Safety pin! We arrived at the place on the recommendation of a local, If you are looking to discover or visit a non-commercial spice garden, and live an authentic experience, this is the place! Abraham accompanied us throughout his incredible garden and showed us the different fruit trees and spice plants, told us about them, gave us a taste and turned the visit into a personal and unique experience.
What a quaint self made spice plantation by Mr. Abraham. This is a non commercial family owned farm so we got a personal tour. Mr. Abraham has a botanist's flair when he narrates about spices, flowers & fruits in his farm.

It's one of the famous gardens named in the bbc documentary "Around the World in 80 gardens". The tour was given by Mr Abraham himself. His passion for the plants and knowledge is clearly visible in his explanation. He showed his garden, which has various and unique varieties of spices, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. He let us taste, feel, and share stories and details of each variety. We also bought spices which are grown in their garden. He has a great personality and charm, and so does the garden. I would recommend people to visit this place and meet Mr Abraham.

Secondly, the garden is very large, just a huge variety of spices, fruits, flowers that will either bloom or will already be ripe, the leaves give a very bright aroma. The owner himself, Mr. Abraham is very well versed in the details, so the presentation is professional.
Had a brilliant tower around the plantation and saw so many different types of herbs and fruit. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a shop to buy all your spices for home and it is all very fairly priced. A must do in Kumily.

The experience of visiting a naturally grown spices, fruits and ornamental garden untouched by fancy training and pruning practices was really awesome. The guide cum owner Abraham is well versed with scientific names, English names. He is proficient in English. A must stop for plant and nature lovers.
Best experience in Kerala. Mr Abraham is quite passionate about what he does and has maintained the garden very well with almost every spice and fruit you can think of. Must visit place on your Kerala trip.
Beautiful experience! Abraham had taken us to his garden tour where we sampled every fruit possible and learned a lot. The Fact that he’s taking care of that big garden all by himself is great to know. According to me, I highly encourage everyone to go to the garden tour. When it comes to buying their spices, they’ve got best spices, even if they get any product out of their garden to sell, they are only getting genuine products, we need not really think much when buying any product from them. Genuine people. Their honey, vanilla bean and any other product is really good. And they do deliver too! Reasonable prices. I think these people are one of the genuine spice vendors in thekkady.
Very beautiful garden. The way Abraham sir explained about each plants in his 70 year old garden is definitely a mind-blowing learning experience. Looks pretty small from outside but once you get in.it's unimaginably a big space. Enjoyed the bird chirping, spicy aroma, bees buzzing, fruit flavors and many more.
Thank you Sir. Abraham - the man behind this beautiful garden ️
We were guided through the garden by Mr Abraham himself. He is extremely knowledgeable and managed to convey his love and excitement about these plants to us. I would heartily recommend this small tour to anyone who visits Thekkady.

You can ask as many questions as you want and he will happily answer them all. You can even buy plants from him and grow some at your place. Being a plant lover I absolutely loved the place.

