Abad Harmonia - Resort in Kovalam

A hidden gem. It's truly hidden.finding the destination is beyond the capabilities of maps. But the locals are super-helpful. They'll direct you to the "resort". Overall, nice place, especially suited for families (the kids will love the swimming pool), decent accommodation, verdant environment.

A secluded place with an ambience of its own. This place is a bit difficult to reach now because of some construction activities on the highway. The beach is nearby and in evening if you are not swimming in the in the in house swimming pool, you can take you leisure listening to the beach.
The restaurant is okay with a reasonable assortment of victuals. The room has the usual amenities you would associate with such a resort. An item noticeably lacking in the cottage anyway was a locker to keep your wallet. The refrigerator could have been better. But the environs compensate fairly.
As with most resorts the parking is okay.

Service is good and staffs aare all very helpful specially George the man served good food

Excellent hospitality from the front desk to the room boys.
Restaurant offers the best food, both buffet and alacarte. Dining hall service is very homely with Anoop and George being very attentive and accommodative.

Great location with a loooong beach nearby. One end of the beach has rocks and shrubs and we can enjoy a beautiful sunrise from there.
The property also very beautiful with greenery and a large swimming pool.
But the rooms were in a really bad condition. Construction of rooms are good but felt like it lack maintenance. Would love to visit the place again.

This place is little far from Beaches (3 beaches Light house beach, Kovalam beach, Sea rock beach) but extremely close to another beach (300meteres away only)
and Padmanabh swamy temple (Approx 20km)

About the property: - Amazingly maintained property with two different type of cottages and most of them have scenic beauty
In front of them, Flowers, plants, grass, jazz, coconut and mango tress etc etc.

About the restaurant- Staff was professional while talking and understanding your needs and serving you the food with etiquette you expect

About the staff-All type of staff with whom we interested with from starting to end was good and professional.

Resort is nice but the location is too far from the beautiful beaches of Kovalam. Though resort has a beach nearby but it is mostly occupied by local fishermens.
Food.you will not get North Indian taste here.

Food was very good.ambience was so good with a very good view.chef Ajesh and in charge George were best at their duty.

We had wonderful time here. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Hospitality is great! Mr. George is a great and humble servant!

A budget resort for the average traveller. We visited the property with 3 families with kids in December 2021. The place is child friendly. The rooms were neat. However, post lockdown, the resort is not so well maintained as is the story of all resorts across the Country. The other negatives were the cottages within the property were under renovation adding to a bit of dust. Further, the public roads leading to the property were pathetic. The best things you will enjoy are the food and pool facility in the property. The beach is walkable distance from the property. If you are planning to visit the property, it is better to hold back for a month or two until the cottages are renovated. Worth a visit!

Resort is ok but far from beach. Untasty food with high price. No hotels nearby. To have good food u have to move 5/7 km. Kovalam beach is 6 km away from here. Povar boating is 6 km away. Taking room here is extra cost of taxi to go to beach and any other attraction. No emergency medical shops or health center nearby. Very bad surrounding.
Lose of money. No beach nearby as they say. Its fishing boat resting point. Very bad place. If ur coming to enjoy ur trip plz avoid this resort its make u somuch extra lose of money

The property is beautifully maintained and is very comfortable. The staff ensured that we had a very cozy stay there. We were there for 3 days and we enjoyed every single moment. My elder son loved playing in the pool. We all enjoyed the delicious food the resort had prepared for us. The staff members were very courteous and helpful. Mr. Vinod and Mr. George, in particular, were wonderful hosts. We will recommend this property to anyone who would like to have a peaceful and quiet stay. The distance of the property from other commercial centres is also an added advantage.

The resort is good, but the rooms we got had some minor issues with the electric appliances. May just be a temporary issue but caused hiccups on an otherwise good stay.
The restaurant on the other hand is excellent, got some good food as per our tastes. Special mention of George from the restaurant, he provided pleasant service while we were there.

Hotel Surrounding is awesome as it's clean and green every where. Food quality is perfect. Mr. George and Chef from food department serves you delicious and tasty food. They listens your food choice carefully.

Most pathetic property of Abad. Very badly maintained resort. Dont even consider this as your last option also. Very poorly maintained rooms, dirty corridor. Chair, Table, Fridge, Telephone everything is broken. The condition of reception itself will make you to cancel your booking. You will not get the same experience which you get from other properties of Abad. So think before booking. Avoid if possible.

A robbery occurred from my bag while staying in this hotel. I advise all travellers to never come to this hotel. If it happened once, it can happen again and again.

Excellent service, very good staff. The pool is very good. Morning breakfast liked very much. Good choices of food and the room service also excellent. Overall much loved the stay.

Abad Harmonia is for you if you want to enjoy a quiet serene weekend surrounded by lush greenery and a beautiful beach. (Azhimala Shiva Temple is nearby this-4.5kms approx) Property is so quiet and calm and it is well maintained. Rates are really feasible too. Staffs are really cordial and helpful. I need to mention George who is in charge of restaurant. He made us feel like we are sitting in the comfort of our own home. Restaurant is really beautiful and well maintained. And foods are awesome too. Loved every bit of it. Hoping to visit again soon:)

Abad Harmonia is a value-for-money resort in Kovalam area in walking distance from Adimalathura Beach. The place is simple and neat, with a large swimming pool, food is also very good, staff is professional and offers great service. Overall good experience!

