When we sat, nobody came and attended
And when we called the waiter
He was giving whole lot of attitude!
We just left cause there are better places around than dealing with attitude. We came to have a quiet birthday dinner.but guess what they couldn’t do that properly and spoilt the whole mood.

We went for dinner and breakfast there. Food was and tea was good. Highly recommend…Look for Mr. Rahul.he was very polite and served us very quickly.

Only problem we faced during dinner time is with seats as most of them are already reserved.

We ordered North Indian veg food. It’s was bland and not tasty at all. The roti’s I ordered never arrived. Don’t recommend at all.

Very bad. Huge discrimination towards Indians. Not at all responsive in taking the order or serving the order. Foreigner and Indians give the same rupee which has Gandhi photo or digital money which is definitely rupee. Try to behave and serve in the same way for Indians as well. Not recommended at all

We ordered a huge fish, the guy showed us the fish before, which came out of the water today. It came with salad, rice, chips, there were two of us and we didn't finish. It was delicious on an abnormal level. The whole pleasure cost 1800 rupees, an expensive price for India, but totally worth the experience, and compared to a funny country

We were a group of four and they had plenty of available spots for dinner at 7pm. The starters were decent but not great, all the fish (calamari and prawn) we ordered was deep fried. As a main course we had chicken korma and gadai paneer. The chicken korma was very sweet, we had the feeling they cook as in Europe, not authentic. We've definitely had better kormas in other places in India. The paneer was very good. The restaurant also offers beer for 300 rupees. They have all the cuisines, which for me personally is not a good sign. Overall place for tourists.

Atmosphere is very nice and view is also very nice……. The waiter doesn’t respond properly and won’t hear ur order clear……
Food is actually average and over hyped…. It may suit u if u want an European type or italian type…. But for Indian foods u can search other restaurants

This place is amazing good prices friendly staff, fresh tasty food and they even bake all there own pastries and cakes. Highly reccomend one of our favourite places in our 1.5 month stay in varkala we ate here around 20 times never disappointed

Nice food. Was crowded when we were there resulting in the waiter missing one of the dishes we ordered. We weren't billed for it so no issues

Visited this place after watching many vloggers instagram reels. Expectations were very high. The view is awesome. Plenty of dine in space. The service is very poor. We ordered a Bacon and ham sandwich which was very dry. Next thing we ordered was a chicken sizzler which was served with rice and sautéed veggies which was good but not recommended. Despite repeating the order, they missed our prawns fried rice which was ordered by my friend. There were only a few staff to attend during lunch time where the cafe was almost full.

Had breakfast with friends, ordered English, French and Abba special breakfast, all were very good and tasty.
Not so expensive.
Service was very fast and great atmosphere to dine in, they even have candle light for dinner.

Pathetic service. Ordered food and had to wait almost 40+ minutes to get the ordered item. Initially they brought something which we didn't order, later we pointed it out and the server had to again place the order and bring our food 20 mins later.

Having lunch sitting opposite to cliff was a pleasant experience. Food was average. We ordered momos which could have been better. And food was little pricey too

It's really a nice ambience. It will be located in the Varkala cliff.we are going there in Weekend night. In cliff, it will be crowded on that day. We are getting various types of Italian and Chinese dishes. All are very good at taste and quantity wise is also good. Enjoyed a lot there. They provide sea foods also.we try only butter fish, it will be very tasty. We try one dessert, taste of that dessert is not liked by our friends. Good choice of food, excellent juices and vegetarian options, big terrace with beautiful view, it was our favourite breakfast/lunch/dinner spot in Varkala.

Pathetic behaviour from staff. This is not how you behave with customers who are able to bring in more customers. We came a little early by 7.45 am and they asked us to leave. Saying if u sit more people will come. We arent open yet and all. This requests if said in a polite manner, we can understand. But they were very rude. Management should ensure to fire such staff or best of luck doing hotel business

Amazing ambience. We were given a table in the overflow which was even better. Food was equally good. But the service we received was what stood apart from many other similar restaurants we visited. It's a must try place.

