Excellent experience of shikara ride with Jayan.
Though we reached Alapuza late in the afternoon, he made all the efforts to cover the lake as well as canals before the end time.
The timing proved perfect for us as we were able to see the village life, people going about their life, families returning home in small boats as a medium of commute.

As per reviews Yes, Jayan is very polite and helpful person and also the uncle Sathisan (helmsman) is also polite, he provided information about food, farms, boats during ride. If you want to take quality ride with justifiable charge, please contact Jayan without any hesitation, boat is in good condition, clean and ride was very smooth.

Jayan is a very genuine guy. I was able to book a Shikara ride just the evening before and he coordinated everything really well. No unnecessary extra charges. He rightly recommended us to take a morning ride which meant less crowds, beautiful calming weather. Highly recommended!

Reason behind giving the 5 star is most important factor of any business is ethics. This guy is totally work on ethics and taking the ideal price for boat toor. In normal time you will get the shikara ride around 600 per hour and in the holiday / festival time it goes up to 1000 per hours. Two of us went for a 4-hour trip on Jayan's Shikara boat. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Kerala. The boat was clean, safe and comfortable. Our guide gave us explained local points of interest, answered all of our questions and even took some photos for us. He showed us lakes and local village life. He also made a stop off so we could use the bathroom and grab a refreshment.
The tour was easy to organise. We called that morning and organised the time and place via WhatsApp.
It was a smooth, relaxing ride and we are so pleased that we chose to explore the backwaters this way rather than a houseboat tour! Thank you

Affordable and nice Shikara sailing for 3 hours. Very nice host was ready on time as I took an afternoon ride after hotel checkout. Better to book directly with him than through hotels and agents to get cost benefit.

I recently took a Shikara ride in Alleppey, Kerala, and it was a highlight of my trip to the region. The Shikara boat glided smoothly along the scenic backwaters, offering breathtaking views of the lush greenery and serene waters.

The boat was well-maintained and comfortable, with plenty of room to sit and relax while taking in the scenery. The boat owner Jayan was knowledgeable and friendly, providing interesting information about the local area and its history.

It is worthy going for Shikara ride and avoid house boats.
Houseboat will cost you 10 to 12k bucks not worth for entire day. Whereas shikara costs approx 1k for 2 hours 4 people.

Great service. Clean boat. On time arrival. Extremely professional and good knowledge regarding the routes travelled. Very good photographs taken by Jayan as well. Boat also has a speaker for entertainment.

We pre-booked the Shikhara ride before we arrived to Kochi. Jayan is really an amazing tour guide as well. He works out the route perfectly, bringing you to his "secret spot" that's just stunningly beautiful for pics, before timing it perfectly to see the most amazing sunset you may ever see! I was so chilled after the trip, I felt as though I had just had a massage of my mind. I will never ever forget the experience. If you're looking to do a Shikara trip, I 100% recommend him.

The best experience I have in Kerala in 7 years, not only because Alleppey is one of the best places in Kerala, but also because we have with us one of the best 'Helmsman or more commonly the captain of the Shikara boat'.

Shiikara experience is very nice than a house boat as they work from early morning till 6pm. Jayan, was very helpful arranging boat for us even when he had some unavoidable function. Really enjoyable 3 hour tour of the lakes, rivers and canals of Alleppey backwaters. The driver was very friendly and described everything in detail. I'd highly recommend doing one of his tours and if I'm back in Alleppey, I'd definitely do another!

Sailing in the god's own country was heavenly. Mr. Jayan, the sailor of Sathgamaya took very good care of everyone, explained all the new things we didn't know. He took us to a local veg restaurant where the food was awesome.
