The entire experience was fabulous, Beautiful houseboat with all amenities, The boat takes through the entire lake for almost 2 hour cruise journey and then in the evening it settles down near the shore, It is a beautiful experience to watch the sunset & a cherry on the cake moment when you have your girl gang with you & spend the entire night in the houseboat, everything was great except that there were mosquitoes but if you are careful about them then you can prevent them from coming into the room. The food quality and service was great, the quantity offered was also good enough. Overall a must and different experience of the entire Kerala trip.

The experience on the boathouse is really nice. We booked through JCT make my trip. The food and the staff are really helpful and attentive. There is like a butler on the boat. They provided hot water on request for my 2 year old as and when required for all her meals.
In a few hours our journey started and they provided us with welcome drink a refreshing lemonade. Later we stoped for lunch and if you choose your menu as Non veg they provide you nice fish fry. Alleppey is known for fresh fish. We stoped at a village to purchase some fresh prawns and the butler cooked it for us. They organise a candle light dinner with the cooked prawns. Nice initiative and something unique, they try to make with the limited resources they have on the boat. They provided even evening tea and pakoda. And morning breakfast. We ate authentic Kerela food only on the boat. We were in Munnar 2 days before this but we dint get to taste some authentic food at the resort. Our Resort had just limited menu for dinner and breakfast so I can say the boat house was way better than the 4 star hotel we booked and stayed in Munnar.
Our cab driver Mr. Sudhan CR was really supportive and recommended us many places and provided right suggestions on sight seeing. He even gave us his membership card to use at the Kanan Devan Tea Museum and we got some discount. He is the best polite and friendly driver.

Extremely beautiful. Worth vising this place.the time spent here feels less no matter how much.sikara rides, kayaking, speed boat rides.all available.

Beautiful lake & it's 1 of the biggest lake.we took shikara ride & I feel it's good enough to experience the beauty of the place whereas house boat must be a different experience but it's too costly & what's the point when u had to spent night tucked at the port only.

Very relaxing place.you'll get most house boats parked in a place called 'the finishing point'. You can get bargained prices if you go directly.
We took private 'Shikara ' boat instead nice that was too.
Allapuzha beach was very crowded try other beaches around.
Try to stay at homestays here, pretty good one's around.

Did a day tour and Loved the experience
It was cool and breezy. Had an wholesome lunch towards the end of the tour. It was traditional food and very scrumptious.

We have been coming here for the past couple of decades. While the backwarers are far more crowded than in 2008, its still a gem, and should be strongly considered as part of your India trip. Great scenery, awesome food. Love the people.

Amazing place. Lots of boating and kayaking options available. And some Toddy shops too. Sunset and sunrise times are the best

The cruise was awesome. Loved the serenity and view. Lunch and dinner were so wholesome. It's just humid inside the room. So needs ac from 5 pm to 7 am. Check in at 12 pm. Cruise till 5 pm with a lunch break of 1 hr in between. Then houseboat is docked and have a walk or sleep inside.sometimes the TV does not work. Another 1 hr cruise in morning with delicious breakfast. Check out at 9.

The boat ride was superb. The only thing you should make sure is about the details of the house boat that you travel. Ask to them every detail and try to avoid agents.

We was visited Kerela in february months and explored some places in Kerala. In this Alleppey backwater was very exciting for us and enjoyed full day in backwater in houseboat.

Spending day-night on houseboat was nice and one of good place to visit when going to Kerela.

Peoples also good and well behaved with visitors. They made meal for us and setup like candle light dinner, cake.

One of best place for backwater experience in kerala. We went their at near 11 and check-in same on boat and on next day check-out at near 10am.

After then we moved to next location which was marari beach and our happiness going on next day also.

You can go straight to backwaters boat stop point then you can talk with them and get a bargain price. It’s better this way as booking online is expensive and people tend to show less places or less time on boat.it’s better to travel in any season.it’s so beautiful

Amazing place. We took 4 hrs local jetty and enjoyed the ride. He charged Rs. 400 per hour so was quite affordable. Boat houses are costly- 7-20 thousand as per offered services but we didn't get as on 26th Jan most of these were booked. We still loved this small boat ride.

The Kerala backwaters are a network of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast (known as the Malabar Coast) of Kerala state in southern India, as well as interconnected canals, rivers and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 kilometres (560 mi) of waterways and sometimes compared to American bayous. The network includes five large lakes linked by canals, both man made and natural, fed by 38 rivers, and extending virtually half the length of Kerala state. The backwaters were formed by the action of waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range. In the midst of this landscape there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises. The backwaters have a unique ecosystem: freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea. A barrage has been built near Thanneermukkom, so salt water from the sea is prevented from entering the deep inside, keeping the fresh water intact. A very good place to unwind and rejuvenate. The house boats a re a little overrated, but its a good experience to tick off your bucket list. A better option is to take a boat ride and book a homestay near Marari beach. The drive is pleasant and the beach is very clean.

We enjoy the 3 hr trip ourd the Backwater Canal amazing landscape.for as the best choice take small boot for cople of Hr.a houseboat for only as two be boring because the boot can not go in small canal. Enjoy Backwater.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom houseboat of Deshadan hotel. The best part was the captain and his help both guys were amazing. So courteous and humble. Felt as if it was a 5 star cruise. The journey was commendable. And the menu curated by them was beyond imagination and so tasty. We were 2 non-vegetarians and 1 vegetarian. They gave sumptuous lunch, evening snacks with tea, dinner and breakfast. Everything was perfect and very comfortable. Highly recommended.

The two stars I'm giving is just for the beauty of alleppey backwaters rest people for giving that service for the tourist they are not worth for any stars because any new terrorist comes there for the first time in there cheat him and they charge them three times more than the actual price before mine thing I experienced that I was been told Rs 1800 per hour and the actual rate was Rs 600 per hour and the normal trip is off 3 hours with all the points visit but this said is off for hours and which was not fair from there end to do this kind of cheatting to anyone, because you take whatever is hard earned by you but don't rip off any other's pockets because their money and not grown on the trees so this was the very very bad experience for me and I don't know how many people they are doing the same this is a full-on Robbery and shooting from this small town people keeping small mentality and trying to cheat each and every individual who is coming therefore make the good holiday trip