I am very satisfied with the food here. Dropped in here for lunch. The ambiance is pretty nice but the evenings get very crowded and the tables are placed so near to each other. That's something which I disliked.
Coming to the food part, they have many options, various cuisines and service is quick.
I ordered Chicken Thukpa. Oh that was too good. A big bowl of Sufi noodles with lots of shredded chicken and many veggies like cauliflower, peas, carrots and so on.
Next is Moussaka. It looks like Lasagna but is entirely different. The base is of eggplant and potatoes with chicken and baked perfectly with lots of cheese on top.
Next had Chicken Stroganoff. The rice is served separately and the quantity is good enough for two. The gravy part was so creamy and delicious. The chicken, mushroom, bell peppers are so finely cooked and flavourful. This is recommended.
Lots of varieties available in the breakfast menu as well. I feel it is worth visiting when you are in Varkala. Reasonable price & definitely good food.

Courtesy, and fresh food.we stayed there for 2 days. Had breakfast, lunch, and dinner except one break fast we skipped.
Very nice restaurant and the people

I opted for an outdoor table, ordered grilled fish and naan & it happened to be full moon day. The ambiance & the place is pretty good, compared to other shacks around the cliff.

The staff was alright & so was the waiting period (a bit longer) quite understandable.

I loved the perfectly made grillled fish & cheese naan. Will surely drop by again & recommend.

Good food and amazing ambience at this restaurant on the cliff.they have a wide variety of cusines. And a lot of seafood specials

Really good place. Friendly staff. Good ambiance. Right on the cliff. And the food was yummylicious. We had butter fish grilled, along with beef chilly and chicken momos. All were really good. Along with a few drinks. One can just sip on the drinks and chill in the restaurant listening to the sound of the waves.

Has a beautiful view by the cliff over looking the vast ocean. Loved having brunch here. Would recommend everyone to try the Pepper steak (asked for chicken), with rice and buttered veggies, and the lasagna! With ofcourse beer:)

Not good. If you want to have European food, don't go here. The spinach lasagne was mostly sauce and cheese, after 1 bite you'll already be full. The meatballs were more like falafel balls. The peperoni pizza didnt have the 'real peperoni' but was good enough. Unfortunately the mocktails were disappointing as well. The piña colada was very watery and the mojito was way too sour. Won't go here again.

Abba restaurant was a good spot for having your breakfast, lunch or dinner. It’s on the cliff itself and the food was nice as well. The team was professional and give good suggestions as well.

Food they provide is really hygienic and tastes good. Nominal pay for quality food. One good place to have coffee with a beautiful sunset view.

Without doubt best restaurant around varkala cliff.food is cosy but they justified the cost by their taste and ambience.

I am rating this five star because of the servers. Their enthusiasm makes us feel very good. Their fish tandoori (red snapper) is a must try.

I wish we had gone here sooner- the greatest fried calamari, delicious spring rolls, and one of the best paneer curries I've eaten. Their desserts were mediocre at best but the food in general was definitely way above average and quite possibly the best restaurant on that cliff edge. The dumplings (momos) were good and the noodle soup was made well. I was stuffed to the brim by the time I stood up:)

The one word that comes to mind while describing the place is "cozy". Despite not having over the top decor or wild paraphernalia to amp up the place, the ambiance is excellent, especially at night. We had breakfast from Abba, and the steak in the steak breakfast was very tender and the coffee is really good too. We had a sandwich as well and I believe they bake their own bread, I also noticed a pasta roller in the kitchen which was an exciting discovery!

Now, the hospitality. The servers are very polite and pleasant. They had a baby chair which was a relief, unlike some other cafes around and voluntarily distracted the bebe with toys while we gobbled down the food, and we are quite thankful for that. The detached open kitchen is a wonderful idea too. But I would advice you to watch out to the scrambled eggs as they were a bit on the watery side. Happy eating!

The food is okay but the customer service is extremely bad. They don't take accountability of their mistakes and treat you poorly.
When we spoke asked the waiter to call in the manager, he said he is the manager. When we actually spoke to the manager he said, he can't help people behave differently.
Finally we left without eating anything.
Never have I faced such experience at any other restaurant.

Hey it was a nice time with abbas restaurant the food is good and quality but should care much more. And the waiter service so so much great.

It's a famous restaurant that you'll find in Varkala. Go for dinner here, the food is simply yum. I don't suggest the deserts though, tried a few and didn't like any.

The ambiance here is really lovely especially at night. They have an exhaustive menu of continental food. They have great dessert options as well. We had the pizza which had a freshly prepared base which was yummy. The spaghetti was lovely too. For desserts we had the snickers bar and crepe suzette. Worth a visit.

