population. Let me begin by providing a little background to this trek. Z - point was part of a biking excursion in which we planned on staying in Kemmangundi and exploring the nearby areas. Z - point was under those. Kemmangundi is the last point of Chikmagalur after which there are only two places. One is Hebbe falls for which there is a separate safari + hike and the other one is Z - point.

Things to carry:

1) Shoes are a must for this hike. You need as much grip on your soles as possible. The trail is very narrow and there are pebbles on the way. So get shoes with nice grip and go carefully on the trail.

2) Carry some water bottles. The point after you enter jungle is totally off charts and there is not a single sign of human life there. The trek along with the ride is going to take a total of about 3 hours so it's advisable to carry your own water bottles.

3) Camera and spare batteries. You would definitely want to capture the beauty of this place. I myself took hell lot of pictures after I got comfortable of the narrow trail and even recorded how walking on that trail felt like.

My life experience. Lovely and beautiful mother nature but bit risky but too adventures. Best for adventure lovers

A small trek route of around 2.5 kms distance. The trek route is very easy as elevation is less but slippery and small. Don't wear slippers or any footwear without any grip. You can get a good view of the nearby hills from the top point. Gates will close at 6 pm and after that hiking is also difficult because of no visibility. Carry cap or sunglasses as it's very sunny out In the top.

Awesome trekking spot. And view is one of the best in karnataka.best time is winter if u really like the chill of a hill station. Its about 2-3 kms hike from where u can park ur vehicle. And not much shops around so carry what u need before u reach the spot. U need to be careful because the trail can be slippery and narrow at few points. Wouldn't recommend it for aged people. Nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts don't miss this one.

A serene and quiet trek with not many people coming in even on a weekend due to it being nestled away in the western ghats. The usual weekend crowd travel to chikmagalur town and head back. Only those who have kemmangundi in mind specifically would venture out here. The trek in itself is quite beautiful with narrow stretches at certain parts that define the path to the final Z point, which as the name says, is a point shaped like the letter Z.
