My culinary experience at Aavi Restaurant in Panampilly Nagar left me with mixed feelings. Although the taste of the food is average, compliments and interior decoration increase the quality. But I can't help but feel like I'm underserved and need more staff. All in all, my overall opinion leans towards a positive experience.

We went in restaurant Thursday, for our lunch, menu items not available in the restaurant. Also, we wait more than 20 min for our food. Very disappointed with the service otherwise the food is ok.

The place offers very authentic and delicious Kerala cuisine. We went in on Sunday, probably due to the crowding and our timings, many items in the list were not available. Also, by the time our orders came any additional requirement was not met due to scarcity of item. Not happy with that but otherwise the food is great.

Aavi is a simple and homely place for delicious, quickly served and budget friendly traditional Kerala meals. Whether with family, office collegues or grabbing a quick bite single, the hospitality and super prompt service never disappoint you. A high five rating from me for sure. Enjoy

Pathetic place I've visited in my life. The ambience was good but the food was worst. Total waste of money. If you want to get good food stay away from this restaurant.

Aavi used to have very good dishes in past. But their quality of food as well as service degraded badly now.

Recently I visited the restaurant and ordered meals for lunch. Rice was not at all cooked properly and was hard like stone. Curries were not at all tasty and substandard.

Service is mediocre and horrible. But cost of food is on higher side. Their "Aavi Veg Special Meals" costs 105 rupees which is not at all worthy for the money you pay.

Loved the ambience and the set up. The customer service was also good. But didn't like the food that much. It's was fresh but the taste didn't appeal to me but the others did like.

Food served very late, chicken had a rotten smell n we returned it but there were not even an apology from their side. We spoke to the manager as well. This post is to project the incident to the higher authorities. After all we visit a reputed restaurant for safe n good food which was not addressed.

Visited at aavi panampilly nagar today for dinner, had appam and fish curry, it was just awesome, superb.guys keep it up

We regular at ootupura restaurant, but for change, we visited aavi on top floor, ordered, aavi appam, chicken fry, veg stew. No words just delicious food. Good service very fast and quickly, staffs are very friendly.thank u aavi

Pothichor which is the main dish everyone prefers during the lunch hours is good. But I feel they should give some gravy also along with it and increase the quantity of the curries they provide along with the pothi. Rest it's a good dish for lunch with good quantity of rice

Happend to visit this place while on a trip to kochi recently as one of our friends recommendation. Would give 5 stars for the ambiance. On food would give 4 stars
Tried thier famous pothichor n kozhi porichad. Taste was good though. Quantity could have been better. Manager Jackson was really polite and knew how to handle customer well. Even though it was busy time, he was managing the services really well. Found him friendly.

Place to visit revisit and revist.the food is amazing especially pothichoru, chicken porichath with ghee rice. Friendly bunch of staffs especially Manager Jackson. Kudos guys

I ordered poricha kozhy and chappathy last night for takeaway. Poricha kozhy was not fresh and seems to have been fried more than once. The meat was not at all soft and couldn't remove from the bones. Gravy given with it was rotten with a bad smell. Even the chappathy was not fresh. So all items given was bad and seems to be from leftovers.
This was not expected from Aavi Restaurant.

I don’t understand why there are so many 5 star reviews. I felt nothing good at all about the food.
One of the worst appam I was ever had, chicken curry was bland, and mathi fry lacked any flavour. This is nowhere close to the real kerala cuisine.

I had pothichoru from the restaurant. The food is a waste.they are charging 120 RS. No taste at all

It looks clean and hygienic place but taste and quality of food provided is really horrible. We were not satisfied with their meals.

Nice place but more so for the younger generation. Food is good and so is service. A bit crowded with couriers of food delivery people taking up a lot of space. Not an upscale place. The whole wooden flooring creaks as people walk around. Parking is not always easy.

The Appam was not fresh. The vegetables stew was watery. The fish curry was spicy and average.

Aavi is located on the first floor above Gokul vegetarian restaurant. The whole floor shakes if any one walks. Does feel safe at all.

The name Aavi which translates to steam immediately brings to mind the thought of authentic Kerala food being cooked. Truth be told it is the name which prompted me to try this place at first. The place has a unique ambience with bamboo theme and open hall. It is one the first floor of the building the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.

The Aavi Promise board mentioned in the restaurant says that neither preservatives nor ajinomoto has been added. Going by the rush, taste and quality of food here I buy that.

It is a non AC restaurant. But the place has sufficient number of fans and you feel not feel hot while inside the place.

The food is moderately priced and the taste is decent.

The flagship product of this restaurant seems to be Ilapothi chooru. Opening this sent me on a nostalgic journey to childhood days. Hot, steamed rice and curries, Omlet, Fish fry, Chutneys and Pickles wrapped in slightly toasted banana leaves.

If I have a give a negative mark it will be for the service. A tad slow and wait time is more.

Heard a lot about this place, finally went to check it out.
First if all, the restaurants name coincides with the type of atmosphere. Very much of aavi.it will be like sitting inside a furnace. The ambience is good though, but the heat just ruined it.
Coming to food- we ordered pothi chor and erachichor. It was delicious, but suddenly in of the pothis we found something which shouldnt be there. Informed the staff regarding it. Didn't make a fuss.
That one incident, became one bitter experience.

Aavi is one of the good reasturants that is available for lunch at Panampilly Nagar. Ilapothi chooru is a highlight and icon dish of aavis. Kerala rice with pickle, omlet, fish fry, thoiran and a curry will be packed in banana leaf. The aroma while opening this packet will fill your mind and if you can have a beef varattiyathu with that then you have almost reached heaven. Value for money. Must try