He gave gave us samples to taste and smell.i was so over joyed. One of the most Unique and must visit places of Thekkadi! Mr. Abraham and his Son take you on a tour of their own private Rainforest flourishing with its own ecosystem of flora and fauna! It's an enriching experience for all ur 7 senses. Must Visit @ Thekkadi.
We visited the garden expecting a boring tour through the garden but boy were we pleasantly surprised! Mr. Abraham, the owner guided us through each and every plant and tree in the garden and gave us samples to smell and taste wherever possible possible. Since we had a garden back home, he also gave us a few seeds to plant. He is so knowledgeable and made the tour so interesting with all the information. To someone with no idea, the garden would look like a bunch of trees just like every other surrounding in Thekkady but every inch has a unique plant to learn about. My most favourite part of the tour was seeing the cardamom processing equipment! Our tour was longer than an hour since we got so engrossed in discussions and was totally time spent well! Must visit️
It was a nice enlightening experience. Though a small plantation Mr. Abraham had an extensive knowledge about the different species he grows in his backyard and provided us an unforgettable experience and information throughout the one hour walk with him.definitely worth a visit if ur in thekkady
HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS WITH REASONABLE PRICING. ALL SPICES THAT ARE GROWN IN KERALA AVAILABLE HERE. GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZED SHOP. EVEN RAW SANDALWOOD IS AVAILABLE. THE OWNER IS VERY FRIENDLY, GENEROUS AND GENUINE.
Mr. Abraham's garden has a fascinating collection of plants, each of which he patiently and very passionately explained about. We tasted several flavours during the visit - some were good, some strange, but all of them were interesting. We also happened upon some rare animals during the visit! It was a wholesome and rich experience. If only I can remember all the new things I learnt!
Went with my family to see the Garden. Was a wonderful experience. Mr. Abraham was so co-operative, showed us almost all the varieties of plants and enjoyed a lot.
Abraham was soo lovely when we visited, he said he wasn’t feeling his best but he still took us round his garden and showed us all his amazing plants and spices! It was so interesting and you can see his passion for his garden. We read quite a few reviews about the other gardens and how touristy they can be but this was a great experience as it was just us and Abraham, and so very authentic! We were surprised it was only 100 rupees per person as this is such a great price for the experience. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Thekkady to come and visit Abraham!
The owner is really patient to take all your questions. He also make sure the customer is well aware of what we buy. With too many options available this is an option that one can try!
Amazing place, very informative and loads of experiences. This garden is a trove of spices and Mr Abraham is not a your typical guide. He's the owner of the place who's raised this farm who walks and talks through the walk.
Witness the world's most expensive nut Taste the cinnamon leaves See how Vanilla is pollinated How is cardamom harvested and processed What are the 3 types of Tulsi
Much much more. Great time for anyone visiting Thekkady. For me it was more interesting than any other activity out there. Don't expect a large site or a farm with animals etc. No touts to sell you spurious products etc. Didn't take any pics, there are enough here already
Must visit location if anyone comes to this part of Kerala. Not only for the spice garden itself but how Mr. Abraham and his company doing their harvesting in organic method for decades.
One will have a chance to look at the various spices and ayurvedic plants. Only concern is that they are selling spices at very high prices compared to our location.
Had a very good experience today.the places has all the spices I could even think of.the guide was very good lady very knowledgeable about all the spices. Could see all the trees and the spices they yield.
Mr Abraham is a veritable treasure trove of knowledge.he had many interesting facts about the plants in his plantation, my children were fascinated by his tour which was for about 45 mins. It is a working plantation with a well, nursery for small plants and a factory for making spices. There is a shop which sells the herbs and spices grown on the plantation. He charged 100 INR per adult/children above 6yrs. He speaks many languages and is very welcoming.
Good staff! They will charge you 100rs per person! Which is s bit higher! You can buy some of the spices which is grown in this garden. They do have shop which sells spices and medicines from other places.
Best place to visit sources of spices and this garden was established in 1952 with a certificate of excellence from BBC tv and yes it was my absolute pleasure to visit the spice garden in the Periyar forest with acres of trees where spices grow with the aroma and energy never felt before.
We saw the highest betel nut tree and the largest elephant tree as well as banana and coffee trees as well with different name like arabiata and asperela
We also saw the touch me not plant I’ll put some pictures so you guys have an idea
Hope you all visit this place on your trip to Thekkady without which the trip is not complete
It's very small spice garden for which, they charge Rs100 per personfor entry and telling the names of plants. It may be the largest garden but only a small portion is allowed to see.
This beautiful organic Abraham's Spice Garden holds sessions on spice cultivation, organic farming, Ayurvedic techniques and practices, and the nutritional and medicinal values of various spices.
Nothing special to watch.its just a garden.after the guide shows u lots of plants, she will take u to the ayurvedic shop which is really worst thing in that garden.all products are very high priced.u can get all the products very cheaply form the market.totally wasted of money.per ticket costs 50 rupees.
Lovely overview given by the guide. This is a great place to bring kids along to show them the different cultivations regional to kerala along with some other flora and fauna. It was quite fascinating to touch feel and taste the different plants. The guide had good knowledge and could answer most of the questions. The spices sold here are slightly higher priced