We were frequent visitors for the 2 days that we stayed in Varkala. This is the restaurant with the best ambience in the immediate area - A fine dining experience on the beach cliff.

They have decent breakfast combos and dinner was enjoyable too. They have an extensive menu, the food was well prepared and tasted good. Service was great and wait times were well within expectations.

Definitely worth a visit.

Food ain't good! Got a burnt pancake and an old dry chocolate brownie cake location is the only good part and you need to be lucky to get a decent dish. They don't seem to goof up north indian dishes as much.

If you are looking for a pleasant place to have a good meal on the cliff, where you could hear waves hitting the rocks, it's a beautiful music in itself, ABBA is the place.prices are neither too low nor too high.
I have been here with my husband we have ordered veg musaka, pita bread, hummus, steak, sizzler with ice cream, masala papad and 3 jumbo prawns and 3 bottles of holy water (wink wink), the bill amount was pretty reasonable 2.5K. Everything we ordered was good and must try over there. Staff is courteous and professional, the food is yum yum and different from the Kerala style restaurant which serves other cuisines.

Per experience it's a must try restaurant.

Good ambience. Good food with reasonable pricing. Milkshakes and ice creams are just basic but over priced. They don't accept credit or debit cards

Great view. The food can be expensive and the medium rare steak we ordered was uncooked instead.

Below average food and service. Poor hygiene, a lizard just dropped on our table from the ceiling.

Good views and busy restaurant.

Full marks on taste, hygiene, ambience, service and location. We ate most of our meals at ABBA during our 7 days stay after trying most popular cafes around. They have an exhaustive menu, however there aren't any local cuisine options. Pricing is quite reasonable.

Probably the best restaurant along the Varakala cliff.

Location - Excellent. Nice view of beach.
Ambiance - Cosy in the afternoon and inviting at night.
Service - Prompt and courteous. Staff is friendly and well mannered.
Food - Everything was delicious and portions were good. We ordered soups, Italian options and juices. Special mention to Sizzlers.

The seafood sizzler was nice. It is a little crowded but that's fine. The order takes some time to come.

Quite an overrated place at varkala. Clean, big and hygienic restaurant but lacks the taste that i was looking for. I would call this place an average one. The best thing is that they have a diverse menu and take care about allergies and other personal issue. Hospitality is great here.

Ambience is good but the food is not that great.

Burger was served with an oily patty and some salads. Tasteless

Excellent and very Nice view of beach. Prompt and courteous. Staff is friendly and well mannered. Everything was delicious and portions were good. Absolutely not to be missed by anyone traveling to the Varkala Cliff. They even have nice collection of books to look into. Enjoyed the dining experience here. Great place to chill and relax with a cup of hot chocolate or filter coffee.

Enjoy the tastiest food with best view from varkala cliff!

Good eatery I have recommended to many of my guest and friends, but the only let down is that fat oriental waiter on the fish counter extremely rude man if one is local like Indian! Da if you ask a price or ask of type of fish he will not give you a polite answer spoilt my veiw of the place I noticed his behaviour over many months I suppose the management must know.

Great view with nice restaurant. They are serving continental, Italian, beef and more. Must take reservations before you visit. Best recommended seat is in front of street. You can see sunset from there!

Wir haben hier viele Restaurants ausprobiert. Und essen seit vielen Tagen morgens, mittags und abends nur noch hier. Auch wenn viele andere auch einen echt guten Job machen.hier passt alles.

Food was very tasty, service was fantastic. There are a few reasons for giving 3 stars inspite of good food and excellent service.

1st reason I really can't understand the logic of pricing a lemon soda for Rs. 30 and a lemon juice at Rs. 90? Wondering what is the special ingredient to increase the price of the lemon juice, this is quite ridiculous.

2nd reason the restaurant is always busy with a lots of travelers, inspite of very good business, the restaurant is not accepting Card/Mobile/UPI payments. Only cash is accepted, it's even printed on their menu that they only accept cash payment. This is really annoying.

Extremely slow service
We had elderly people on our table. Asked them to make it a bit fast. It took them more than an hour.
The quality of food is also very poor. The protein was really dry in most of the chicken dishes.
Cafe Delmar is a way better option.
