The best.nothing more to say. Everyone going fort kochi should try their mutton mappas and porotta it is really a heavenly feeling. The food I remember till the end of my time.

If you go to Mattancherry and ask for hotel city star, no one would be able to guide you properly. Because it's known more in the name of 'Balante Kada' in these area.

I usually recommends it to all who asks for local experience in Fortkochi - Mattancherry area. They have this unique SQUARE POROTTA. Also beef roast and maniputtu have huge fan following in this part of the city. And yes mutton chops and idiyappam are second to none.
This restaurant is light on wallet as well as best in town. So make sure you try this place while you are in Kochi.

It's a small shop on the outskirts of mattanchery, Heard of this shop from many vloggers, always had the intention to try it, service is not that great you to grab the attention of the waiter still they won't notice us, would was tasty nothing extraordinary, finding parking is another big issue

A must visit to have the porotta combo, it's simply mouth watering and at great budget.

I had parotta and Beef fry from there. Parotta was excellent. Beef fry was like just good only. Lots of Rubbery fat pieces was there in the beef fry.

Tasty food if you don't mind the atmosphere, the crowd and hygiene. The food items are quite traditional and unique.

Balan Chettante Kada, Hotel City star is located at Mattanchery, near Gujrathi Road and Hotel Nooriya (which is famous for 'Erachi Choru').

This hotel came to prominence through the videos of vloggers. Dining space is limited. Parking space not at all available.

The hotel is well known for their square shaped Porotta, Mutton Curry and Chicken fry. There would be enormous rush at Morning. When I entered there at noon time, there was not that much rush.

I had ordered square Porotta and Mutton Curry. Porotta was fluffy and thin layered. But, Mutton curry didn't meet my expectation. However, the gravy was good.

Highly recommended place! Limited menu and seating but the food tasted really good. Speedy service. Both Mutton chaps and Beef roast tasted excellent and will go well with square porotta.

Absolutely worth the hype. Missed mutton curry, because we reached by 6.30 PM. But the gravy they served tempted us to go there again.

Beef dishes are average. So as the porotta.

You get the best porotta in whole ekm at this shop. Their porotta is soft and crispy. They have only limited side dishes. I had porota, nool putt, mutton chaps, beef fry and beef roast and egg roast. The shop is very small with limited number of seats and affordable. Porotta and mutton chaps have never disappointed me.

A lot of my friends recommend this place, so I was expecting a lot. But my experience here was not that interesting. We had the famous Square Porotta and Mutton Chaps. It was hardly anything special.

One of the best beef roast I ever had. Delicious. Had one suggestion, this space could have been more female friendly.
