Very relaxed homestay hosted by Biju and his team, at walking distance near the backwaters in a calm dead-end street. Especially enjoyed the calmness and the good sense of humour and laughter of the staff (nonetheless everyone remains very professional and helpful to find homeboats, kayaks, scooters or any other type of transport one might fancy).

The hearty breakfast. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The location is ideal, a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to be able to walk there.

We stayed 3 nights at Bella and it’s the most lovely experience! The staff is super friendly and helped us get around and have recommendations that fit us. The room is nice, simple and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

I was with my family had booked the full bunglow
Suddenly at night the owner opens the door and walks in while my whole family was sleeping
We asked and he says have come to find my mobile charger
And there was one room empty

Horrible experience never go with family
Ac not working he came again at 7.30 in living room and starts using kitchen
Breakfast was very late just bought a plastic bag don’t know on what was there
So many mosquitoes no soap no towels no proper curtains light comes in early morning
Wash room broken
Will never come and stay again

U shd have come and chk how many people were there
We were 6 adults and 4 kids
And kids age was
5 6 8 9
And one kid was 13 years which I had included him in adult,
Pls see before writing ur phone was off before chk out and before chk in
U tell me who comes in a bunglow from the back door at night 2 am and then sleeps in the next room saying I will sleep here as I am the owner
Kindly think and write that we are lying
And with a coupe 2 kids are always allowed and no need to even mention if the kids are the age of my kids, ur being glow was horrible not hot water and taps broken fridge broken, don’t mess up things sir I have all pics to send of ur fridge with out the door and food inside with full of mosquito if u want will share the video here, u shd be great ful to me as I did not upload any video and photos if u want I have all pics of ur kitchen u roaming at 2.30 am at night my mom has recorded the video at night 2.30 am saying that u r the owner, what do u think if u r the owner an given on rent, so u can come at night from the back door of ur house after 3 family staying in

This is the best homestay I have stayed in Kerala for affordable budget. The house is the prettiest of all, newly renovated, in which I spent a few days. Biju is a super helpful and kind host, he did everything necessary to organize my excursions in the backwaters and the surroundings. There food at home, Kerala breakfasts, transport logistics, organization of excursions to Marari and in the backwaters with an eco-responsible spirit of the field, the best advice; and all with great kindness and dedication. The house is so pleasant that you should not hesitate to stay longer at this stage. The bedding is new and incredibly comfortable, the bathroom impeccable, and there is a large balcony, a very well-kept small tropical garden, and a library. Thank you Biju for your superb welcome!

One of the best home stays I have ever stayed. Viju and his team works very hard to make this stay comfortable. We loved the ambience. It is mixture of traditional Kerala culture and modern art. Plus there is a beautiful garden and library with rich collection of books. They had prepared amazing pan cakes and appam for us for breakfast which was mind blowing. Do ask for canoe ride which gives us glimpse of local life of people living on the islands of back water. Please read about the place and rules before booking the place though. Me and my wife enjoyed a lot.

Where do I begin? Let's start with the welcome. Biju greets you with a refreshing juice and explains how to get around and where everything is. The room is spacious with good aircon. There is plenty of free bottled water. The bed is comfortable. Then there is breakfast. Toast, tea or coffee, jam, butter, pancakes, watermelon, orange, bananas (from the garden), lassi. Followed by omelette or scrambled eggs, if you have room. Nothing is too much trouble. They will also organise a day on the backwaters in a kayak. Highly recommended.

Truly a great home stay, and a distinction should be given to the people (Biju, Natasha, and Sunita) who care about wellbeing of the guests. They make sure that the guests have great experience in Alleppey. They are very experienced in this business, and understand the needs of foreign visitors. The room and bathroom were very clean and AC worked very well. Drinking water, toiletries and clean towels were provided for maximum comfort. I love Kerala pancakes! Thank you so much for going above and beyond taking care of me. I enjoyed interacting with Biju, Natasha and Sunita, who gave me new information and insights in life in Kerala. Stayed for 4 days, good experience with the owner Biju.
Pros - Great breakfast, great host, well kept rooms, cleanliness, ambience, library of books to read.
Cons- Location is a bit hidden, in a small lane, no TV, no room service, small rooms, rooms are cleaned once in 2 days, no food is available at the homestay barring the breakfast served, hot water heater conked frequently during our stay.
Overall - If you want a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle go for it.

Unreliable.

Did not keep our room even though we had let know our time of arrival and they confirmed. They still have not cancelled our room on Booking. Instead they said that we needed to have confirmed (which we did) and that it was our fault. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Bad experience.

Zeer slechte ervaring. Ondanks dat we de reservering hadden bevestigd kwamen we er achter bij aankomst dat ze de kamer hadden gegeven aan iemand anders, zonder ons te bellen of ons op een andere manier op de hoogte te stellen. Ook op Booking hebben ze de reservering niet geannuleerd.

A very beautiful homestay. The entrance of the house itself makes your mood fresh with so much of greenery. The ambience of the house is adorable. The owner of the house is very gentle person, she is doing a great job maintaining her home. A must recommended place to stay with neat and clean beautiful rooms.

An excellent home stay. Both Bijo n sunita are very kind and helpful! The house is very clean and well kept. Beautiful place to spend time with family. They serve excellent breakfast with lots of fresh fruits and juices. Simply enjoyed the stay there and surely recommend this place for a peaceful n rejuvenating holiday. They also have a well trained doggy called Jackie who himself is a great host.

We tried diverse types of accomodations in our trip to Kerala. This homestay stood out as one of the best. Would recommend for all sorts of travellers. Warm hosts, best breakfast, beautiful home and they have a collection of travel books too! Beautiful porch and garden where one can enjoy having a rich breakfast. Felt earthy and warm.

Such a lovely place to stay in Alleppey. Quaint and homely. Very peaceful.
Biju is a wonderful host and takes care of anything you may need. I was travelling solo and Biju went out of his way to make sure I felt at home and always answered any questions I had. He also arranges transportation for you if you need it. Highly recommend if you're visiting Alleppey.

It was like coming back home after a very long absence. Bijou is totally committed and dedicated to our needs. Within the first hour he introduced us to the guy that was our Very good and fairly priced driver for the next part of our trip. He also introduced us to the owner of the boat that we would enjoy the overnight backwater trip with as well as set up our 1/2 day paddle canoe trip for the next day. He took care of our excess luggage while we were on the over night trip. Technically we had checked out but he was able to let us freshen up in our room before leaving the next day. Always totally helpful and obliging. Set up a fair (local) tuctuc driver for our spontaneous evening meal. The room was excellent. Food excellent. Wifi excellent. Location exactly what we wanted. A little off the beaten track. But accessible to everything. Lighting via solar panels. I can relate to this. We use and are big fans of solar. Good luck Bijou. Thanks again for all your help.
