Adrak Summer Sand Hill Resort Vagamon

Horrible place to stay. NOT RECOMMENDED! Rooms are not maintained and have fungus/seepage on the ceilings. The floor is peeling off. No ventilation in the room and bathroom and it all feels claustrophobic. We were 3 adults sharing a room and the extra mattress that was put was in a very bad condition. (That too, it was put on the floor and there wasn't a folding bed provided.) They charge 7K per night which is equivalent to a 4 star hotel rate but it's not worth calling a 3 star hotel even! The approach road to the resort is single lane & narrow and forms part of the road leading to the pine forest area, a major tourist attraction. You will think twice before driving your car through the road honking at gaping tourists as you pass them by. Restaurant service is poor and the buffet breakfast has very limited options. The pond in the resort is full of muck and hasn't been cleaned for ages. Staying in a homestay at Vagamon would be more advisable. Book this place at your own risk.

I stayed there for 2 days. 1. Approach road is on the way to pine forest which is narrow and congested and flooded with people during peak seasons. My suggestion is to build a motrable Iron over bridge from main road to Adrak resorts which can be used till legal formalities evacuation of encroachments permitted. 2. Property needs periodic maintenance of common pathway, pool, boat etc. For this they can enter AMC with agencies concerned. 3.bathrooms and toilets can be periodically deep cleaned availing the agency services. 4. Air freshness shall be used in bathrooms and room sprays in rooms. 5. In my cottage FC1 the length of the washbasin tap was so short and water fell short of washbasin.
STAFF 1. The Manager Mr. Sathish was highly cooperative, humble and address our requests immediately. Besides help tourists in guiding about local view points and arranging jeep safari for off road places. Five stars for his performance.
2. Other counter staff, Dinning staff were polite and cooperative.
3. They face inadequate staff in dinning this needs to be addressed by the management.
All the staffs spin like TOPSPINS during peak season. Staff inadequacy to be solved.

If you are one of those most unfortunate souls you will end up having food from here. Most nauseating food at a premium price. Avoid!

We visited with family in this onam days. The road to the hotel is congested mainly due to the rush in pine valley as it is located so close to it. Staffs are good. Rooms and overall property urgently need maintenance. Stinky smell is their in rooms. Another area to improve is food, seems overpriced and also complimentary breakfast has less options. Overall the stay was good but should improve in many areas.

Very poor service lost almost 3 hrs to eat a biriyani and fresh lime. Very arrogant service

NEVER ever recommend this place. Their service is poor. We wanted hold a function there and had booked the place along with food at 12.30. I reminded them one day before with the number (37 adults and 7 children) of guests attending the function. On the day of function, we reached there by 12.20 and no food was ready. They agreed to decorate the room but nothing was done. Then, I had to give them some decoration items at the moment to deck the doom out. Finally, we started the food at 01.45, late by one hour 15 minutes. We were only 28 people though we ordered the food for 37 adults and 7 children. The food was not enough even for 15 people. The food was over in between and we had to wait for some time and the guests went off the place without having food. There was no one to serve the food at that time. They cut the meat roll to increase the number to meet all guests came. They agreed one type of wish and served a cheaper one. We had to change our rest of the journey as they took our time and they spoiled our trip. I saw some people wrangling over some other issues. It bears out that they are completely disorganized from top to bottom. Please find another venue if someone wants to hold a function here.

Reply to your irrational explanations:
1. We reached there before 12.20 and no need to lie about it. You have to keep to your words by arranging everything at the time agreed upon.
2. It is utter nonsense saying that you prepared for 44 pax. I am sharing some pictures showing that the food was finished while the guests were eating the food, and no waiters around. The guest got infuriated and left the room, then someone brought little amount of food from some other place after a long time and by the time majority of the guest went off the room, they did not get the ice cream as it was not there in the room at that time. You might be preparing some food at that time only. Usually, other catering units keep the rest of the food nearby and replenish once the serving tray is over. How come you charge for only 30 whereas you prepared for more. It alludes that you had to compromise on your invoice. We were only 28 people and I paid for 2 people extra on that note then. I am not at all keen on talking about the money, as we come prepared for the number we agreed initially, but you put forwarded the issue and needed to be clarified.
3. No one from my group informed you regarding the time to serve the food. Even if they had requested you to change the timing, you should have confirmed it with me as I am the one who spoke with you pertaining to the function. The food was not even brought to the room to serve the food soon after the cake cutting as per your claim. The food started serving 01.45. You are clever at mentioning the time AFTER 1 pm, it could be any time after 1 pm then. For more clarification on it, the member of your staff told me that the food needed to be served at 1.30 as per your information to him. He kept on calling someone regarding this as and when I requested him about the food. I strongly affirm that the food started serving after 01.45 only. NO NEED TO LIE ABOUT IT.
4. Someone brought little amount of food after majority of the guest left the room and that was the left over.
5. No need to talk about so called music system and lighting as I did not want those. You already mentioned that the hall is complimentary, and I categorically asked you about any extra payment other than the amount per person at time of booking and you said nothing. We are not expecting or not needed without you organizing what ordered for.
You haven’t mentioned about cut meat roll and the cheaper fish type. Hope you come up with some nonsense for that as well.
Anyways, irrefutably YOUR SERVICE IS POOR and no need to explain it away.

Hidden heaven in Vagamon, walkable distance to pine forest. This is the only property inside pine forest. Spacious rooms, ample parking, good restaurant, great view from all rooms. Located in great place and easily accessible to other attractions. It's spreaded in large area, long green walkways, pond, photopoints, view points, birds everything created great ambiance together.
Rooms are good with all facilities but badly need maintenance. Bed lights were not working, TV under repair, front office can be more hospitable in attitude and way of communication.

