Athreya Ayurvedic Centre

I have been visiting Athreya since 2015, and in November 2023, it was my 5th visit to the place. The place is a blessing in my life, and whenever I require cure or rejuvenation, I come here.

For people who are looking for ayurveda treatment, this is one of the best places to be in India.

Dr. Sreejit, the chief physician, is highly skilled in the field whose understanding of patients' problems and its solution are sometimes astounding. My experience is that he goes far beyond general consultation and treatment and helps people in every possible way during and after the stay, which is very essential for overall well-being in the long term.

Over the years, I came across many repeat patients from across the world and have witnessed the team and place evolved, which is good to keep up with changing time.

As an Indian I would say that the price is reasonably placed, given that it includes accommodation, food, treatments, medicines during the stay, and the exceptional service provided by all the staff. I have firmly believed that similar to financial investment, one needs to invest in health regularly to keep getting return in the long term.

I must also point out that the place is not a fancy 4 or 5 star hotel but people who are genuinely looking for Ayurveda treatment and well being, this is a beautiful place made of traditional cottages with modern amenities in a village setting with high attention from doctors and staffs.

Athreya is an Ayurvedic clinic run by a couple of first-rate doctors, where you will receive a protocol of targeted and effective treatments for psychophysical health according to the authentic tradition of ancient Ayurvedic medicine.
An initial medical consultation characterized by extreme accuracy and availability is followed by the drafting of a program of daily treatments including Panchakarma practices and massages. Every day you are received by the doctor who monitors the progress of the therapies. Yes they are followed by one or two therapists who perform the treatments and supervise the well-being of the guest with great kindness and attention.
The days are marked around these activities. Meals are served following the dictates of Ayurvedic cuisine and you can take part in two guided hatha yoga practices each day.
Last but not least, these aspects are combined with the extraordinary beauty of the resort, organized in comfortable bungalows in a well-kept garden, all immersed in the wonderful setting of the Backwaters.
Although my stay was rather short, I was able to appreciate the seriousness of the therapies offered and of all the staff, as well as the magnificence of the place.

I went there to attend Interview. Overall i like the ambience of Athreya Ayurvedic centre which is quite impressive for a first time visitor. I noticed their Staff behaviour with foreigner's client which is also good.
There is a TV screen Left to the front office which shows their service demonstration and they have clearly mentioned about their services in their website.
Even though I got rejected i respect their requirements. And they emailed me regarding the same which is professional way of approach.

Those looking for peace and quiet will find it there, for sure.

From my point of view, a certain stability of the psyche is a prerequisite for enduring the not always very simple therapies.

Dr Sreejit and Dr. Jayalakshmi were extremely competent and emphatic doctors with outstanding expertise.
The whole staff, but especially Sudheesh from the kitchen and my personal therapists Anandhu and Agith gave everything for me, thank you very much.

I 100% recommend Athreya Ayurvedic Resort and I am so thankful to everyone who made my 28 day stay so special.

PS: Athreya is not a hospital. This should be considered in terms of care if you decide to do so.

Our guide took us here for a massage treatment and I can say it's the best one I had in Sri Lanka.
Quiet place, friendly and kind staff, beautiful space

Absolutely incredible. The staff, the care, the facilities, the rooms and the treatments are top notch. There is such attention to detail and it's tailored specifically to me and my healing journey. Dr Shreejit and the other doctors and nurses are so experiences and knowledgable as well as being compassionate and understanding. The healing journey is not always easy but it's 100% recommended.

Upon doing some online research I stumbled upon Athreya Ayurvedic Center. Despite of trip advisor 5 star reviews for this wellness center. Just to make sure it suited my requirement, I spend more time learning more about this center on their website and read bunch of posted reviews. Only after being convinced, I went ahead with scheduled my phone consultation with Dr. Sreejit and made my booking.

Here's my personal experience I would like to share, I hope my review provides helpful information to some. Athreya is a well appointed and organized treatment center, offering great panchakarma treatment, fresh and delicious vegetarian food, peaceful relaxing environment and comfortable stay.

Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalaxmi are extremely experienced knowledgeable and each treatment is very customized and tweaked based on individual aliments. My therapist were Ranjit and Abhijeet, they both were very professional, polite and had years for working experience.

Upon completion of my few weeks of stay at Athreya, I felt mentally relaxed, grounded and most of the chronic gut related symptoms showed great improvement.

I am very grateful to the Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalaxmi for their personal attention and treatment guidance. And offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to front desk staff Dr. Anju, Ashish, Jeny and Jemy. Kitchen staff Sudesh, Arun, and cooks. Rahul and house keeping team, Ranjit and Abhijeet my therapist. I am from Canada and I stayed at Athreya for two weeks to undergo cleansing and address a couple of my concerns - issues with sleep and hormonal imbalance. This was the first time that I went for a treatment of this kind. This was one the most rewarding experiences I ever had. Of course, I had my anxiety when I started the process of contacting Athreya about the process. But, they made the process very smooth and easy. I got to talk to Dr. Sreejit ahead of time about my concerns and goals I wanted to achieve. He provided a realistic projection of what is possible and how long I would need to stay there. This helped me to plan my trip without so much difficulty. Dr. Anju from Athreya guided me every step of the way. Right after the moment I arrived at Athreya, my treatment started immediately. They didn't waste any time. After two weeks, I felt so much better physically, mentally and emotionally. Athreya takes a holistic approach in treating people. The resort is a somewhat controlled environment, which is great. They provide you all three meals (veg of course, but delicious). In this process, you will slowly adapt into a much healthier lifestyle. The resort staff is some of the kindest and sweetest people you would ever find. Very relaxed atmosphere. They offer yoga every day. Dr. Sreejith conducts a healing ritual (burning fire) every evening. You will have a consultation with either Dr. Sreejit or Dr. Jeyalakshmi everyday. They are willing to make adjustments to your treatment plan or speed up the treatment based on how you make progress. I find their approach is very realistic and well organized. You will be informed of every step of your treatment plan a head of time. Your treatment will be customized to your needs. Dr. Sreejit and Dr. Jeyalakshmi are wonderful people and very knowledgeable doctors. They deeply care about every guest who stays at Athreya. Dr. Sreejit's sincerely and passionately work hard to provide a quality life through healing to everyone who comes to Athreya. And the therapists are very kind and skillful. The moment you arrive at Athreya, you will feel at home and I promise this. I not only felt better physically, but also felt so much happier on my last day there. You must have this experience at least once in your life time. For me, I would certainly come back again!
