Amrita Boys Hostel Complex

A typical hostel with 4 ppls in one room stuffed. Have common bathrooms hopefully they clean it everyday. Have small balcony totally grilled in maxm hostels. Few rooms are good depending on their location other are very hot. Food is for survival but will get used to it.

Amrita boys 2years and above hostel at Amritapuri is so nice.

It's a combination of buildings. Each building is dedicated to type of year the students are in. Each has water coolers with hot and cold drinking water. Washing clothes facilities are available for the students on the terrace. They have to wash on their own. MTech rooms have two people. Bed with lockers. Table with shelf. No almirah. Parking is available outside hostel with surveillance (claimed by hostel).

It's a pretty place pretty spacious too but the cleanliness is not the best it's clean but there are some rooms which still has small mess.

Stayed here for 2.5 years from 2016 to 2018. I was an ECE student so I lived in the Shivam building (the second one from the entrance).

I would say ours was not the best but definitely not the worst either. The oldest buildings in the complex looked like a prison. Ours looked like a normal building. We had wifi, a common bathroom for each floor, european closets, showers (no hot water). There was also a water purifier in each alternate floor providing hot, normal and cold water. Depending on the warden, that may not work sometimes. Getting internet from our sims were difficult over here. Wifi had restrictions and Data speeds were horrible.

The rooms were spacious, especially for four people with a small attached room as well. The terrace had a lot of space with four stone structures for washing (no washing machine here). The mess was situated at the other end of the complex so we had to walk about 200 m for that. If you have heard stories, then I wouldn't rate the food. It was not good but eatable. Most would disagree though.

The gates close at 8: 30 pm after which we needed permission to enter. As long as we made back in time by roll call, we could go anywhere. Getting leave from the hostel involved applying through an online portal.
I wouldn't rate this the dream hostel but this was the fun part of my btech life. Evenings here were what kept us sane from the studious life at the college.

Vehicles parking available, walking distance to college. Huge mess hall, even snacks are given twice if needed.
Has many hostel blocks, good environment.
