Akkulam Boat Club

This is a very good park in Trivandrum. The entry and usage of many things are not free here, but still this is a very fine location to go with kids or even the adults alone can go there as many rides are there for adults as well

Calm and beautiful place to be enjoying with family aand loved ones. Adventurous Games are also there for entertainment. Lot of games and entertainment facilities and children's parks are available

Renovated recently. Personally I think it is wise to open the centre till 11pm, hence the negative image of the area can be changed. Also parking may be an issue in peak days

കുടുംബവുമായി സമയം ചിലവഴിക്കാൻ പറ്റിയ സ്ഥലം. പക്ഷേ ഒരു 11pm വരെയെങ്കിലും തുറന്നാൽ നന്നായിരുന്നു. രാത്രി ആയാൽ ഈ പ്രദേശം സാമൂഹ്യ വിരുദ്ധരുടെ വിഹാര കേന്ദ്രം ആണെന്ന ചീത്ത പേര് മാറ്റാൻ അത് ഉപകരിക്കും. അത് പോലെ തിരക്കുള്ള ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കിംഗ് ഒരു പ്രശ്നം ആണ്

Beautiful calm place. Good spot to visit with your young ones. Some adventure activities are also there at the top area. Air force museum is another attraction.

Not much to look for, but it's a calm and peaceful atmosphere to go and spend some time with ur loved ones.

I go there for swimming with my kid. Ok ok for 100 inr for adults and 50 inr for kids. Hopefully they maintain it better in coming days.

Totally unsafe place. Had the worst experience from here including moral policing, helmet robbery, vehicle damaging.

The most polluted lake, all high raised buildings including flats and even hospitals have their sewage pipes connected to this lake.

Waste is the main negative point. The lake has to be cleaned immediately. Otherwise it's a better place

I usually spend my evening there to watch sunset. Really nice and peaceful palce. But the problem is lots of lots of plastic wastes. Authorised department should take some serious action to clean all the waste and place some waste bins.

Nice place with calm surrounding. A nice spot for couples to hangout for peace. Boat club is now not active ao no boating available but the park is active, the lake is mostly covered with mosses and grass.

It would be the best if it is maintained well.you can still enjoy evenings there with this very limited facility.stray dogs, under maintained premices are really the bad points.

A very calm and beautiful place to relax from work life, and the tea stall near by is just amazing.just come sit with cup of horlix and just relax

Very pleasant place. Wind blowing from the lake‌. There are a lot of trees and shade. Lunch: A great place to open space dine. Come with your lunch boxes

Don't even call it a boat club. The government should feel ashamed to still keep that name and do nothing. The place is shady and nothing touristy over here. As I always say, the overall Indian development is not upwards, but deep downwards, in most of the sector.

If properly maintained, this place has the potential to become the best evening spot in Trivandrum. The proximity to Technopark is a big advantage. The walkway is non-existent at most places. I could only wish it was looked after properly. Hope the government comes up with some plan to revive it. It could become the Marine Drive of Trivandrum

A place that may develop into a calm destination if government give preferences to add quality and decent environments favouring tourism

Small but all the play items are very good and well maintained. One of the best options in trivandrum for kids. Covered throughout with big beautiful trees. Has a small entry fees as well

AKKULAM BOAT CLUB IS OPPOSITE TO AKKULAM TOURIST VILLAGE. AKKULAM ROAD TO ULLOOR JN. DIVIDES BOTH THE PLACES. A SMALL PARK INVITES YOU TO THE SHORE OF LAKE. PEOPLE OFTEN REST AND ENJOY IN THIS PARK AT ANY TIME. FROM THE ROAD SIDE VIEW YOU CAN SEE THE PARK'S GREEN LAWN EXTENDS TO THE LAKE.
ACTUALLY IT IS THE WATER HYACINTH (LOCALLY CALLED KULA VAZHA) THAT INFESTED THE WATER BODY.
SAD TO CONFESS THAT, NOW AKKULAM LAKE IS A GARBAGE DUMP OF THE CITY WASTE AND AS WELL AS MAJOR ENCROACHMENT OF LAND MAFIA. PARVATHY PUTHANAR AND KANNAN MOOLA CANAL ALSO DRAINS MUCH OF THE WASTE WATER INTO THIS LAKE.
SO ALWAYS NEED PRECAUTIONS TO ENJOY BOATING.

This place is abandoned now, can go to hangout in the evenings if u dont have anything n the world to do:)

Akkulam boat club is a well known as a backwater destination having the Akkulam Lake joining with the sea.

It is no longer a boat club.it's more a children's park at best. The boat house and boat are in ruins and even the lake had be half claimed by floating plants. This place is an badly in need of maintenance.

Poor maintenance! Do not attract even locals and domestic tourists. Kiran Jet is the main attraction. Park, Lake, Swimming pools etc.are not maintained properly. There was boating facilities once. Now the entire lake is covered with weeds. Boats are not seen. May have drowned. It was one of the beautiful and fascinating park for local people as well as other domestic tourists. Nearby swimming pool is in bad condition. Check quality of water before attempting to swim.

A calm area to walk around. Entry fee is low. You will get park, river and beach in one area. Children's park is there. For kids it's the beautiful area. They will get swing slide for playing. Horse ride is available at beach side. Boating is available in two type. Pedal and motor type. That beautiful park having sculptures. The pond in the park have fishes and tortoise. Sculpture created by kanayi kunjiraman is the best one on there. I think it's named sleeping beauty. All-around a good experience.