Scenic of this resort is not as in the pictures shown in the description.ponds in our locality is way better than this. Its so difficult to take reverse when other vehicle enters.

Please dont choose if you are coming with family, Have a bar nearby so not at all good for family.staffs are so irresponsible overall service is very bad and not worth for money.

Rooms are so decent, neat n spacious. Great value for money. Plenty of parking space. Good location. Somewhat difficult to reach this hotel. Ve to pass through the narrow road full of shopping stalls n people near pine valley. I stayed in a double deluxe room with a pond/pool view.

My room had significant black mold on the walls, which is a health concern, and for which the manager wouldn't offer a price reduction. They don't accept credit cards, at least not international ones. The food from the restaurant is good, nice view from the balcony of the property.

"Summer Sand resort" the perfect name because food tastes like sand. I had the worst buffet lunch this week.
The sweet corn soup was extremely salty and the gobi manchurian was as hard as a rock. The veg pulav was just clumpy uncooked rice with some boiled veggies- flavorless and tasteless and the paneer masala was just few pieces of paneer in a gallon of watery liquid. And there was a salad which was nothing but few veggies chopped- literally no salt or seasonings. The only good stuff to have was ice cream because it was store bought and few others like pickle & papad.
The plus side is that the resort is in a good location and the surrounding & ambience is good.

Parking space available. Service was good. Restaurent is there. 200m to pine forest. Beer n wine parlour is there outside courtyard. Recommend stay here. 3-4 areas are there to visit nearby.

Excellent location. The resort is incredible. The rooms are spacious and you feel relaxed in that environment. The location is in the mid of pine forest. Wonderful experience. The service is fabulous. I recommend that in Vagamon, the best place to stay is Adrak Summer Sand Hill Resort.

Nice resort, camp fire DJ, buffet, Rooms are clean and nice. Nallukettu, 8kettu rooms also available. Environment is good and looks like it's built during British rule.

Staffs are so kind, friendly and helpful. Food is taste good and little pricy. Need to add some more food items in complimentary breakfast. Ambience of restaurant is good. Ambience of resort is very nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Need to improve the indoor games materials. There is a pound in resort and have pedal boat, need to improve it. Enough car parking space. Way to resort is very narrow and one side full of toys shops because after this resort only pine forest is located. Jeep safari - Outside the resort it is available. We can also take a ride or resort also arrange if we required.

Overall we have enjoyed the staying.

Worse experience on New Year’s Eve! Imagine paying 10000 for a room with no window? Reception staff (Prince and Sandeep) were super rude acted up on us rejecting their cab service. Room service was slow, it took them 4 hours and 5-6 visits to give us towels, AC remote etc. Food was even worse and costly…Good Morning & Director did help us out but that was after we wasted 3-4 hours on brawling with them….: (

Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff, they are very helpful. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. Must recommend place. Enough parking space everything was good. THE FOOD TASTE TOP-NOTCH. Overall 5 out of 5

One of the best resorts in vagamon.
Outdoor ambiance was awesome.
Got room facing the pond which was a soothing experience living close to nature.

Restaurant and food service were very good. Breakfast was included with our booking. The food tasted good and was not cheap serving since breakfast comes free with room booking.

Have enough parking area in front of the resort, however, the entry road from the main road is a bit congested, which will make it a bit difficult for non-experienced drivers to reach the resort. Overall i'm satisfied with my stay here.

It was our second visit, one of the best n clean resort esply rooms.

Awesome experience of staying there. Excellent hospitality and food was amazing, Location is like Heaven on earth, Excellent service by staff so kind and polite. Most importantly everything is affordable. If I go next time my choice would be here only.

The hotel is HIGHLY UNCOPERATIVE regarding service. Inspite of pre booking, the staff denied room service, for a silly reason of more guests on weekend. Resorts provide services to guests, that is included in the package details, and guests pay for it. A reason of too many guests is not justified for denial of services. Very poor management of services.

Happen to stay at this place during my trip to Kerala during Onam holiday. This was recommended by one of my friend. Very good place, neat and clean room, nice ambience, good food. Also the staff was very courteous and helpful. I stayed there for 2 days and didn’t feel like coming back. Excellent experience with the stay and weather.

Will come back again and will also recommend to all my friends and family!

The best resort in Vagamon, with a serene atmosphere, top-notch food, and exceptional service

Overpriced rooms. Water kettle was not in working condition. The switches were not in proper condition. Ambience is the only thing it's ok for me. No proper maintenance is done in this property.

Very arrogant and uncooperative staff.
The resort was fully booked so they denied the services to room and went the easy way- the ‘buffet’ way for dinner as well. On requesting also, they just simply denied. Location is good, but overall a sad and unsatisfactory experience.

We got a free upgrade to ettukettu which is a standalone room with all facilities and amble privacy. Superb ambience and property. Food is ok.must improve management and maintain the property well as it have high potential.
Recommended.

Very conveniently located near the pine valley. Nice rooms and very excellent food. Options are limited but the food served is very good. Need to make reservations well in advance to get a good offer.

The worst property!
I can say do not choose this hotel for your holidays or any other occasions to enjoy.because there was no proper informative staff and many things to share.i would Share just one experienc, me and my friend family membership together 7 of us including 3 kids we ordered dinner at 6.30 until 8.30 to have food by the time our kids are slept already! Then we drived to vagamon city to get the food at the raining time and also I hope there is no genset because no power from 2 am to 6 am very poor management they ruined our special occasion.