Beautiful place gryt place to stay, When there is any offer from abad don't go they are compromising on the complimentary, breakfast spread for us was so narrow

Nice, serene stay with good food at affordable rate. Other than pool, yoga centre and ayurveda centre, there is no further things to do inside the compund, but beach is nearby, just 10 minutes walk from there.

Chill.place.lacks certain amenities and some are in poor condition.not properly maintained.food price is out of this world.

This is good property. Lots of parking space, big swimming pool which is open and water is good too. Does not smell like chlorine. They have hammock by the pool too. Restaurant is also very big and they prepare good north indian as well as South indian food. Breakfast buffet has eggs, omlette, bread, uttapam, Sambhar, idly, vada, coffee, tea, cornflakes, watermelon, pineapple etc on daily basis. But they also make chole bhature, parathe, matar ki sabji and other north indian cuisines on different days.

We stayed at Abad harmonia for a day.

Corona precautionary measures were taken care during the check in.

Wondered why the resort management dont put up a board which help people to identify the resort. There was a board which was kept a bit inside from main road and its difficult to catch attention to this one. We missed the resort location twice, as there wasnt any clue of having a resort while passing through the road.

Cottage facing pool was what we chose to stay, which was a really good decision. Cottages looked pretty but furnitures inside felt like it required refurbishing. Rooms arent so sunfilled during day time, but you have got plenty of windows to open and feel the surroundings. Pool is good and they informed its clorinated on daily basis.

Food is something we liked a lot in previous Abad locations we stayed, but this time it was quite disapoiting. We had lunch from the resort which wasnt a good decision we felt. Kerala traditional items itself lacked proper taste and also please dont expect to get proper veg kerala meals. Not sure if dinner buffet is what management mostly look into, as there werent much people they expect for lunch. We didnt feel like trying buffet there and hence it was skipped. Positive part is that staff at Restuarent was good.

Parking space is not so big, but security helps us with that.

Children's play area is there with two swings and a slide.

Local beach is nearby and also the Azhikkal temple.where you get to see the big Siva statue. But thats a crowded place in evenings.

I loved the stay in cottage because of the serene environment the resort provides, but definitely food needs improvement. Also management need to look into refurbishing.

Affordable luxury in one word.
It's an ayurvedic themed 3 star property. A few cottages and apartments are provided. Rooms are around the central pool. Not so vast yet enough privacy is provided.
The rooms are styled in a nature- friendly way. Clay tiles on floor, wooden furnishing and cupboards. It's full of lush green.lot of trees and bushes all around the property.
Restaurant is a well lit large hall with adequate social distancing. You have to order beforehand as food is freshly prepared. They will call back once it's ready. It's also due to the prevailing covid protocol.
Food was good. Menu is vast. Continental, local, north indian to choose from. Staffs were so friendly and ready to help you at any cost.

Tip: Call directly to the property to book the room. You will get better deals than any other websites.

This is a beautiful little resort about 3 mins away from a local beach. With tonnes of trees, lush greenery, and sparkling blue pool, it's a sight for the sore eyes! There's plenty parking as well! We were greeted at the reception with welcome drinks along with the mandatory temperature check and sanitizer! There's a small library at the reception as well! Our room (room type: superior) was nice and big with a big balcony overlooking the pool with cane chairs to relax. The rooms have a pleasant lemongrass scent. Our room was equipped with a mini bar, kettle, tea/coffee caddy, hair dryer, and some really nice toiletries! The beds are super comfortable! The staff is extremely sweet and swift! The service is prompt! The food is awesome - be it the breakfast spread or in-room dining! You'll get a good selection of veg, non-veg food items from various cuisines. Overall I was extremely happy with the stay and if I'm coming back to Kovalam, I'm definitely staying here!

Resort is Good, but far from Kovalam beach. Nearest beach is local and not clean. Ac in All rooms are noisy. 305 Ac is not working well. Food is good one.

I have visited Abad in Munnar and Thekkady as well, and I would give both of them 5 stars, but this Abad while being good enough still needs some improvement.

However like other Abad properties it has awesome food, courteous staff and neat and clean premises. And of course not to mention the lush green environment.

Some work needs to be done in lobbies and some upgradation in rooms like smart lock facility, better furniture.

The hotel facilities are good. Rustic construction with all modern facilities. The food was yummy. The staff was very kind and sympathetic. The services were excellent. Only drawback was the location. It is quite internal in a residence area. Going out for a walk at night was a bit scary. Apart from that the overall stay was pleasant.

Best hotel to stay at near kovalam beach. The amenities as well as ambience were good. Specially resort has its own beauty of greener. Everywhere you will find a nature a great beauty of earth & The resort is located just 5 minutes walk to chowara beach. Food was also good in taste. In short if you want to relax or enjoy. Lovely hotel, short walk to local beach (with great fish restaurant!) But quite away from the main kovalam area, but very accessible by tuktuk!

Overall a good looking resort with quite old rooms not well maintained at all. Service part is not bad bad (however its hard to make the staffs understand as they are non english speaking), but the room they provided did not have a proper shower even. The doors were tough to lock. The towels provided were dirth too. Vast difference between the pictures and the real rooms in the property. Also the location is not that great, with too much crowd in a small property and neither the beach is quite near. Not at all reccomended. Except the food quality is acceptable.

Humble staff, good food and in house delicacies, beautiful location, nearby beach sunset was awesome. It feels like home away from home!
